Chapter 773 The Overlord Treaty (1)

In early March of the second year of Datong.

After nearly half a year of fighting and negotiations, China and the Finnish country finally reached an agreement to discuss peace and stop the war.

The terms of peace talks are as follows:

1. The Jin army unconditionally withdrew from Yan land before April 1, including Gubei, Songting and other Yan lands. Before June 1, the Jin people unconditionally withdrew from Enzhou-Weichang south. Both sides used Enzhou-Weichang as the national border. In other words, the Jin Kingdom ceded all the land south of its Dading Prefecture (i.e., Liaozhongjing) to Dazhong.

2. The Jin Kingdom paid 5 million taels of gold and 50 million taels of silver, 20,000 jin of high-class ginseng, 10,000 jin of deer antler, 10,000 minks of marten, 10,000 horses, 10,000 jin of horses, 10,000 jin of cattle and mules, and 1,000 jin of camels. Because the amount of compensation was too large, the Jin Kingdom could not take it out at once. The Jin Kingdom temporarily paid 500,000 taels of gold and 5 million taels of silver before July 1st, 2,000 jin of high-class ginseng, 2,000 jin of deer antler, 2,000 minks, 10,000 horses, 3,000 jin of cattle and mules, and 500 camels. The remaining compensation was paid to Dazhong in ten years.

3. Later, the Jin Dynasty paid tribute to Dazhong every year and came to Dazhong every year to congratulate him, with annual monies of 7 million taels of silver each year.

4. The Jin Kingdom was a large vassal state, and the Jin Emperor respectfully called the Chinese emperor the uncle.

As soon as this peace agreement comes out, the world will be in a big uproar!

Why do you think?

It is just because this peace treaty is too unreasonable and it is simply a hegemonic treaty.

Take the first one for example.

If this peace treaty is really implemented, then the Great Jin Kingdom will not be much greater than that of the Southern Song Dynasty. It can be said that the Jurchens worked hard for more than ten years, and hundreds of thousands of casualties were all in vain.

Let’s talk about the second one.

This is a completely replica of the Jin people extorted the Northern Song Dynasty.

At the beginning, Zhao Huan gave all the treasures accumulated by Zhao Song over the past two hundred years to the Jin people, but it was not enough. In the end, he mortgaged all the daughters of the Zhao Song royal family and royal family to the Jin people, and barely collected so much compensation.

There are also tributes that come to the court every year and 7 million taels of silver. The Jin Kingdom was called a vassal state, and Wu Qimai of Wanyan called Li Yan uncle.

All of these are uncontroversial and sincere blackmail.

Many people shook their heads and said, "This is not done by a benevolent king."

The key is that such a treaty is definitely something that the Great Jin Kingdom cannot tolerate for a long time. The reason why the Great Jin Kingdom agreed to such a treaty was a delaying strategy. When the Great Jin Kingdom eliminated its internal hidden dangers, it would inevitably retaliate and would inevitably attack Dazhong.

How can such a treaty ensure peace forever?

Of course, there are also those who support this treaty.

Those who support it think:

What happened to the cede the land south of Enzhou-Eastland? These areas were not originally from the Jurchens, but from us Han people at the beginning. They were from the Liao Kingdom more than ten years ago. They were from the Jurchens who relied on their own strength to force and snatched them from the Liao Kingdom. Now the military power of Dazhong is stronger than that of the Jin Kingdom. These areas should belong to Dazhong. If there is nothing inappropriate here.

As for war indemnities, annual monies, and vassals, the emperors of the two countries used their uncles and nephews to discuss them, they were all mentioned by the Jin people to the Northern Song Dynasty. If you promise you to be the first day of the lunar month, you promised me to be the fifteenth day. Why? You Jin people forced Zhao Song to lose all their money and use your wife, daughter and mother to pay off the debt. You are not allowed to repay him by the way?

Disobey, retaliate?

Then fight well. I am a big middle school, strong soldiers and advanced weapons. Can I still be afraid of you as a small vassal state?

Faced with the discussion, Li Yan unwaveringly ordered and immediately implemented the peace treaty.

Why did Li Yan insist on this overlord treaty?

There is certainly a reason for this.

Just as those who agree with this contract think, Li Yan also thinks that if you allow you to be the first day of the lunar month, you will be allowed to be the fifteenth day of the lunar month.

Of course, as the head of a country and the highest decision-maker of a force, Li Yan could not be so superficial or act so impulsively.

The main reason why Li Yan insisted on this treaty was:

First, Dazhong killed more than 100,000 Jurchens, castrated tens of thousands of Jurchens and sent them to endless mining, and plundered a large number of Jurchen women. He had formed an endless hatred with the Jurchens who were vindictive. This overwhelming hatred would never end unless one side was exterminated. Li Yan knew better than anyone else, so even if Dazhong didn't argue with the Jin Kingdom now, he would definitely seek revenge on Dazhong after the Jin Kingdom recovered.

Since this is the case, Dazhong simply took advantage of the Jurchens' danger and blackmailed them more, because this can increase and deteriorate, and delay the time for Jurchens to seek revenge on themselves.

In fact, none of these are the real reasons why Li Yan and Jin Kingdom signed this overlord treaty.

To be honest, don’t look at the gold price of 5 million taels, the silver price of 50 million taels, the top ginseng 20,000 jin, the deer antler 10,000 jin, the mink 10,000 jin, the mink 10,000 jin, the marten 10,000 horses, cattle and mules, the camel 1,000, and the annual annual 7 million taels of silver each year, but Li Yan didn’t look down on these goods at all.

After the Yanjing was conquered by Yue Fei this time, Li Yan won not only Yanjing and some Jurchen women, but also a lot of wealth.

The Jin people wanted to return north, but what they wanted to take away was not only their families, but also a large number of treasures and property they plundered from the Northern Song Dynasty, including them from the Liao Kingdom.

Before going to the battlefield, the Jin people placed all their families and property in Yanjing.

As a result, all these were taken away by Yue Fei and Wang De.

Later, when offering prisoners, Wang De presented these treasures to Li Yan.

It can be said that when the Jin people went south, they not only had no money to get, but they also had to pay a lot of money.

Of course, Li Yan looked down on these war reparations and annual monies, because Li Yan controlled the international maritime trade.

At the end of last year, Jiang Jing reported a statement with Li Yan.

Two of this account are the most dazzling.

First, throughout the year last year, the customs revenue of Dazhong reached more than 120 million yuan.

Second, the large-scale official businessmen, that is, the official businessmen who became the leader, made more than 280 million yuan in the whole year last year.

These two items alone, Dazhong earned 400 million yuan in the whole year last year!

Li Yan, who held the treasure pot of maritime international trade, did not even look at the war compensation and annual monies that the Jin people agreed to. Moreover, it is not certain that how many war compensation and annual monies could the Jin people give in the end. Perhaps, after giving the first war compensation and annual monies, the two countries started war again, and the latter became a bunch of numbers that could never be fulfilled.

So, what Li Yan really wants is not money at all.

What is that?

The answer is…territory.

To be precise, it is Enzhou--this part of the territory south of Weichang to north of Yanyun.

In the eyes of many people in this era, for the Han people, there is no use for Mao. As long as the Han people have Yanyun and lock the Hu people outside the Great Wall, they can live their own happy life.

But Li Yan, who has a vision beyond this era, clearly knows that thinking this way is a big mistake.
