Chapter Two Two Sachets
Cheng Muyou covered Xun'er with a quilt. He turned to look at Jiang Xixi, who looked worried, and comforted softly, "Everything is fine, I'm just asleep."
Jiang Xixi sighed lightly and followed Cheng Muyou out of the inner room. She hesitated for a moment, but still poured out the words she held in her heart. "Sir, don't you really think that Yan Niang is suspicious? There is no such coincidence in the world. She happened to rent a house next to the government office and happened to meet Xun'er, and we just happened to see her rescue Xun'er. Also, she was a young woman, alone, and came to Kaixiu Village in Xin'an City. No one knew about her background, which was already a doubt in itself."
Cheng Muyou glanced at Jiang Xixi lightly, "Do you think she has something to do? An embroiderer with a minor guy?"
Jiang Xixi lowered his head, "That's not the case. I just think you should keep more thoughts and contact them less in the future."
Cheng Muyou's face eased, but the corners of his mouth were still tense. He whispered, "Since Xun'er is fine, then let's pay more attention to the recent epidemic. More than a dozen children have died, but the cause of the disease has not been clearly identified yet. When will the imperial doctors from the Imperial Hospital arrive?"
"According to the instructions, we can arrive in Xin'an City tomorrow, but we encountered the Yellow River water flowing on the way, so we delayed it."
Cheng Muyou frowned, "It seems I have to go and see it myself."
Jiang Xixi was shocked, "Sir, you don't care about yourself, you have to care about Xun'er. The disease is extremely spreading. What if it is infected with the child?"
"I can't care about so much now. Tomorrow you will ask the wet nurse to take Xun'er to the old house. When everything is calm, let him come back." After saying this, he quickly walked towards the front hall, and Qingjun's back was gradually swallowed up by the night.
His right ear was like a whirlwind, rolling rapidly under the eaves inside and outside the house, sweeping the spider silk tiles one by one, gathering them in the center of the courtyard. From a distance, he seemed to have grown a few more arms, and the moonlight shone his silver hair, making him look weird and interesting.
"It's over." His right ear swept the last pile of garbage out of the door, and then returned to the yard with a breath. He saw Yan Niang transforming a wine glass made of exquisite jade from somewhere, sitting in the middle of the yard, staring at the moon in a daze. Under the light blue moonlight, her figure looked cold and lonely.
"You are so comfortable." His right ear rushed towards her, and his long tail swept a thin stream of soil in front of her in protest.
Yan Niang raised her hand and waved it in front of her nose, giving the monkey a fierce look, "You will destroy it in your good mood."
"What are you excited about? There is not even a person to accompany you to drink." He said in his right ear, turning into a human form again and sat down at Yan Niang's feet.
Yan Niang was poured a bucket of cold water by him. She was about to scold her, but she heard a delicate sigh from the wing room in the backyard. She turned her head and glanced, raised her eyebrows slightly, and said quietly: "I wanted to spare your life, but why did I want to die?"
After saying that, she stood up and walked towards the wing room. She stopped a few feet away from the door, and quietly stared at the dilapidated wooden house shrouded under the shadow of the tree. After a while, the wooden door of the wing room suddenly made a "creak" sound, and it slowly opened itself.
A pair of dead branches-like hands crawled upwards little by little. A few of the nails of these hands had fallen off and disappeared. On the remaining nails, mottled Danko could be seen vaguely. Behind the hand were two pale arms, but the flesh on the arm seemed to have been cut off by something, revealing the lush white bones inside.
Yan Niang sighed, "It's no wonder you're so persistent in dying so miserable, but things in this world will never be perfect. You and I, all living beings, cannot defeat the impermanence of encounters. Why not just let go, even if you are a lonely ghost wandering around the world, it will be a good thing."
But after her persuasion, the female ghost had no intention of retreating. She took two more steps forward and exposed her whole body to the moonlight. She was naked, without a piece of intact skin from head to toe, with two bowls of holes. The blood-stained face, although it could vaguely identify her beautiful appearance during her lifetime, was left with only a row of dry teeth, which made people feel even more sad in comparison.
"Lingchi." These two words popped up in Yan Niang's mind, but this idea was quickly denied by her. No, it was not Lingchi. This torture has been deposed for many years, so the injuries on her body could never be done by the public. So, who would have committed such an evil deed to her that was against her?
As if she had seen through what she thought, the female ghost suddenly threw something in front of the door. Yan Niang bent down and picked up the thing, and found that it was actually a token. She stroked the words engraved on it with her hand, and a sneer gradually spread on her face.
"Leave your grudge to me." Yan Niang raised her eyelids, and a handkerchief flew towards the direction of the female ghost, wrapping her up. In just a while, the female ghost disappeared. There was a bulging sachet when she was standing just now.
Yan Niang went up to pick up the sachet, held it in her hand and walked towards the stone pier you were sitting on. Her right ear was spread beside the stone pier, and she was playing with the wine glass. When she saw Yan Niang coming with the sachet, she leaned over and asked, "Why are you suddenly in charge of other people's business?"
Yan Niang snatched the cup from him and muttered, "I don't have any leisure time, I don't have the salty food you cook."
She was so angry that he jumped up from the stone pier. He was about to argue a few times, but two sachets were suddenly stuffed into his arms. Yan Niang looked at him expressionlessly, "If you put it away, I will use you to make a monkey head pot." After she said that, she walked into the room on her own, ignoring the complaints of her right ear screaming behind her.
"Dad, dad." A few tender shouts came from the room. Hearing this sound, Jiang Xixi quickly pushed open the door and walked in. She threw herself to Xun'er, who was still rubbing her eyes, and held him in her arms. "Xun'er, are you awake? Are you hungry? Sister brings you food for you."
"Sister Xi," Xun'er looked at Jiang Xixi with her big and lively eyes, "Where is the kite? Where has the kite gone?"
"Kite? What kite?"
"The black one is so big, as beautiful as an eagle. Xun'er chases it, but she never catches it."
Jiang Xixi grabbed his shoulder, "Xun'er, did you throw it away with the kite?"
