Chapter 48

After dinner, everyone cleaned up and put on their pajamas, preparing to sleep together in a huge guest room.

Wayne was walking behind Chris, but Chris suddenly stopped, causing him to almost bump into her.

"Wayne——"

"Huh? What's wrong?"

Chrissy, with her blond hair hanging loose, holding a square pillow in her arms, turned around unhappily.

“Girls’ sleepy party, boys are not allowed to enter!~”

With that said, she closed the door with a bang and locked Wayne out.

"..."

In the bedroom, all the lights were turned off and it was dark.

On the floor, a total of five quilts formed a small circle, connected by a five-pointed star arranged with strips of cloth in the middle, and each corner was connected to a "hill".

Suddenly, one of the quilts opened with a "whoosh", revealing half of a strange face illuminated by green fluorescence.

Immediately, Chrissy's erratic voice sounded.

"A long, long time ago, an adventurer from afar came to a place called Ghost Town~"

"Eh-" The "hill" on Chris's left hand trembled.

"Because it was getting dark, he had no choice but to find a family in this small town to stay overnight."

"They welcomed the adventurer into their home very warmly and invited him to have dinner. The adventurer refused because he was not hungry."

"But!"

Chris raised her voice, creating a tense and unspeakable atmosphere: "When he wanted to fall asleep at night, he discovered that there seemed to be something wrong with this family."

The other "little hills" also unconsciously shrank a little rounder.

"For some reason, when he entered the room, there was always a "dong-dong-dong" knock on the door."

"He opened the door and went out in confusion. There was nothing outside. But as soon as he returned to the room, the strange sound would come again, making it impossible for him to sleep."

"The adventurer couldn't bear it anymore and asked tentatively: Is there anyone outside the door?"

"The movement outside suddenly disappeared for a moment, but soon it started again, and the sound was louder."

"So, the adventurer picked up his sword and gently pushed the door open a crack. He exposed one eye from the crack in the door and looked out——"

In the darkness, someone made a low "yeah" sound.

"He saw-" Chris smiled sinisterly.

"The other eye is staring at him through the crack in the door!"

"Ahhhhh..." President Sophia screamed in panic, lifted the quilt next to Meimei and got in.

"Ah! A ghost has crawled in!" the minister screamed.

Molly and Eve were also so frightened that they rolled over and ran away holding the quilt.

Under the strange green light, the room was in chaos.

"Pfft -" Chris couldn't help laughing, "Hahahaha! I lied to you."

She put the magic stone in her hand back into the quilt, "You are too timid, you are even afraid of such a story."

"Huh." Molly breathed a sigh of relief, puffed up her mouth and complained: "I didn't expect that Lady Chris would be such a... evil-minded person."

Although Molly has known this eldest lady since she first entered the elementary school, this is the first time she has seen such a vivid side.

Frankly speaking, I was a little frightened.

She has always believed that Ms. Chris is the kind of aristocratic model who is meticulous in life, has a very noble temperament, and is full of pride in her life.

Under such admiration, she would even unconsciously learn from Chris's words and deeds, hoping to be more similar to Chris.

But it turns out that Ms. Chris also likes to joke, is kind and friendly.

But, this feeling is not bad...

Very good! Just get closer to Lady Chris little by little. I will protect Lady Chris!

Molly thought like this, stood up with the quilt in hand, and wanted to get closer to Chris.

Just now, because I was so panicked, I felt like I was rolling in circles on the ground, and I couldn't figure out my position clearly.

"Dong dong dong——"

There was a strange sound from behind.

Molly's movements froze.

"Dong dong dong——"

Who is it? Who is knocking on the door?!

Nothing could be seen in front of me, and everyone who had been making various noises just now seemed to have lost their voices in an instant.

Molly became frightened.

The cold air crawled up my feet on the floor, and it felt like my legs were frozen in place.

Wayne was standing at the door in his pajamas, listening to the movement inside the door.

"Why was there so much noise just now, and now there's no sound at all?" He muttered to himself in confusion.

Just now, I was in the bedroom downstairs, doing my usual magic manipulation exercises before going to bed. Unexpectedly, there was a sudden "clang" sound like an earthquake upstairs, accompanied by ear-piercing screams.

He was so frightened that he almost blew up the house by mistake.

Worried, he originally wanted to come up and see what was going on, but after knocking on the door for a long time, there was no response.

Could it be that Chris pulled some tricks and got away with it?

If it were a normal cool novel, sometimes it would be like this. The protagonist unintentionally brought some artifact home, and accidentally activated it, causing destructive side effects.

Could it be that Chrissy also encountered this situation?

"Dong dong dong." He knocked on the door again. "Is there anyone there?"

Wayne frowned and was thinking about whether to force his way in and take a look, or go downstairs to wake up the other maids and let them deal with it.

The door in front of me suddenly opened a crack with a "creak" sound.

Surprised, Wayne moved his eyes closer, but they happened to meet the other eyes in the crack of the door.

"Ahhhhh--" The piercing scream made Wayne's eardrums buzz, "There's a ghost!"

Wayne pushed the door open, and there was a dull sound inside, as if something had been hit.

Reaching out to light the magic lamp in the room, he saw an unconscious girl who had fainted on the ground, and four tangled and shivering quilts.

"Chris?" he called uncertainly.

The quilt slowly opened a corner, and Chris revealed her eyes and said in a surprised tone: "Wayne?!"

Finally, under the soft light of the magic wall lamp, everyone solved the misunderstanding.

And classmate Molly also woke up and turned around under Chris' pinching, pinching and pressing operations.

After knowing why all this happened, Wayne simply didn't know what to say.

"So, you're telling ghost stories here to scare yourself, and then you think I'm a ghost knocking on the door?"

Damn it! Why don't you invite me to tell a ghost story to a beautiful girl?

"It's all because Wayne knocked on the door suddenly and asked questions like 'Is anyone there?', it's exactly the same as in the story..." Chris pursed her lips and skillfully passed the blame.

"...The story Ms. Chris told before was really terrible." Eve patted her chest and said with lingering fear.

"How about I join in? It just so happens that I just watched a very interesting ghost story two days ago."

Wayne sat on the floor.
