Chapter 13 Opening the Coffin

The black mourning dress was covered with white chrysanthemums, like hands that were swaying in their teeth and claws, and she held a breath, "Are you... Mrs. Dong?"

The old woman moved her shriveled lips, and her mouth suddenly turned into a black hole as big as a fist. She tried her best and shouted two words at Jiang Xixi at the top of her lungs: "Save...I..."

Jiang Xixi was stunned. He wondered what her brainless words meant, so he asked her, "How did you die? Who killed you?"

The old woman in black looked silent, and a strong hatred was painted in her empty eyes. She slowly turned her head and her eyes drifted to the middle room in the inner courtyard, the room where Dong Zongyuan lived.

"Are you really murdered by your biological son?" Jiang Xixi's heart seemed to be blocked by a large bunch of cotton, and she was extremely bored.

The old woman didn't say anything, but suddenly two blood and tears fell in her eyes. The red blood turned black under the moonlight, shrill and creepy.

Jiang Xixi was shocked, his body shook violently, but his feet unconsciously walked towards Mrs. Dong, clenching his hands into fists, and approaching the figure standing under the moonlight step by step, saying word by word, "Tell me the truth, maybe I can help you."

The old woman's lips slightly closed, her eyes focused on Jiang Xixi's face, staring at Jiang Xixi's cold hair standing up.

But when she was about to tell the truth that was pressing on her heart and defeating her, her body suddenly became straight and was penetrated by a red thread from the back of her heart to her sternum. Then, she curled up in a ball, like a piece of autumn leaves withered in the wind, and was dragged into the endless darkness behind her.

Jiang Xixi was shocked when she saw the old woman being pulled away by red silk. She didn't have time to react and followed her with her foot, but only a dark night was waiting for her, so dark, just like the secret hidden in the Dong family, unable to see the light, and dare not see the light...

After a long time, she sighed heavily from the bottom of her heart: Don't worry, I will help you.

The paper money on Mars was flying like fiery red butterflies flying in the air. When the Dong family saw the paper money ignited, they all hid in front of Mrs. Dong's grave and cried loudly, with extremely sadness.

Suddenly, Mars was extinguished as if they had been agreed, and paper money emitting black smoke slowly fell from the air and turned into ashes on the grave.

The crying stopped abruptly, and the servants looked at each other for a while, and all looked at Dong Zongyuan in the front: he raised his body slightly, stared at the tombstone made of white marble, and his body was shaking uncontrollably.

"Official." Mrs. Dong grabbed his hand, looked straight into his eyes firmly, and nodded slightly at Dong Zongyuan.

Her calm attitude made Dong Zongyuan calm down. For a moment, he even suspected that she had known what she had done. Otherwise, how could she look at him with understanding with such a compassionate look that could see everything.

He blinked at her hard, and then ordered the servants behind him, "Maybe the wind and sand are strong that the fire is blown out. You burn some paper money, don't miss the time and delay the old lady's journey."

The servants responded, and hurriedly took a few more strings of paper money to the grave, blew the fire and leaned down.

But the fire broke into the paper money a few times, but there was no spark in the air. The pile of paper money was as if it was dead, quietly spread all over the floor without moving.

"Young Master..." The servant who ignited the fire was a little scared, and turned around tremblingly, looked at Dong Zongyuan, waiting for his instructions.

Dong Zongyuan's forehead was covered with fine beads of sweat. He held Mrs. Dong's hand tightly and held the weak and boneless little hand tightly in the palm of his hand, as if it was his only support.

"Official, the weather is different today. Why don't we go back first and come to worship our mother another day?" Mrs. Dong held his slightly trembling shoulder with her other hand and helped him up from the ground.

Her voice was soft and gentle, but Dong Zongyuan seemed to have grabbed a life-saving straw and nodded desperately at her with all his last strength. The two supported each other, walked through the crowd behind him, and walked out of the cemetery.

But before they could go far, the two were blocked by a few figures. Dong Zongyuan looked up and looked at the man in a dark official uniform standing in front. His eyes were a little panic, "Cheng...Mr. Cheng, why are you here?"

Cheng Muyou noticed the change in his expression, so he took a step forward, his eyes crossed Dong Zongyuan's forehead and fell to the grand new tomb behind. "Xin'an Mansion received a report from others that Mrs. Dong's death was suspected, so I came to Yushan Village to find out the matter."

Upon hearing this, Dong Zongyuan's face turned pale, "But... but my mother has been buried. Can you open a coffin and perform an autopsy?"

Cheng Muyou still didn't look at him, but his voice became a little deeper, "If Mrs. Dong was really harmed by a traitor, I'm afraid she wouldn't be safe even if she lay in a coffin made of gold. Mr. Dong is a filial son, so she shouldn't be willing to let her mother die with her eyes closed, right?"

After saying that, he pushed Dong Zongyuan away with a pale face and walked towards the newly established tomb. After standing still, he squinted his eyes and stared at the sophisticated stone tablet for a while. Then he waved his arm and shouted at the yamen runner behind him, "Put up the coffin."

After digging for half a morning, the huge golden nanmu coffin finally saw the light of day again in the amazement of the onlookers.

Cheng Muyou nodded gently at Jiang Xixi, and she walked over with understanding and ordered the yamen runners to pry open the lid of the coffin.

But as soon as he used the shovel, Mrs. Dong came over and crawled at Cheng Muyou's feet, grabbed his trouser legs with both hands, and cried, "Mr. Cheng, everyone has been buried. You dig it out again. This is not only a great disrespect to your mother, but also a broken Feng Shui of the Dong family. You may bear this loss? You are a good county magistrate in Xin'an City, but you can't bully people at will."

Cheng Muyou glanced at the woman in filial piety clothes and replied lightly, "If Mrs. Dong really died of illness, then I am willing to take all the responsibilities alone and will never refuse. So, is Mrs. Dong still satisfied?"

His words were very light, but very heavy. Mrs. Dong raised her little face covered with tears and let go of her hand little by little. "My lord has heard this, and if the villagers here stop it, it would be unreasonable. I hope that the adults will remember this sentence and do not break their promise in the future."

Cheng Muyou stopped looking at her, turned his gaze to the huge coffin, and quietly said to the yamen runners, "Open the coffin and examine the autopsies."
