Chapter 6 The Surprise of the Inn

On the morning of the next day, just as the sky was getting dark, Li Yuntong had already gotten up early. She and her maid Caidie had already started to pack their luggage. After finishing the clothes and silver items they needed to bring to the capital, Li Yuntong took her maid Caidie and took her carriage to the Li family's cloth shop.

"Uncle Chen, are the goods ready?" Li Yuntong asked Chen Shuangliang seriously.

"Miss, you are all ready, please check it out." Chen Shuangliang said respectfully, while leading Li Yuntong to the front of the goods.

Li Yuntong carefully looked through a few pieces of cloth and confirmed that they were all the best fabrics, with a solid and smooth texture and bright and beautiful colors. It was impossible to make a mistake. Li Yuntong said to Chen Shuangliang with confidence in a slightly commanding tone: "Uncle Chen, the fabric is fine. Put these fabrics into the box first and put them in the carriage, and then we will set off to Beijing."

"Yes, Miss." Chen Shuangliang responded obediently, and then Chen Shuangliang skillfully arranged the shop's friends to put the fabric into the prepared boxes and then put the boxes into the carriage.

"Miss, everything is ready, we can set off now." Chen Shuangliang said to Li Yuntong with a smile.

"Okay, let's go." After Li Yuntong said that, she sat in the carriage with her maid Caidie. The box containing fabric was right in front of Li Yuntong.

Li Yuntong looked at the box and thought carefully: "I saw this fabric in this box with my own eyes, so I must be wrong." Then she stretched out her slightly frowning brows. She felt relieved about this batch of fabrics at this time.

Chen Shuangliang then sat in the carriage, and he ordered the coachman: "Let's go." So the coachman whipped the horse and drove the horse to gallop, and the carriage began to move forward.

At about noon when the sun was shining, the carriage drove into a quiet and remote place full of rocks and woods. At this time, Chen Shuangliang ordered the carriage to stop and rest.

"Everyone eat some dry food first and keep your stomach." Chen Shuangliang shouted to everyone.

"Miss, you can eat some dry food too." Chen Shuangliang said with a smile to Li Yuntong.

"Okay, Uncle Chen." Li Yuntong responded with a smile.

The maid Caidie handed Li Yuntong the dry food prepared for Li Yuntong and said with a smile: "Miss, please eat dry food." Li Yuntong smiled and took the dry food and began to chew the food. Everyone also started to eat dry food. They ate dry food while drinking water while talking and laughing.

Soon, after almost all of them had enough food and drink, Chen Shuangliang ordered the carriage to continue moving forward. So, a team of people started their unfinished itinerary again.

When the sun was about to set, they passed an inn and Chen Shuangliang ordered the carriage to stop.

"Miss, it's getting dark. Let's check in to this inn today for dinner and rest. Let's go tomorrow morning." Chen Shuangliang suggested to Li Yuntong.

"Okay, Uncle Chen, just do what you said." Li Yuntong agreed.

So, the team went to the inn to have a meal and stay.

"Please put the box in my room." Li Yuntong said to Chen Shuangliang without any objection.

"Okay, Miss." Chen Shuangliang responded in an obedient tone. Then Chen Shuangliang arranged for someone to carry the box of fabric into the room where Li Yuntong lived.

"Only I can feel relieved when I see this box with my own eyes." Li Yuntong thought silently in her heart.

Soon, Li Yuntong's food was sent in by a waiter in the inn. Li Yuntong and her maid Caidie started eating this delicious meal.

"Miss, please eat more. The dry food at noon is not as delicious as the food in this restaurant." Caidie said with a smile.

"The taste is really good." Li Yuntong said thoughtfully, she vaguely felt a little worried about the goods.

After dinner, Caidie served Li Yuntong tossed and turned. But Li Yuntong was lying on the bed and tossed and turned, but she didn't fall asleep for a long time. Instead, she was worried about the batch of goods in the box placed in her room not far from her.

When it was a very late and quiet moment at night, Li Yuntong suddenly heard the sound of someone walking gently from the roof. Li Yuntong was frightened and thought: "Who is doing something on the roof at this dark moment." But the slight sound became more and more obvious and clear. Li Yuntong held her breath, opened her eyes, looked at the roof above without any slackening, and listened carefully. Suddenly, a tiles on the roof of Li Yuntong's accommodation room were slowly quietly unveiled, and a

The hazy moonlight poured down through the unveiled hole and spread in Li Yuntong's room. Li Yuntong gradually calmed down. She deliberately coughed gently, and the removed tiles on the roof were immediately carefully put back to their original place. The soft moonlight shot down from the roof disappeared, and the sound of walking on the roof became smaller and smaller until it disappeared. The late night quickly returned to its original quietness, and Li Yuntong breathed a sigh of relief in her heart. Later, Li Yuntong fell asleep unknowingly.

The next morning, after getting up, Li Yuntong recalled the slight noise of the roof last night, and still felt lingering fear. Li Yuntong immediately opened the box containing the best fabric beside her, checked it carefully, and after confirming that the fabric was intact, she sighed softly in her heart: "It's better if the fabric is still there." She calmed down again.

"Miss, after breakfast, let's continue on the road." Uncle Chen reminded after coming to Li Yuntong's room.

"Okay, Uncle Chen." Li Yuntong replied lightly, not revealing the nervous sneaky sound of last night.

After breakfast, the box containing high-quality fabric was loaded into the carriage under Chen Shuangliang's arrangement. After Li Yuntong and others got into the carriage, they began to move towards the capital again.
