27. Clear the clouds and see the sun

Qingshui Mountain was a little far away. After walking for half an hour, the carriage finally arrived at the foot of Qingshui Mountain.

The remaining road was about to go by himself. Su Xi just took a look at the carriage. The mountain was not high, and it would not take long to climb to the top of the mountain. She was physically strong and her face remained the same after walking for half an hour. Su Lingrong and Su Lingyun were not as relaxed as hers. The two of them were so tired that their faces were flushed and panting. One of them held the other and climbed to the top of the mountain with difficulty.

From a distance, I saw a bamboo hut. There was a bamboo forest in front of the house. It was simply surrounded by fences and planted with several vegetable fields in the yard. Mr. Gutong seemed to be living a life of "picking chrysanthemums under the eastern fence, leisurely seeing the southern mountains". Su Xi and the other two walked to the door. A child wearing a green sticker stood in front of the door. She asked, "Does Mr. Gutong live here?"

The little boy said, "That's right, what's the matter with my husband?"

Su Xi told him about his purpose. The boy must have seen many such things and used to say that he would spread the word. Su Xi called him and took out the prayer letter written by Mr. Ji from his purse, "Please give this to Mr. Gu."

Su Lingrong and Su Lingyun also asked the maid to take it out.

The little boy then looked at Su Xi seriously and said, "Please wait, three girls, I'll go in now."

Not long after, the little boy returned, invited Su Xi, Su Lingrong and Su Lingyun into the side room, and said, "My husband is meeting guests, and the three girls are waiting here for a while."

The little boy served tea. Su Xi was on the bamboo rattan chair and waited patiently. Two quarters of an hour later, Su Lingrong and Su Lingyun couldn't sit still. The little boy only said that Mr. Gu Tong was hospitalizing the guests. When will the guests stay? Shouldn't they wait here for a day, right?

Two quarters of an hour later, Su Lingrong asked the little boy, "When will Mr. Gu meet us?"

The little boy said, "Mr.'s guest has not left yet."

This is what I meant to keep waiting.

Su Lingrong's face was not very good-looking. Fortunately, Su Xi was mentally prepared when she heard that Mr. Gu Gong had a "quirky temper". Although she was a little anxious now, she could still wait.

After a while, the little boy put a bamboo tray on the Eight Immortals table, with a few pieces of rice paper and a pen on it. The little boy took out a piece of paper and spread it on the table, and said to Su Lingyun: "Please put your hands on the paper, girl."

Su Lingyun was puzzled, "What does this mean?"

Xiaotong didn't explain much, but said that it was Mr. Gu Tong's meaning. When Su Lingyun heard that it was Mr. Gu's instructions, she put her hands up without saying a word. She saw Xiaotong holding a brush and copying Su Lingyun's hand shape. Then Su Lingrong and Su Xi. Xiaotong copied the hand shapes of the three people in turn, put the paper with the hand shape back on the bamboo plate, and then took it back.

Su Lingyun asked, "Mr. Ji is right. Mr. Gu is so weird. Why did he draw our hands?"

Su Xi didn't understand much, so she didn't answer the conversation.

Su Lingrong said, "Maybe it's a pretentious thing." She didn't agree with Mr. Gu very much. The reason why she came with her was just to compete with Su Xi. Why can only Su Xi meet Mr. Gu? She wanted to see who this Mr. Gu is.

Soon, the boy came back and said to Su Lingrong and Su Lingyun: "Mr. Gu said the two girls can go back." Then he walked to Su Xi and said: "Miss Su, please come with me."

Su Xi was stunned, slightly surprised. Unexpectedly, Mr. Gu Tong didn't even see him, so he screened out the two people.

Su Lingrong opened her eyes widened and stopped her in front of the boy: "Why is this? Why did Mr. Gu only see her and not us?"

The little boy glanced at Su Lingrong and said truthfully, "Sir, the two girls' fingers are not slender enough and are not suitable for playing the piano." After a pause, he said, "Sir, let you both of you not have to come in the future." After that, Su Lingrong, who was surprised, left behind, led Su Xi towards the bamboo house.

