589 Situation

After this trip to Central and Eastern Europe, Li Xiaofeng felt much more comfortable. With Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Austria, Romania, Bulgaria, Albania, Greece, and Lovenia officially announced their joining the CIS and the World Communist League, the Soviet Union's basic plan in Central and Eastern Europe was solid.

The stability of Central and Eastern Europe can allow Li Xiaofeng to focus more on other directions, such as Türkiye and China.

Let’s talk about Turkey first. The battle commanded by Huasilevsky was generally smooth. The Soviet Red Army has steadily taken over the west side of the strait and occupied most of the side of the west side. Now the Red Army’s troops have pointed directly at Istanbul. This may be the first time that Christian forces have arrived in this "New Rome" city since the fall of Constantinople in 1453.

This is still the Western Front. Because the space is small and the Turks are relatively tightly prepared, the Red Army did not launch the so-called large-scale deep combat, but instead pushed the "slow" line to push them back step by step with powerful firepower beyond the Turks.

On the contrary, the Red Army fought on the Asian Minor side of the Eastern Front, even if they were fighting in the mountains, the Red Army had already shown strong assault speed. The troops trained by Konev had accumulated rich experience in the mountains in the central Balkans. Although the Turkish army was brave and tenacious, they were much worse than the Red Army in terms of combat experience and weapons and equipment. Once their sharpness was consumed, the rhythm on the battlefield was completely controlled by the Red Army.

What's more, Turkey is still attacked from both sides, and the Kurds are still undermining their power behind them. The Kurds, who have suppressed hundreds of years, are really fighting with Turkey for national independence and liberation. Not only are they playing guerrilla warfare, but they also concentrate their troops to fight one or two mobile wars every now and then. In short, the situation in Turkey is quite unsatisfactory. It is only a matter of time before their collapse on the Eastern Front.

Under this situation, James Bones visited Turkey urgently. It has to be said that James Bones's predecessor, Stedinius, was really a tragedy. The Secretary of State, who had worked for only half a year, was laid off. Compared with his predecessor Condell Hull, this person's career is simply negligible (Hull worked from March 4, 1933 to November 30, 1944, for more than 11 years!).

However, it cannot be blamed for not giving Stedenius face. His work has been too unremarkable in the past six months. Faced with the complex situation at the end of World War II, Stedenius seemed to be helpless. He was run poorly by the Soviet Union on all fronts, and he had almost no achievements.

Although Truman ascended the throne as vice president, this does not mean that Truman just wants to be a substitute and go home to retire. He is also ambitious and is preparing to be re-elected for one term so that the world knows that he is not able to take office by Roosevelt.

Turman, who was about to work hard, naturally did not like the inaction of Stededinius, so he fired his squid without hesitation and replaced him with James Bones to help.

James Bones's task is not light. He needs to comprehensively change the passive situation of the United States in Europe. After taking office, the new secretary of state first turned his attention to Turkey. In his opinion, the United States can use the Turkey card to do a lot of work.

"The Soviet Union's ambitions will put them on the road of external expansion," James Bones said to Truman. "They now have the world's number one army and the world's top three air force, and are still actively developing maritime power. From a conventional force, they are world-class. They also have a strong nuclear arsenal. The powerful army has made the Soviet Union a little fluttering. From a historical perspective, they have been willing to expand, but now they may not have any force to stop their expansion. Look at what they do in Germany and Greece, everything is clear. The Soviet Union will continue to expand in the future!"

After a little pause, James Bones continued: "However, I think the ambitions of the Soviet Union are not in line with the basic strength of the Soviet Union. They look very strong, but their economic foundation is very bad, the industrial structure has lost balance, and European countries are increasingly afraid of their strength. We must make good use of this fear and win over more European countries to our side. At the same time, we should do everything possible to weaken and consume the strength of the Soviet Union. Turkey is a very good platform. This country cannot succumb to the threat of the Soviet Union. They will fight the Russians to the end. All we need to do is to give them some support. Once the Soviet Union falls into the quagmire of Turkey, it will be our turn to fight back!"

According to James Bones' plan, Turkey will be given 200 million US dollars in economic aid and 100 million US dollars in military aid. What the Turks need to pay is a promise that will never be discussed separately by the Soviet Union. This requirement is not an excessive demand for those who come to Turkey. A verbal promise can be exchanged for 300 million US dollars, and it is a fool who refuses to agree. Even the Turks think they can do more, and they suggest:

"Türkiye is willing to form an alliance with the United States to fight the communism. The spread of communism is believed that only an alliance led by the United States can curb Russia's ambitions."

