In 20XX, a large-scale epidemic plague broke out in Shavana, Georgia, USA. This plague was caused by a mutant rabies virus. It spread rapidly as soon as it broke out. After being infected with this virus, humans mutated into zombies and spread by attacking others. Soon the plague infected most areas.

At this time, the government quickly organized an epidemic prevention organization, CEDA, to go to the infected area for rescue, in an attempt to treat these infected people, but CEDA's idea was too naive, and the epidemic prevention measures and methods were the same as ordinary influenza. They simply believed that the virus was transmitted from the air.

Because CEDA is quite inefficient, people initially turned their expectations for CEDA into anger. In the end, the plague spread on a large scale, and even infected CEDA's agents wearing so-called chemical defense suits. In the end, CEDA withdrew from the city and replaced it with the army. The army even planned to use nuclear bombs to destroy the city to prevent the spread of the plague.

But there are many survivors in the city who use guns to defend themselves from being infected, and the players are one of a four-person group in this army of survivors.

The story of this work takes place a week later in the southeastern United States, including Shavana and New Orleans French Quarter in Georgia, USA. The game has five chapters and a DLC, including "Dead Center", "One-Side DLC (The Passing), "Dark Carnival", "Swamp Fever", "Hard Rain" and "The Parish".

Dead Center

Immediately afterwards, the four people couldn't catch up with the helicopter that evacuated survivors in Tianzhongtai, the hotel. They could only try to find a way to escape from a nearby shopping mall that was used as the second evacuation point. When the four people arrived at the shopping mall, they realized that the place had been occupied by infected people. They used a sports car to escape from the shopping mall and headed towards New Orleans.

The Passing

After the four of them escaped from the shopping center in sports cars, they passed a suspension bridge. They needed to reach the other side and put down the suspension bridge before they could continue to move forward. And here they met three protagonists in a generation, another old soldier, Bill, who had already died (but it seemed that Louis was missing from the poster).

Dark Carnival

When the sports car drove to the highway, it was found that the road was blocked by the wreckage of the car. It was only possible to walk through the amusement park and use the stage fireworks and lights in the amusement park to attract the attention of the helicopter.

Swamp Fever

After boarding the helicopter, the four people found the pilot infected, and the helicopter crashed at a nearby train station. The four people who survived passed through a swamp and temporarily took refuge in a nearby plantation. In the plantation, the four people contacted the captain of a ship by radio.

Hard Rain

The four wanted to go to New Orleans, but the captain said the ship did not have enough fuel to go. So the four went to a nearby gas station in the rainstorm to look for diesel.
