Chapter 32: A Tough Night
The study in the spiritual world, since Donald obtained the core talent, the environment here has undergone new changes.
There are elves made of flames flying around the chandeliers on the roof of the study, there are small fishes made of water swimming in the fish tank on the side of the study, and there are small birds made of weather rising and falling between the bookshelf... All kinds of elements have their own appearance here.
Not only that, there is a pot of dark green plants on the desk, neither flowers nor grass, more like a tangled collection of vines. It grows and rises, and then shrinks back into a trunk branch. Next to it are the three ancient oil lamps, which are just one light as always, and the dark green flames are churning on it.
Donald sat behind the desk. His clothes were obviously more refined and real than the previous gray robe, and there was a hint of blood floating on it.
Holding a pen in hand, the blue light flowing from the tip of the pen depicts the clock on the white paper, and occasionally tilting your elbows to the side will cause the demon snake to scream in the Colosseum on the right side of the desk.
Dingdang~ Dingdang~ Dingdang~
The sound of metal hitting suddenly sounded in his ears, and Donald's expression stagnated, and the surrounding environment immediately turned into countless light spots and drifted away. Then even Donald disappeared into the spiritual world.
"Hiss~"
Donald woke up from meditation with a gasp. The tingling sensation in his mind made him frown. Being suddenly interrupted during meditation was a trauma for his spirit.
When I opened my eyes, I saw the ceiling in the hotel, like wallpaper painted with morning glory. Although there were heaters in the hotel, Donald still prefers the fireplace, so the room is not dark now, and the firelight illuminates part of the area.
The trance mental state made Donald feel irritated. He wanted to get up and drink water to relieve his sip, but found that his body was no longer under his control.
If it were normal, Donald would immediately think of ghosts or some special force affecting him, and then immediately activate his mental defense to resist.
But at this moment, he did not realize that his spirit was shrouded in an inexplicable sense of fear.
Everything in front of me seemed to have undergone strange changes.
The color of the morning glory wallpaper on the ceiling suddenly deepened. The flowers that should have been stationary were now wrapped around the chandeliers and grew and hung, and the swaying branches and leaves looked like the claws of some kind of beast.
The street lights outside the window shine on something and then the black shadows imprinted in the room at this time have changed into some distorted shape that Donald cannot describe.
Where Donald's vision hadn't noticed, the tentacles in several shadows were climbing up the walls outside the room.
Meow!!!
With a sharp cat moan, the pure white Finger suddenly appeared in front of Donald. He was standing on Donald's chest and roaring in the direction of the window.
And its appearance also smoothly blocked the gains of an existence.
It was not because of the suppression of power or fear, but because other creatures disturbed the hunt, it chose to leave.
Morning glory returned to the wall, the shadows returned to normal, what they should look like, and Donald took Finger into his arms, who snored happily.
Not long after, Donald fell asleep again, and the night was barely normal.
The next morning, everyone shouted to each other and got up from bed because they made an appointment to meet next to the mermaid fountain at 8 o'clock. They felt that they could not think about it anymore.
"Donald, what's wrong with you? I see that your mental state is a bit strange. I have dark circles in the whole night... I didn't sleep last night? It shouldn't be. You are a wizard. As long as you enter the meditation state, can't you easily recover?"
This was the first time Stephanie saw Donald look so uninspired. She just held a fork and forked a fried egg and bit it casually, her eyes kept looking at the tabletop in front of her in a state of no focal length.
"Didn't you hear strange sounds last night?"
When I went to bed last night, Donald didn't think much about it, just thought it was a negative state caused by his meditation being disturbed by the outside world.
However, when the mental recovery was restored early this morning, the more I thought about it, the more I became, the more I felt wrong.
"What sound? Are you unable to sleep by the noise?"
Anthony squeezed some ketchup onto the plate and turned to ask Donald that he had a pretty good sleep last night and did not hear any strange sounds.
"It's a bit like a metal pounding sound... It's okay if Anthony sleeps on the other side and can't hear it, but none of you hear it?"
If he remembered correctly, the voice should have come from outside, Stephanie and the others were next door, and there was no reason not to hear it.
"But we really didn't hear anything. I fell asleep as soon as I touched my pillow."
