Even if the temple is already suffering from severe aesthetic fatigue, the temples of Abu Simbel and Karnak should not be missed. △
The Karnak Temple was built during the Middle Dynasty and was built until the last Pharaoh period of the New Dynasty. Because during this period, Luxor (Thebes at that time) was the capital of Egypt, and the pharaohs were so keen on building temples, the capital naturally gathered the most brilliant temple buildings. The Karnak Temple was in the shape of a "t" and also included a holy lake where the priests were cleansed.
The first thing that caught my eye was the last pharaoh who had not been able to build the tower gate. Although it was not built, this tower gate was still the largest tower gate in Egypt (the second one is the Temple of Edford). Since it was not built, there were also earth and stone steps for building the tower gate inside the tower gate, which let us understand the methods of the ancient Egyptians to build the tower gate.
When you approach the tower gate, you can see two rows of ram stone statues in front of the tower gate. They look really similar to those of the Thirteen Tombs. I wonder if the emperor of China borrowed this inspiration. It seems that the road of this ram stone statue originally extended to the Luxor Temple, but has not been completely excavated now.
The first hall has some statues and stone pillars, and the most spectacular part of the Karnak Temple is undoubtedly the second hall, that is, the column hall. Entering the column hall is really shocking. This great column hall has 134 huge stone pillars, belonging to Ramses II. The carvings on the stone pillars record the scene of Ramses II fighting with the enemy. It can be seen that these stone pillars all play the role of monuments. There is not a completely closed roof above the stone pillar, but there are huge stones with staggered heights on the columns, so that light can partially enter the column hall and structure
It gives a sense of sacredness - of course, the pillar hall is basically completely out of the top. These stone pillars are not carved in complete stones, but are made up of several cylindrical stones, so these 134 stone pillars are basically completed at the same time - the workers first put the first layer of all the stone pillars in the designed position. Then fill the sand in the place without the stone pillars to facilitate the placement of the second layer of stone pillars, and then fill it with sand, and so on. After the construction is completed, the sand will be taken out and all the stone pillars will appear at the same time - a very clever method.
If you can come to the pillar hall in the morning or evening, the tilted light and shadow will definitely bring a more sacred color. In addition, "The Tragedy on the Nile" was filmed here.
After passing the column hall, you can see several obelisks, one of which belongs to Hatshepsut, because the colors on the upper and lower obelisks are inconsistent. Meerard said that it was written on the obelisk that this obelisk was a gift from the queen to his father, the Sun God. Later, Thutmos III did not want people to see this inscription, so he surrounded the lower part of the obelisk with a pile of stones. After a long period of wind and sun, the upper and lower parts of the obelisk became two colors.
At Karnak Temple, you will find that the lower half of most buildings has been repaired and rebuilt. It seems that because it was often flooded by the Nile River, the stone foundations of the building were actually seriously eroded and caused collapse. Later, it was only after restoration that the former glory was partially restored.
There are many more about the Karnak Temple. If you have enough time, you can actually learn about it carefully, such as making a wish around the scarab stone statue, the archaeologists' signature "going here" on the temple stones, etc. Unfortunately, Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo don't have much time, and the light in summer is too strong, so you can only choose the key points to read.
Melad said: The Temple of Karnak enshrines the Sun God, while the Temple of Luxor enshrines the Sun God’s wife (in fact, the Sun God is the Trinity of the husband, wife and son).
There is a sphinx road in front of the temple of Luxor, which leads to the temple of Karnak. It is said that the Egyptian government intends to concentrate on excavating the undiscovered part of the road. It is planned to restore the road. Perhaps in a few years, you can follow the road to Karnak and Luxor Temples again.
The ancient Egyptians were also more concerned about God's love life. Every year, they sent the sun statue in the Temple of Karnak to Luxor to gather with his wife for a few days to rest. The murals of the Temple of Luxor also mainly record this ceremony.
A more distinctive place in the Luxor Temple is that there are three religious ruins here. Needless to say, the polytheism of the Pharaoh period, there were also Arabs who invaded Egypt as mosques, and when Christians emerged, they regarded it as a church. Mosque-style buildings appeared on the walls of the temple, and the temple also had thrilling Christian colored murals (Milard said it depicts the last supper), which was quite interesting.