To put it bluntly, Turkey is preparing to be a godfather of the United States. If it were the past, the Americans would naturally accept this godson without saying a word. But the situation is different now. Turkey, which is fighting with the Soviet Union, is really hard to say. Even if it is James Borns, thinks Turkey is a good way to cheat the Soviet Union, but he is really not optimistic about Turkey's ability to stop the aggressive polar bears. Perhaps in the eyes of the Americans, Turkey is just cannon fodder, which is used to consume the Soviet Union's disposable consumer goods. They are still not optimistic about Turkey from the bottom of their hearts, so it's better to make an alliance. The United States is not ready to fight with the polar bears in person for the time being.

After leaving Turkey, James Bones did not return to Washington, but continued to visit Central and Eastern European countries. For Americans, even if this country was brought out by the Soviet Union, they had to test it. Whoever dared to say that I would have the same heart as the elder brother. Isn’t international politics just about whoever bids high and whom? Of course, James Bones doesn’t think that Central and Eastern Europe will be mixed with the United States for money, but it’s better to sell it to win over the polar bears and distract the relationship between the two sides, and create some trouble for the polar bears.

James Bones can be said to have walked off the plane with a checkbook. Whether in Romania, Hungary or Czechoslovakia, this guy is always compassionate, opens his help and keeps his support, looking like the nouveau riche coal boss in later generations.

Who doesn’t like being stupid and having too much money? What’s more, Li Xiaofeng has already given a reassurance to Central and Eastern European countries before, and he almost said directly that you should kill the American tyrants and don’t be polite. The Soviet Union supports you to do this.

In this way, Central and Eastern European countries naturally knew how to welcome this rich secretary of state. Anyway, it was a great welcome, and even spoke of the great contributions of the arsenal of the democratic countries in World War II were repeated three times and three times, but it was an extremely friendly attitude towards the United States.

This posture naturally made James Bones very useful, so that the newly appointed Secretary of State had an illusion that the Russians were extremely unpopular in Central and Eastern Europe, and even the socialist camp hoped that the royal army would come to rescue him.

Think about it, James Bones originally came out to give money. He was worried before that Central and Eastern Europe refused to accept money. Now that favors are welcomed with such a warm welcome, the money box is still open.

Soon, a series of rescue and economic aid programs were passed, and Central and Eastern European countries would receive an average prize of more than 150 million US dollars in the next three years. Of course, Americans are not living Lei Feng, and they also have conditions. At the beginning, the Americans were conditioned that Central and Eastern European countries would open the market to the United States in full, so that the money would be really aid and there was no need to pay it back. However, Central and Eastern European countries would definitely not agree to this point, and they could neither do nor dare. They said to James Bones very tactfully: "The United States is far away, and the Soviet Union is very close." The meaning is nothing more than that the Soviet Union would not agree.

James Bones also expressed his understanding of this. In fact, he proposed this condition as a test. If 25 really agreed, it would be a great thing. This is equivalent to growing vegetables casually on the Soviet Union's private land, which was considered avenge for the previous German issue. Of course, the result was that there was no 25, but James Bones was not disappointed. This was equivalent to being accused of the relationship between them and the Soviet Union. It was not that there was no money for aid, who didn't want? It was because the annoying Soviet aid turned into a loan. It was really annoying!

Yes, aid has become a low-interest loan. How low is the interest? It is really negligible. Even James Bones also hinted that as long as Central and Eastern European countries maintain friendly relations with the United States and do not follow the Soviet Union, it doesn't matter whether the loan will be paid or not in the future.

James Bones was really proud when he left Central and Eastern Europe. In his opinion, this was a breakthrough trip. His visit opened up the deadlock in Central and Eastern Europe, allowing those countries that seemed to follow the Soviet Union to actually embark on a path that is not pro-American, but at least neutral. This is a pioneering event!

The American public opinion was also very acclaimed, because the media in Central and Eastern European countries had praised James Bones's trip, while the Soviet Union was so sad that it could not speak. This was the first major victory after facing the Soviet Union's defeat at the end of World War II!

Anyway, Americans highly praised James Bones' diplomatic achievements, believing that Truman had indeed chosen a wise diplomatic and secretary of state as a secretary of state with a keen eye. Truman's approval rating has also increased significantly.

Logically speaking, this should be happy, but Roosevelt, who was watching coldly, could not be happy at all. In his letter to Churchill, he said: "The most terrifying thing in politics is innocence, but now our people and some of our political figures are very naive. After spending a lot of money, they only gain a lot of verbal praise? What's the use of this?"