*

The little boy lifted the bamboo curtain and Su Xi saw Mr. Gu sitting behind a small table with black painted mother-of-pearls. He stood over the years, with no white beards on his face. He looked energetic, but his eyebrows were sharp and his eyes seemed to be difficult to get along with. Mr. Gu was posing a piece of paper in front of him, and Su Xi's hand was painted on his head.

Su Xi sat opposite Gutong and said respectfully: "Sir."

Gu Tong looked up at her and said straight to the point: "Why do girls want to learn piano from me?"

Su Xi thought about it for a while and chose to say a few good words first: "Mr. Ji said that your piano skills have reached the pinnacle, and students want to go further."

Mr. Gu raised his eyebrows, but was not moved, and asked again: "Why do you want to make progress? How much progress?"

This question is sharp. Su Xi was silent for a moment, hesitating whether to continue to say beautiful words or be honest. However, when he thought that he had been said to be "Dongshi Xiaopin" to imitate Fu Yi, he couldn't help but say: "I'm not hiding it, my student wants people to see the Qin, and I think of my name."

After a while, Mr. Gu said, "Go back, I won't accept students who are eager for quick success or instant benefits like you."

Su Xi looked up in surprise and said unwillingly: "Sir..."

Mr. Gu did not leave any affection at all, interrupting her and said, "Go back."

Su Xi held back the second half of the sentence and followed the little boy out of the bamboo house. Su Xi turned around three times, but never understood what she said wrong. She hung her head and her enthusiasm when she came was severely hit by Mr. Gu. She was a little depressed and unsuccessful at this moment.

It turned out that she was like Su Lingrong and Su Lingyun. Whether Mr. Gu saw her or not, he was driven back...

As soon as she got on the carriage back, Su Xi sat up suddenly as if she had woken up from a dream. Mr. Gu just said to tell her to "go back", but she didn't have to come in the future! Su Xi was happy and her head hit the roof of the carriage with a "bang" and made her sobb and tears popped out of the corner of her eyes. "Woooo, it hurts so much."

Tinglu asked while rubbing her head gently, "What's so happy to remember?"

Su Xi bit the corner of her mouth and shook her head.

After returning home, Yin learned that Mr. Gu did not accept Su Xi as his disciple, and comforted her and said, "It doesn't matter if you don't accept it. I'll find another gentleman for you. There are so many people in the world who are good at playing the piano."

Su Xi picked up a chopstick and saw no loss on her face. Instead, she said, "Mom, don't worry, give me a few more days." Since she figured it out, her mood suddenly fluctuated and suddenly she had a direction. It was time to know what to do next.

Yin just thought she was forced to smile, but said nothing. Knowing that she liked to eat fish meat, she clamped the tenderest piece on the fish's cheek into her bowl.

On this side, Su Lingrong and Su Lingyun both breathed a sigh of relief when they learned that Su Xi was not taken as a disciple by Mr. Gu, and at the same time they couldn't help but gloat. So what if Su Xi played the piano well, it wouldn't be able to catch Mr. Gu's eyes?

*

Two days later, Su Xi went to Qingshui Mountain again. Mr. Gu Tong didn't even see her this time, so he just asked Xiaotong to take her back.

Su Xi was not discouraged at all, and followed twice and was still turned away.

After learning this day, Su Lingrong stood in front of the carriage and looked at Su Xi. For the first time, she showed a pleasant smile and said, "Sister Xi, don't be stubborn. Since Mr. Gu said he would not accept you, it would be useless if you go there for more times. It would be better to ask my aunt to find another gentleman for you. Oh, I know that there is a gentleman who plays the piano well. Although it is not as good as Mr. Ji, it is enough to teach you. How about I introduce it to you?"

Su Xi got on the carriage, showed off the wrinkles of the skirt with the eight-treasure pattern embroidered golden necklaces, and said politely: "Thank you, cousin Wu, I want to choose a sir myself."