The shrine also has some characteristics. The outer layer was built during the III of Amenhotep III, and the inner layer was built during the Alexander period. Alexander built the shrine here to prove that he was qualified to be an Egyptian pharaoh. One detail - the outer layer of the reliefs from the pharaoh period did not depict human toes, and there were no detailed ups and downs at the knees. The reliefs from the Alexander period were carefully depicted, which also reflected the differences in art in different periods. Mirad explained to Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo that the pharaoh worshipped the god of fertility on the mural (Mirad called it "Jiba* God"), which solved a question about Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo looking at the temple of Abu Simbel... It turned out that the very prominent statue of the god of Abu Simbel in the temple was not the god of Abu Simbel and Yunluo who originally believed to be Amen, but the god of fertility.
It takes 5 hours to leave Luxor to take a bus to Helgada, the city by the Red Sea. It takes a long time and the journey is very hard. Because I went to many attractions today under the scorching sun, I took a long-distance bus. When I arrived at the Red Sea, I almost broke up. However, the Red Sea is worthy of being a vacation destination. When I entered the resort, I felt like I was alive. The facilities here are relatively high-end. The room is very spacious and comfortable. You can see the sea by opening the window. Have dinner, take a shower, get rid of the fatigue of the day, and have a good rest to prepare for the trip later.
When you walk to Luxor, you may have become a little tired of aesthetic aesthetics, but the Valley of the Emperor is a concept of two different concepts, so you cannot miss it.
If you have the chance in Luxor, you can also go to the Queen Valley. There is a mural of Nafertari. Just looking at the pictures on the Internet, you will feel that it is so beautiful. There is a fragrance store in the resort where Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo live. Tourists from other groups said that this place is cheaper than the place brought by the tour guide, so Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo also bought some. But no one can say whether it is true or false.
Egyptians are very enthusiastic about Chinese people, and many people will greet you with "Hello". A shop owner also wrote at the door, "My wife is Chinese, so you can get this cheap price and love your neighbors Chinese." The Karnak Temple can be left for more time, and it should be better if you can go in the evening.
The drinks in the resort where Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo live can be drunk at will, free of charge. However, it is limited to the refrigerator in the room and the bars set up everywhere. Please ask the waiter to make a cup; if the waiter wants you to get a whole bottle, it will be charged.
Why is the Red Sea called the Red Sea? Mellard said it is because of the red corals. The books Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo read said that because the setting sun shines on Mount Sinai, the sea water is not red. The Red Sea is a place for vacation. Since it takes about 3 hours to fly to the Red Sea, many Europeans come here for vacation.
There should be many cities to choose from when you are on the Red Sea. The most famous one should be Sharm El Sheikh at the top of the Sinai Peninsula, but it should be a bit more luxurious. The itinerary of Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo is not here. Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo go to a place called hurhgada on the west coast of the Red Sea. There are many translations, such as Helgada, Guldai, Red Lobs, etc. In fact, the resorts here are also quite high-end, at least in the eyes of Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo.
The group of Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo can choose sand-flooding and glass boats. According to the participants, the costs are quite good. The costs are US$60 and US$55 respectively. Sand-flooding refers to "rushing into the desert". It is not a sand-sliding project that Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo imagined at the beginning, but someone drove you to race in the desert in a jeep. This project also includes watching the desert sunrise, riding camels, and Bedouin villages, but it takes 3:30 in the morning, which is a bit tired. The glass boat is a boat to go to sea. The lower layer of the boat is glass, which allows you to see fish and corals in the sea, and you can also snorkeling.
Since Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo did not participate in any self-funded projects, they did not need to get up early. Although they woke up at 5 o'clock, they could be considered to have fallen asleep until they woke up naturally. Compared to the previous day's hard work, it was very comfortable~ Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo planned to blow the sea breeze on the Red Coast and bask in the sun for a comfortable morning~ (I wanted to see the sunrise in the Red Sea, but unfortunately I didn't catch up)
In fact, Yunluo felt that if you don’t have enough time like Nalan Shuqi and Yunluo (basically only have half a day in the Red Sea), you might as well not participate in any self-paid projects. Just step on the water, swim and adjust the fatigue of the journey. Of course, if you have plenty of time, it’s best to participate in diving - not snorkeling, you can get close to the fish and red corals in the Red Sea, which should be more interesting than other projects.
Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo came to the beach early in the morning. There were almost no people on the beach in the morning, quiet and only the sound of waves could be heard. The sunlight was not so strong. The sea breeze blew, and it was soft and comfortable. The sea water was simply transparent, and there was almost no salty smell. The coast was very clean, and you could even see two or three hermit crabs. After breakfast, the beach gradually became lively.
