Chapter 19 Guangtai Temple

The man faced the window sideways. Jiang Xixi couldn't see his face clearly, so she lay forward again. However, in the middle of the night, the soil on the wall was frozen. In addition, she had shrunk for a while and her body had been stiff. So when her hands slipped, she accidentally fell into the yard and made a dull "bump" sound.

She didn't care about the pain and quickly got up from the ground. But when she looked into the window, she found that the man was gone. In the room, only Mrs. Dong sat alone in front of the mirror, as quiet as a lotus isolated from the world.

Jiang Xixi was shocked and was about to go into the house to ask her for a clear understanding, but at this moment, he suddenly saw a black shadow running out of the room and running outside against the wall. Not long after, his body disappeared into the endless darkness outside the door.

Without having time to think too much, Jiang Xixi walked out of the yard, followed closely behind the black shadow, and ran with him into the dense forest behind Dong's house.

The black shadow stood still less than a few steps away from her, with his back facing her, and there were only two bare trunks between her.

Jiang Xixi turned her face and looked at the familiar figure. She felt a little hand digging in her heart, trying to dig out the truth that was about to break out of the ground. However, although there was only a thin layer of soil between her and it, she could not see her true appearance for a long time. She asked her to scratch her heart, and her heart was mixed with itch and she was in a panic.

Unexpectedly, the person in front seemed to have guessed Jiang Xixi's thoughts. He turned slowly towards her and stood with her without any hesitation. What surprised her even more was that he raised the corner of his mouth and smiled at himself with a very strange smile.

The smile was like a frost knife, penetrated straight into Jiang Xixi's heart, spreading little by little, freezing her body into an ice cave.

She was shocked, and the next moment, she touched her hands behind her, trying to pull out the long sword she was carrying behind her.

But in the end, she was still one step slower. Before her five fingers touched the hilt, she suddenly felt cold behind her back, so deep that she penetrated from the back waist to the front abdomen, making her internal organs boil.

The moment when the consciousness wandered out of my mind, Jiang Xixi saw two figures from his eyelids that had not yet closed. They stood side by side, hazy and distant.

When Jiang Xixi woke up again, she found it was still dark. She sucked a few sips of humid and hot air in horror and reached out to her waist.

But my fingers rubbed them repeatedly, but I could only touch a piece of cold clothing, without any wounds or blood, as if the knife not long ago was just her hallucination.

But it wasn't right. She clearly remembered the heart-wrenching pain, which penetrated into the texture. At first, it was as cold as ice, but later, it was like a pot of boiling hot oil, burning all her consciousness.

It is clearly real and bone-like, but now, it disappears suddenly, and no trace is left behind.

A sudden uneasy surged in Jiang Xixi's heart. When he smelled the wet and stuffy air around him, the uneasiness became stronger and stronger, crawling into every corner of her heart little by little, pushing her heart like a hard stone, unable to jump, but it made her chest hurt.

She supported the ground with her hands and staggered up. When she looked around, she found that there was nothing around, only a few yellow-green fluorescence floating in the air, up and down, wandering.

"Liuying, isn't it winter now? Why are there any fireflies?"

Jiang Xixi was full of doubts, but her palms were unconsciously spreading forward, trying to catch the living thing with her only companion beside her, but when she grabbed it, she threw herself into the air and almost fell to the ground. Because although the fireflies were so close that they were caught by her, they instantly drifted a few feet away and stayed there without moving, as if they were seducing her over.

Jiang Xixi is now in such a strange environment, and she is inevitably swaying. Her legs seem to be no longer her own. She just takes her towards the faint fluorescent lights, walks into them, and continues to walk towards the unknown wasteland ahead.

She seemed to be tired and walked blindly on this strange wasteland. She didn't know how long she had been walking or where she was going. She suddenly came to her senses until she saw a grand temple in front of her. She shivered and her legs stopped moving forward. She only looked at the hall that seemed to float in the clouds, her lips slightly opened and her eyes became straight.

There was a stone tablet in front of the temple. Although it was surrounded by mist, Jiang Xixi still saw the three blood-red big characters on the stone tablet: Guangtai Temple.

"Guangtai Temple."

She read it in her heart, and for some reason, she always felt that she had heard these three words somewhere, but she couldn't remember them for a while.

While scrambling, she suddenly heard a cry from the temple. The sound was not loud, but it was shrill and lustful, making her unable to tell whether the person was crying or screaming. However, there was only one thing that was certain. The people in the temple must be suffering greatly now, like destroying the heart and liver, causing great pain.

Jiang Xixi was afraid. She had been a yamen runner for so long and thought she had seen many bloody scenes and strange stories. But today, she suddenly became really scared. Perhaps what she was afraid of was not the miserable screams in the temple, but the temple itself. Because when the fireflies arrived here, they no longer flew forward, but floated at the top of the temple, as if they had finally found their home.

Home...

Is this their destination? Or their own destination?

Suddenly, such a strange idea broke into his mind. Jiang Xixi shivered heavily. For the first time in his life, he actually wanted to escape.

But as soon as she turned around, she was stunned: There was no wasteland behind her, the vast and boundless darkness that could not be seen at the end, like an abyss, like a vast ocean, as if she would fall into it as soon as she landed.

The cold sweat behind her climbed up and down again and again, and the cycle continued, soaking her body cold.

She wilted for a while, and finally turned around again to face the huge red walls and gray tiles temple, clenched her fingers tightly, and made up her mind and walked towards it regardless of the matter.

The candlelight flashed in the temple, illuminating the square space in front of the altar, but the rest of the place was dark, just like the chaotic and dark outside, as if you could accidentally suck someone in.

Jiang Xixixun looked at the sound and saw a few blurry shadows behind a vermilion cylinder. Her heart tightened and she moved her heavy steps towards the cylinder.

When she walked to the front of the pillar, the shrill shouting came into her ears without any cover, becoming clearer. Jiang Xixi suddenly felt that all the strength in her body was drained away. She held the pillar, listened to her increasingly rapid breathing, slowly tiptoed and poked over.