Churchill was also very worried about this because Learwin told him: "This is a trap between the Soviet Union and Central and Eastern European countries. According to the information I have, Central and Eastern European countries have decided to join the Soviet-led CIS and the World Communist League, and verbally show goodwill to the Americans. This is just a cheating attack."

You can't say that Americans sometimes have a lot of suspicions. Of course, the one who suspicions is not in Europe. After all, they still give praise and praise after spending money in Central and Eastern European countries. In China, they are really the suspicions that they will be beaten by the Democratic Party after spending money.

Yes, Mr. Jiang is very dissatisfied with the United States. The reason is very simple. He believes that the United States does not give him the greatest support, but is constantly dragging his feet. Why did Mr. Jiang say so?

It still has to start with the peaceful negotiations between the Communist Party. From the beginning of the negotiations, Mr. Jiang's established policy was to set up obstacles. He kept making some demands, and even deliberately opened his mouth. Anyway, his meaning was to force the Communist Party to actively interrupt the negotiations, and then he could use the opportunity to play to fight a civil war.

So in Chiang Kai-shek's view, Marshall and the US mediation representatives should stand on his side and completely help him speak for him and put pressure on T-communist. But this is not the case in the real negotiations. Although Marshall is directing him, he is not the kind of decisive and decisive bias. On some key issues, Marshall does not support him enough. This leads to the overwhelming pressure on T-communist on certain key issues. On the contrary, T-communist is determined by reason and mobilizes other democratic parties. The dominant parties and the masses put huge pressure on Jiang.

Mr. Jiang’s core idea was to fight a civil war and eliminate the T-communist, but now in the negotiations, he failed to achieve the effect of forcing the T-communist to voluntarily withdraw from the negotiations. Instead, this negotiation was stuttering and moving on a route that Mr. Jiang would never want to go to the coalition government.

Mr. Jiang really doesn't want any coalition government. What he wants is a word of all, and it means unification of the country. Now a big head of power is actually being separated by a t-share. How can he tolerate this? Sometimes he is willing to take the initiative to turn over the table and do it.

But what made Mr. Jiang feel frustrated was that he really dared not take the initiative to turn the table up now. The first is the attitude of the United States, the second is the public opinion, and the third is the lack of strength and lack of preparation.

Let’s talk about it one by one. Marshall’s attitude made Mr. Jiang feel unsure. He really didn’t know whether the United States supports him so much, otherwise why would he feel very swaying?

Jiang’s feelings are not wrong. The United States is indeed very swaying in its policy towards China. As mentioned earlier, Truman really wants to curb communism in China and wants to stick to this position, but at the same time he really has no good impression of Jiang. Therefore, the United States represented by Marshall inevitably wants to oppose the Communist Party and the Communist Party and anti-Cheng. On the one hand, they will support the Democratic Party, but on the other hand, they are unwilling to make people feel that they are both in love with the Democratic Party. In this way, the support must be discounted. On some issues, they will support Jiang, but on other issues they will not wear a pair of pants with Jiang.

The second article is not to mention the public opinion. Since 1942, the tenacious resistance of the Communist Party and the passive resistance of the Democratic Party have made the whole country clearly see clearly, especially in 1944, when the Democratic Party was defeated, the Communist Party was strategically counterattacking a large-scale system to eliminate the Japanese. This made the Communist Party lose its reputation, and when the current negotiations to establish a coalition government, every suggestion of the Communist Party is based on the interests of the people of the whole country, and sometimes even sacrifices the interests of its own party. This approach of taking the overall situation into consideration and deliberately setting up obstacles is another sharp contrast. This led to the continued decline of the reputation of the Democratic Party and Mr. Jiang, and the pressure brought by him also forced Mr. Jiang to be more cautious.

As for the third article, this is actually the fundamental reason why Mr. Jiang maintained restraint. The scene of the t-communist fighting an annihilation war in the late stage of the War of Resistance Against Japan is still vivid in my mind. Moreover, Yan Laoxi was beaten up in the temptation of Shangdang before. All of these fully demonstrate that the t-communist is no longer the same as before. To eliminate them, they must make more sufficient preparations.

So in the past few months, Mr. Jiang was busy calling on his American godfather to transport the elite Indian expeditionary force back to the country. Before this group of elite troops took office, he really did not dare to be too provocative. Overall, the civil war in China was about to come.

