Chapter 12 Conversation in the Three Broomsticks (Part 1)
"Want to buy some special flavor of chocolate, Parvati?" said Silver.
"Let me see, Hermione had to give up this Hogsmeade trip because she wanted to complete her paper. Padma caught a severe cold at night and is still recuperating with Mrs. Pomfrey. I have to bring them with me." Parvati said while scanning the counter.
The Honey Duke was filled with Hogwarts students. Parvati had to squeeze in the crowd to see all kinds of candies. The store had a shelf fork and a shelf filled with the most intriguing candies that people could imagine. Large pieces of cream peanut candy, shiny pink coconut sorbets, neatly arranged hundreds of various chocolates, a bucket of flavored beans, a bucket of sizzling bee candy, a fruit dew drink floating in the air, along the other wall was "with
Special effects” of various candies: Blowing Super Bubble Gum (it fills the room with blue bellflower-colored bubbles that won't break for a few days), bizarre fragmented wool-tooth mints, small black pepper urchin ("breathing fire out of your nose for your friends!"), ice rats ("heard your teeth fighting and creaking!"), creamy mints shaped like toads ("really beat in the stomach!"), crunchy sugar quills and exploding sandwich candy.
"Okay, when will you pick this?" Silver chuckled. "There are at least hundreds of kinds of candies in the Honeybee Duke's store. There are so many people now. If you pick it until tomorrow, you won't be able to play with it. Leave it to me."
Silver flexibly squeezed through the crowd and came to the counter. "Mrs. Smith, your store is as prosperous as ever."
A middle-aged witch who looked busy and worried was as if she had seen some treasure.
"Ah, isn't this little Jack?" Mrs. Smith said in an exaggerated tone. "Come and choose candy with your little girlfriend?"
"Mrs. Smith, don't make me happy. I want to buy a candy gift pack for four people. It must be the most delicious and unique candy in the Honeybee Duke's store."
"Okay." Mrs. Smith's eyes narrowed into a line, "Chenghui Thirty-six Gallon, a candy gift pack for four people."
"Mrs. Smith, your candy gift pack is getting more and more expensive."
"You can't say that, little Jack, the candy gift pack is definitely worth the money - who!" Mrs. Smith suddenly shouted loudly. A large wooden box behind Mrs. Smith made a collision sound.
"What's wrong? Mrs. Smith?"
"Maybe it's a cat, I've been a little cautious and allergic recently. Black and Dementors make people panic. No one can do business safely." Mrs. Smith walked around the wooden box and looked carefully, then transferred to Silver and said.
"Yes, there will always be something unexpected that will disturb our lives." Silver said carelessly, his eyes still staring around the big wooden box, as if there was an invisible person there.
"Boss, we want some jelly slugs."
Mrs. Smith responded and said to Silver: "I'm so busy now. Little Jack, the candy gift package will be delivered to you to school, don't worry." Then the Smith turned around and went to the back to get the jelly slug.
"But Mrs. Smith, I haven't given you my money yet."
"I'll give it to you next time, little Jack, he's always a regular customer."
Silver had no choice but to smile and pulled Parvati out of the Honeybee Duke Candy Shop.
There was a big snowstorm outside, and Parvati wrapped her cloak tightly and lowered her head to resist the cold wind.
Hogsmeade Village looks like a Christmas card: the hut and shop are covered with crisp snow, and the doors of each household have woven wools, and magic candles hang in strings on the trees.
Silver kept steaming at his hands. "Parvati, it's too cold, let's go to the three brooms to have a butterbet bar." Parvati nodded repeatedly in agreement. So they crossed the road and a few minutes later, they entered the small hotel. It was crowded and noisy, warm and smoky, and a graceful woman with a beautiful figure and a beautiful face was taking care of a group of noisy witches at the bar. "I'll buy wine and some bits of food, and you'll find a seat to sit down first."
“Beautiful and charming Ms. Rosmerta, we need four bottles of butterbeer…”
Parvati and Silver sat at a small table between a window and a beautiful Christmas tree, close to the fireplace, which was very warm. They drank steaming hot butter beer and drove away the chills.
Suddenly, a breeze blew across his hair and the door of the three brooms opened again.
Professor McGonagall and Frieve had just walked into the tavern amid a gust of snowflakes, followed by Hagrid, and he was having a lively chat with a man wearing a dark yellow-green bowler hat and a thin cloak, who was the Minister of Magic Connery Fudge.
"A small cup of canyon water—"
"My." Professor McGonagall's voice.
"Four pints of honey wine--"
"Thank you, Rosmerta," Haeger said.
“A serving of sherry juice soda with ice and umbrella snails—”
"Wai!" Professor Frieve said, still smacking his lips.
"Then yours is red currant candy wine, Minister."
"Thank you, Rosmota, my dear," said Foggy's voice, "I must say, I'm so happy to see you again. Have a drink too, okay? Come and sit with us..."
"Okay. Thank you, Minister."
"What wind has blown you here, Minister?" This is Rosmerta's voice.
Fudge's thick lower body twisted on the chair, as if to check if anyone was eavesdropping around him. Then he said quietly: "What else can happen besides Sirius Black, my dear? I dare you say you have heard what happened at school on Halloween eve?"
"I heard the rumor," Ms. Rosmerta admitted.
"Have you told the whole tavern, Hagrid?" Professor McGonagall said angrily. Hagrid knew that he was in a wrong way and remained silent.
"Do you think Black is still in this area, Minister?" Ms. Rosmerta asked in a low voice.
"Absolutely." Fudge said briefly.
"Do you know the Dementors have searched my tavern twice?" Ms. Rosmerta said, with a little sharpness in her voice. "Scare all my customers away. It's not good for doing business, Minister."
"Rosmerta, my dear, I like you, and I don't like them either." Fudge said uneasy, "The necessary precautions, but you are right, I've met a few of them just now. They were so annoyed by Dumbledore that he wouldn't let them go into the castle grounds."
"I don't think they should be allowed in," said Professor McGonagall sharply. "These terrible things are floating everywhere, how do we teach?"
"Listen, listen!" The short Professor Frieve screamed, his feet hanging there, one foot from the ground.
"To be honest, Minister, I thought you would learn from the last two dementor attacks on innocent students." Silver came to Fudge's table with butter beer. "Hello Professor McGonagall, Professor Flevy, Professor Hager, and Ms. Rosmerta."
"Jack!" Fudge shouted in surprise.
"Minister, you seem to be surprised to see me. I reminded you at first that dementors are not reliable. Before relying on them to catch Black, I am afraid that some of us students may be sucked away by these hateful dementors."
Fudge looked a little uneasy. "This, the previous accident was just an accident-"
"But the people will not accept the statement of accidents." Silver said calmly. "I think you should be clear about our position - dementors are gradually losing control and they are breeding. At the beginning of school, there were only 24 dementors, but now the number is over 100. With your current personnel in Hogwarts, you cannot control these dementors. There is a special environment around Hogwarts, which allows the dementors to be strong and reproduce. Last time, the dementors broke into Quidditch Stadium without obeying the ban, and someone almost died. If something happens, it is very unfavorable to your political prospects."
An embarrassing silence.
"But Jack, you know that now, even if I withdraw the dementor, I will-"
"There will be criticism against you, right?" Silver sat down and took a sip of the beer. "I just wanted to get your authorization so that teachers and students in schools can completely purify these unclean creatures in an emergency."
"It's OK." Fudge breathed a sigh of relief. "Even if you don't ask, the Ministry of Magic will not be lenient if the dementor attacks the students again. But I still hope you can understand, after all, this is a special period."
