Chapter 1871 Interlude: Mr. Glass(1/2)

Ilia has been confused, like a soul with nowhere to go, wandering in the world without a place to live. Novel.

And because of his confusion, he was determined.

He firmly believes that superheroes really exist, that they are all about them, that they are indeed there in this world...

Pennsylvania, outside the suburbs of Philadelphia, East Railway 177 train.

David Dunn, an equally inconspicuous man.

He has an ordinary appearance and wants to attract women's attention with his appearance... Although it is not too difficult, it is probably too difficult, and his clothes are difficult to connect with wealth. He is like other people, ordinary and inconspicuous.

But he has also been brilliant.

When he was young, David was a star football player in Philadelphia and almost took the path of a regular football star. Unfortunately, he left the green field with an ankle injury in a car accident.

But it didn't leave too far.

Because he became a sports field security officer.

I don’t know if I can’t let go of my past obsession, to remember something, or... some other reasons.

He had a very happy marriage. His wife met when he was an athlete in college. On the day of a car accident, they were in the same car. They had just confirmed their relationship, but as he rescued her from that car accident, they have been together and have come to the present.

The two have a son.

But there are cracks in this relationship now.

The reason... There is no reason, maybe it is just simple, I feel that the two of them no longer co-star.

David went to New York alone, trying to find some new jobs, but obviously, he was sitting on the Philadelphia return line and did not find a suitable job.

Sitting tiredly by the window, David sighed.

Then…he seemed to hear some abnormal sound.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

This is the sound of the train's wheels hitting the track.

David looked at the wheels under the window in confusion.

The train is getting faster and faster, making the scene outside blurry and...

"boom!"

The darkness in front of us was the last color before David was unconscious.

When he woke up again, the roar of the train, the roar of the rails, the screams and despair of the crowd seemed to appear before his eyes.

But when David's eyes gradually gathered from the dispersion, he realized that he was no longer on the train.

He is in the hospital.

"How are you, sir."

"Click!"

The doctor turned on the medical flashlight and pointed it into his eyes.

"Look at this, sir, what are these."

"one."

David gently pushed away the doctor in front of him.

The white was pushed away, and it was the angel in white, the white coat, the color of heaven, and then the red one filled his eyes.

There was still a man lying on the operating bed next to him. His neck and chest were covered by the surgical cloth, but large pieces of blood surged up, and the surgical cloth was soon dyed bright red.

Bright red.

"How are you, sir."

The doctor asked again.

David nodded.

In fact, he didn't feel anything wrong with him or her physically wrong. His body still seemed to be very healthy, his limbs were still pressing, his heart was still beating, and there was no problem even now that he was immediately allowed to run outside for several laps.

It was like he was usually not as good as he did, and he seemed to have never experienced a disaster.

But he...he was just a little confused.

Hearing David's answer, the doctor's expression seemed to become a little strange, surprised, confused, even disbelief and scared.

It's more of a look at miracles.

"Do you know, sir... you are the only two survivors."

As he said that, an electrocardiogram warning sound appeared behind him. The doctor looked back and found that it had become a straight line. The heart of the person with bleeding chest that was being rescued had stopped beating.

Then the doctor turned back again.

"Now you are the only one."

"And you were completely unscathed, and you couldn't even find a wound on your body."

The doctor's tone was full of incredibleness.

But David no longer wanted to hear it, so he slowly walked down the operating bed.

"Where were you sitting on the train at that time..."

The doctor was still marveling, but David had already pushed open the door and walked out.

He could no longer hear more things. He came to the corridor of the hospital in a daze and saw his wife who was also confused about their relationship.

And the children waiting for him.

Until he arrived home, he seemed to have been in a daze... After surviving the accident, he has been like this.

The East Railway train 177, New York to Philadelphia, two trains collided, and the major accident occurred, killing 131 passengers, and he was the only survivor.

He attended the funeral of the victims in a daze and returned to his car in a daze until... he saw a letter in front of his car window.

The content in the letter is very simple, with only one line of words.

"Do you still remember the last time you got sick?"

This sentence is like having some kind of magic, which completely opened up David's memory. He began to constantly recall his past experiences and scenes, and kept trying to remember the last time he got sick, or... whether he had ever been sick.

Then... as these ignored memories were remembered again, he finally realized something.

He has never been sick or injured.

David experienced many disasters in his half life, in fact, there were actually not many disasters. The initial car accident and the sudden fire in the hotel where he lived later. At that time, he was the only one who escaped. Everyone else was trapped in the fire, and this train accident.

Almost every time, he is the only survivor.

So is he surviving or...

According to the address on the letter, David found the person who sent him the letter, Elia Price... the child who suffered from osteophysia back then.

He grew up. Except for his accidental fracture of his right foot, he was unable to completely heal and needed to use a crutch, he grew up safely.

But he has never given up his belief in superheroes for so many years.

He must be more convinced and focused than normal people.

And David is the superhero he noticed.

Obviously, David's experience of the only survivor made Ilia notice him. In Ilia's vision, the two of them were like a curve.

David is on the other end, and he is on this end.

He was vulnerable and even went down the stairs to face the threat of death, while David was strong, strong enough to destroy him.

Except for water.

David found Elia, and Elia told him his theory, of course David did not believe it.

He thinks Ilia is a lunatic.

Or... he lives too much in his own world.

In order to avoid being targeted by a madman, David told Ilya that he was not invincible. He drowned when he was a child and almost drowned.

This was the news that he accidentally learned from an old teacher when he was looking for when he had been sick not long ago.

I thought Ilia would give up this unrealistic idea after hearing it, but unexpectedly, Ilia seemed to believe it more firmly.

Because in the comics, if a superhero is too powerful, there must be something that can restrain him.

For example, Superman, he is too powerful, so powerful that no one can defeat, so he has weaknesses, that is... kryptonite.

Maybe David is too strong. In their world, David is like a superman, so he must have weaknesses, and his weaknesses... are naturally water.

This weakness did not make Elia believe that David was not the superhero he was looking for, but instead made him more convinced that David was the person he was looking for.

David doesn't believe it, it doesn't matter. Most heroes don't believe in their own specialness at the beginning, because they haven't realized their identity yet.

Ilia became more excited.

Because in his opinion, the encounter between them was like... the beginning of fate, the gears of fate were rotating.
To be continued...
