Chapter 17 I Know You Can't

Chapter 17 I know you can't do it ()

After Jill made such a trouble, no one could sleep. When everyone got up, Ye Zhiqiu carefully moved the bed, opened the door and walked out.

There was already a light of dawn in the sky outside the house, but the room was still pitch black. After hearing Carlos's movement last night, Ye Zhiqiu didn't dare to be careless, so he walked out slowly and checked carefully with a flashlight.

Carlos originally thought that Ye Zhiqiu would have to take Remington when he went out, but he didn't expect that the brother would just carry a small flashlight and go out. Seeing the size of the flashlight, the zombie would probably swallow it in one bite, and he didn't even burp. He turned to look at Nicole, frowned and said, "He's going out like this?"

Nicole shrugged and turned to wash her face. They turned on the heater when they were sleeping yesterday. Although there was no heating equipment in the bathroom, the indoor temperature was still very high. She rarely slept so comfortably. At this time, she looked tired and was really in the mood to chat with Carlos.

Seeing Nicole ignore him, Carlos turned around with embarrassment, and saw Ethan sitting on the bed looking at him. Seeing him looking over, Ethan shrugged as if he was an adult: "You are not as popular as Ye Suai."

"That's because they don't know your father's ability yet." Carlos replied disapprovingly. Then he frowned and looked outside. There was already faint sunlight coming in through the window, but Ye Zhiqiu could not be seen from Carlos's position. He shook his head, grabbed the shotgun, checked the magazine, and said, "I'll go out and take a look."

When he walked to the door, he remembered another thing and turned his head and said to Ethan seriously: "Braveness and caution are virtues, but it is easy to die without caution."

"I know." Ethan looked at him: "I won't go out unless you call me."

"Very good." Carlos raised his hand, signaling that he was satisfied, and then walked out the door.

Ye Zhiqiu was right. It was stupid to turn on the flashlight in the dark, so Carlos easily found Ye Zhiqiu. He saw Ye Zhiqiu standing outside the house and checking the kitchen window, so he walked over and asked, "What's wrong?"

Ye Zhiqiu glanced at him and frowned and said, "There are signs of climbing here." He compared it with his hands: "The palms are very small, either children or women... Well, there are finger marks, fingers are very long. This is an adult woman with great strength." As he said that, he jumped onto the windowsill, looked carefully again, frowned and said, "This is probably a female zombie, or it is a woman with outstanding bounce and strength."

"We have a woman like that." Carlos leaned over and said, "She is washing her face."

Ye Zhiqiu knew that he was talking about Jill, so he lay on the window and looked at it, saying, "This is the window where Jill found the zombies yesterday. She did see it yesterday."

"This is so stupid." Carlos tried hard to identify the traces on the window frame and questioned: "If it was a zombie, why didn't she break in? If it was a human, why didn't she come in for help?"

Ye Zhiqiu shook his head, which was exactly what he was confused about: "Maybe she is afraid...I still don't think this is a survivor."

As he said that, he squatted down and pointed to the marks on the ground and said, "Look here, that's her big toe mark, which means she's barefoot. But the footprint is very light." He pointed to the footprints he left: "It looks like she is only twenty-five to thirty kilograms, and adult women cannot be so thin."

"I know that the zombies are all very thin, but they cannot be so light." Carlos had already begun to believe Ye Zhiqiu's words, holding a gun and scanning the nearby bushes restlessly, for fear that a zombie would suddenly jump out of there. After all, the sun has not yet risen, and the zombies have recorded dawn action.

Ye Zhiqiu shook her head, lowered her head and searched on the ground for a while, then pointed to a quadrilateral mark and said, "She is on all fours, so her weight is spread."

"This is not the palm." Carlos glanced at Ye Zhiqiu and immediately raised him to patrol the surroundings.

Ye Zhiqiu nodded: "This is not a palm, she holds something in her hand." After saying that, he stood up, looked at the direction where the footprints disappeared, and frowned: "It's so strange. I've never seen such a zombie."

While having breakfast, Ye Zhiqiu informed everyone about what he had just discovered, and then concluded: "We are not lonely here."

Jill frowned and said, "You must be a zombie?"

"Not sure." Ye Zhiqiu said that Xue Ding'e was so capable that he couldn't figure out whether a cat was dead or alive. I just looked at the footprints and could not tell whether it was a human or a ghost?

Jill glanced at Nicole, who said slowly, "What if it was someone? We have to find her."

When Carlos heard this, he was anxious. He had to go door to door if he wanted to find someone. Even in broad daylight, there were many places where there was no sunlight. Yesterday he actually heard the zombies screaming. If he encountered a zombie, even if he ran fast, he would not be able to survive if he was bitten. So he immediately expressed his objection.

Ye Zhiqiu agreed to search for the house here, but it was not to find a possible zombie. He slowly said: "Now we can't figure out how wide the scope of this disaster is, so we need a place to rest now, so we can't always run around like this."

"We can go to Ford Richardson," Nicole interjected, "Carlos said the leaders there were doing pretty well."

Jill disagreed with this view: "He just heard that no one knew what it was like. When Ashford first established a shelter, didn't everyone say he was a good person?"

Ye Zhiqiu coughed: "Maybe Carlos is right, but no one knows what Ford Richardson looks like. Since there has been no way to contact Ashford for so long, I probably won't be much better. The most likely thing is that the resources there are also very tight." He pointed at his feet: "The living facilities here are well preserved and there is a lot of food stored. We can rest here for a while, inquire about the situation outside, and then decide what to do."

Nicole frowned and said, "The weather is getting hotter and food storage is a problem. If there is electricity, it will be fine."

Ye Zhiqiu waved his hand: "We can look for it, there should be a generator here."

When Carlos heard that they had discussed the power generation, he quickly reiterated his opinion: "There are zombies here. zombies." He pointed to the Remington shotgun beside him: "I don't think that zombies can be dealt with just this and two small pistols." He pointed outside: "I don't care how you killed that guy, but don't expect me to think that relying on these weapons can challenge zombies in the house, that's a death."

Looking at Carlos' excited look, Nicole quickly comforted Jill: "Believe me, he is just worried about his children."

Jill sighed and looked at Carlos: "We don't have the weapons you want." Then she pointed to Ye Zhiqiu: "But we have him, and you don't have to go to the house to challenge the zombies." She pointed to Ye Zhiqiu again: "That's his job. All you have to do is collect everything you can use. It seems that we have to live here for a while."