Julia said while eating the grilled sausage.
So Donald turned his gaze to Lilo, she didn't need to sleep.
"Not heard."
Lilo's answer rang in Donald's mind.
"A special energy body is similar to a ghost or other existence that can affect other people's mental state."
Through mental communication, Donald asked Lilo again.
"No."
Another negative answer.
Donald doesn't think Lilo will lie to him. Is it really just a negative state that arises after his meditation is disturbed?
There was not much time to think about this question. After breakfast, the group asked the hotel waiter where the mermaid fountain was. As Jacqueline said, any locals living here knew where this special fountain was.
Arriving at the agreed place 15 minutes in advance, Donald held a black umbrella and looked at the fountain that could be called a work of art in front of him, speechless for a moment.
The entire fountain is white all over, with a diameter of about three meters under the cover of snowflakes. It is divided into three layers, one layer containing one layer, one layer stacked one layer. The outermost layer carved with fish of various postures, and the middle layer is still a fish, but the body has obviously become slender, and the upper body also depicts it as if it is undergoing some special change. The last layer is not special, not even a picture, it is just an ordinary water bottle, but this water bottle is held in the hand by a lifelike mermaid.
The water flow kept gushing out from the bottle mouth, filling the second pool and overflowing into the third pool, looking like three small waterfalls.
"This is the craft that should be available."
The surrounding factory buildings are really one in the sky and one underground compared to this mermaid fountain.
"This is one of the representative buildings in the city of Corta in the past, and there are not many similar buildings left now."
Jacquely walked up from the street intersection on the other side with an umbrella, changed into a casual outfit, and tied her hair casually with a ponytail behind her head, neatly.
"The city of Corta in the past...just heard that, did such a scene appear recently?"
Pointing at the surrounding chimneys and the crowds, Donald asked.
"Of course, these large factories are all buildings that have emerged in recent years. Because coal mines were found near Corta, the government took advantage of the situation to turn the city into an industrial city. I don't know how they convinced the sect that the craft and forging sects actually agreed to this transformation, and believed that this was also part of the forging, and even helped the government promote this matter. Many of the good places in the past have been demolished and rebuilt in order to make room for factories or warehouses."
Crafts and forging, if Corta once pursued the former, then Corta is now moving further and further on the road of the latter.
Donald did not have the right to care about the city's urban planning, so he could only express regret for this behavior at most.
As agreed, Jacqueline took them to one of the top magical forging craftsmen living in Corta among the Craft and Forging Cult.
"Uncle Grant is an elder who cares about me very much. I can introduce you to you, but whether you can convince him depends on yourself."
Arriving at the door of a workshop, Jacqueline turned around and said to Donald.
When he opened the door and went in, the workshop was unexpectedly quiet. Donald saw an iron furnace inside the house, which did not have the flames and bellows as imagined, nor did he rush into his face.
It's just a cold and dark place.
"You guys wait, I'll go in and call him."
Jacqueline was familiar with the passage here and went straight to the second floor. After a conversation, a strong man came down from the second floor.
With a beard, suspender work clothes and rolled up cuffs, Donald couldn't help but think of the statue he saw at the entrance of the train station. It was obvious that this was a loyal believer of the craft and forging sect.
"Everyone, I'm sorry, although you are guests brought by Jacqueline, I have not planned to create items recently. You have also seen that as a craftsman, my stove has been extinguished."
The man, known as Uncle Grant, pointed at his stove and workbench, and refused before he could even hear what Donald's job commission was.
"How could this happen? Uncle Grant, why did you extinguish your stove? Didn't you say that the first thing a craftsman does when he wakes up is to add coal or firewood to the stove..."
Before Donald could speak, Jacqueline was a little anxious and whispered.
"Because of some accidents, I can't forge it now... I'll tell you later that it's inconvenient now."
Grant doesn't seem to want to mention this.
“I don’t want you to create something, but I have an item that is important to me and need your help to improve it.”
Donald's space ring has completed most of it, only the last and most critical step away. He finally found a craftsman and had no reason to leave like this.
“I said, I recently…”
"What I want to perfect is a space ring!"
He said his stuff first, and the expression on Grant's face immediately frozen.
Chapter completed!