In this regard, kgb also provided a lot of intelligence support to ****, such as the bottom line of the US policy toward China. This fundamentally prevented **** from being confused by the Democratic Party. While the Democratic Party actively prepared for the civil war, the Communist Party was also making final preparations.

The factory in the Northeast rumbled again, and a large number of resources, including weapons and ammunition, were continuously sent to the front-line troops. With this large rear, the combat power of the Communist Party is like a tiger.

Of course, this is not the point. When the Democratic Party was sharpening its swords, the **** was also carrying out a new round of reorganization. A large number of second-line troops were supplemented into the field troops and began to be replaced with German weapons. Although the total number of the 1.5 million armed forces did not change, the nature had undergone earth-shaking changes.

The original T-Consensus second-tier troops, such as guerrillas, may have a total of nearly one million, and the real main force on the front line is 500,000. However, after this round of reorganization, about 300,000 second-tier troops were re-armed and become first-tier troops. In other words, the main force who can fight tough battles accounted for half of the total.

Don’t underestimate that **** only has 800,000 main force, but at that time, the Democratic Party claimed to have 8 million, which seemed to be a tenfold gap. But the two sides said that these 8 million troops were also pork infused with water, a considerable number of them were local militia and cannon fodder. After removing these moisture, the Democratic Party could actually fight the troops that were about 2 million, and the strength gap was about three to one.

Moreover, the equipment levels of the main forces of the Democratic Party are also uneven. In addition to the five main forces of the Democratic Party that can meet the standards of the US Imperial Light Infantry Division, the other Democratic Party troops, even the direct equipment of the Chiang Kai-shek army may not be particularly good. For example, Huang Baitao's 25th Division performed no worse than the five main forces in the Liberation War, but this 25th Division did not have American equipment (because it was born in a miscellaneous brand) but a full set of ghost equipment. The so-called ghost equipment is actually Japanese equipment, which is armed with arms after Japan's surrender.

Even miscellaneous brands like Huang Baitao's 25th Division are pretty good. They prove their value to the central government, so they have ghost equipment. Even worse miscellaneous brands are really not allowed to be seen.

The miscellaneous brands in the scrambled army were not only unavailable, but also had a considerable morale. Especially after the Wuhuashan incident that Mr. Jiang was smart and smart, the conflict between the central government and the miscellaneous brands broke out completely, and the two sides almost disliked each other. For example, the Yunnan Army now almost hated Chiang Kai-shek to death. In history, the uprising of the Yunnan Army greatly accelerated the process of the battle.

Of course, Lao Jiang could not change this historical time and space. He then arranged Long Yun and took the main force of the Yunnan Army to enter Vietnam to surrender. He removed Long Yun's power, and then took the remaining Yunnan Army to the front line.

At that time, Mr. Jiang thought he was very clever and thought that he would solve the Yunnan Army without a single shot and bullet. But to be honest, the impact of this was very bad. To be honest, it was just two-faced and treacherous. Long Yun was solved, and the Yunnan Army was forced to be cannon fodder, but were they willing? Obviously, the generals of the Yunnan Army were quite unhappy. In the future fight against the Communist Party, they would preserve their strength as long as they had the opportunity, especially at the critical moment of the battle, if the limelight was wrong, they would either not save them or revolt on the spot.

Once or twice, Jiang's direct descendants probably couldn't believe these friendly troops. When Jiang's direct descendants really arrived on the battlefield, they might have to be wary of these teammates, and they could fight a good battle with half-hearted intentions?

What's more, the Yunnan Army was not the strongest among the miscellaneous brands at that time. The Guizhou Clan led by Li and Bai saw that Long Yun was being remediated so badly, could he be careful of Jiang? It can be imagined that the Guizhou Clan will definitely not be in the same position as the central government in the future, and will never be lenient when it can cause trouble for Jiang. I'm afraid I'd even hope that I can repair Jiang hard and then sit in the mountains and watch the tiger fight to get the bargain.

Anyway, Mr. Jiang seemed to have dealt with a Yunnan Army, but in fact, other factions across the country, such as the Sichuan Army and the Hunan Army, saw the true face of this guy. The subsequent bandit suppression may have been working but not working hard to preserve their strength as the top priority. In this way, Mr. Jiang could only rely on his own direct line to fight, and even had to be more careful about the miscellaneous counter-attacks, which was simply not worth the effort.

Anyway, in the old saying, Mr. Jiang is a typical example of being clever and suffering a big loss. He also lacks the demeanor that a country leader should have. He violates the most common political truth and unites most of the most torture to attack a small group. In the end, he will inevitably play himself alone... (To be continued.)