Su Lingrong thought she was a stubborn duck and curled her lips disapprovingly. Su Xi was not smooth recently, and she was in a much more comfortable mood, so she didn't take Su Xi's words to heart at all.

The next day, Su Xi took her piano to Qingshui Mountain. The boy guarding the gate had already remembered her. When he saw her coming again, he smiled embarrassedly: "Miss Su, my husband is resting, I'm afraid it's not convenient to see you."

Su Xi had already figured out Mr. Gu's temperament. She came five times, and Mr. Gu was resting four times. I'm afraid it wasn't a rest, but just didn't want to see her. Su Xi shook her head and said it was okay, "I'm waiting for Mr. Gu to wake up outside the door."

The boy looked at her for a while and saw that she had really laid a mat outside the door and sat down, so he stopped saying anything.

Su Xi asked Tinglu to move her piano down, put it on her legs and try it out, and plucked her fingers and started playing.

The sound of the piano flows, like the flowing clouds and flowing water.

Soon, snowflakes fell from the sky. The weather has become cold recently. This morning, a layer of frost formed on the ground. Unexpectedly, it started to snow during the day. Snowflakes fluttered and fell on Su Xi's head and shoulders. The snowflakes were stained on her big red Su-embroidered peony pattern cloak. The red snow was melting and soaking into her clothes, causing a burst of coolness, but Su Xi's piano sound never stopped.

He heard Lu stomping her feet anxiously. It would be a big deal to wait like this, and she wouldn't have frozen her body. She wanted to persuade Su Xi to go back, but she knew that Su Xi wouldn't listen. Her girl looked at her and was actually the most stubborn in her heart.

Tinglu had to borrow an oil paper umbrella from the child in the yard and hit Su Xi's head, which could at least cover up the wind.

A quarter of an hour later, the little boy smiled and said, "Miss Su, sir, please come in."

Su Xi was delighted and hurriedly asked Tinglu to put away the piano and followed the little boy into the yard.

Standing under the eaves, Su Xi dusted off the snowflakes on her body. Seeing Mr. Gu Tong standing at the door, she stepped forward and said, "Mr. Gu."

Gu Tong was wearing a thick cotton coat, tucked his hands and looked straight ahead and said, "It's good to play."

Su Xi's eyes were curved, like two crescent moons in the sky, and asked, "Sir, are you willing to teach me?"

Gu Tong walked back into the room with a plain tone: "I didn't say that."

"Sir." Su Xi called Mr. Gu Tong, thought for a while, and said what he had thought for several days. "I was wrong that day. I shouldn't have learned it for the sake of learning. Playing the piano is an elegant thing, but I turned it into a common thing. Can you please teach me more in the future? I will follow the teacher to study hard and not embarrass you."

Gu Tong paused and said, "Come in and talk."

Su Xi hurriedly followed in.

Mr. Gu Tong sat behind the small table of vermilion, poured two cups of tea, pushed one cup in front of Su Xi, and said without changing his expression: "I have been talking about it first. I have lived in Qingshui Mountain for nearly twenty years and I am reluctant to leave here, so I will not leave the mountain."

Su Xi nodded repeatedly and said with great pleasure: "Don't worry, sir, the student will not force you to come home with me. You teach me how to play the piano, I should come to you."

Mr. Gu Tong looked at her. This girl was extremely smart. Before she could say anything, she realized everything. Gu Tong chuckled softly and said, "Then come over from tomorrow."

After returning home, Yin learned that Mr. Gu Tong had accepted Su Xi as his closed disciple. He was happy and hurriedly said that he would go to the warehouse to choose a thank-you gift and go to Qingshui Mountain to visit Mr. Gu in person tomorrow. Su Xi did not stop her, and she also felt that she should thank Mr. Gu for giving another apprenticeship ceremony so that she could express her respect for Mr. Gu.

The next day, Su Xi became a disciple and officially started learning piano with Mr. Gu Tong.

As for Su Lingrong and Su Lingyun, there are naturally some people who are happy and some are worried.
