Chapter 3 Gentlemen Not Heroes(2/2)
The school bell rang and the day's course ended. A few minutes later, students without club activities walked out of the school gate in groups of three or five.
Virginia and Evan are one of them.
Just after leaving the school gate, a voice stopped Evan.
Evan looked back and found that it was Audrey, so he greeted warmly: "Hi! Audrey."
Audrey held her schoolbag, reached out to lift the hair in her ears, and looked at Evan and said, "Thank you, Evan! You are a gentleman."
"Hmm? Gentleman?" Evan asked in confusion: "Isn't it a hero? I've driven away a bad guy for you."
Audrey shook her head, looked at Virginia beside Evan, and said, "No, it's my sister's credit."
"Thank you--"
Virginia smiled and introduced herself, "Call me Virginia."
"Thank you sincerely, Virginia."
"See you tomorrow, Evan, please forgive me for taking one step first, the person who came to pick me up."
After thanking him, Audrey trotted to a Ford car parked on the side of the road.
Virginia noticed that Evan's eyes were on Audrey until the figure disappeared into the car.
She suddenly realized, patted her brother's shoulder hard, and smiled, "Evan, my dear brother, you have finally grown up."
Evan did not respond, but asked quietly: "Some people say that beauty and wisdom are usually difficult to coexist. Virginia, do you agree?"
"Of course not! Do you think it's right?"
"No!" Evan said: "And it was a big mistake."
