Chapter 166: The sound of the east and the west

"But." Several security guards wanted to argue, but Annick took out his pistol and pressed the hammer.

"If you come any closer, I'll shoot."

The theater became increasingly chaotic until a desperate male voice shouted out.

"Someone come and save me, I don't want to die."

Annick clearly heard the cry for help, but couldn't tell whether it was a sign of evasion, so he had to use his body to block Representative Frey while looking carefully at the bottom of the stage.

"Mr. Frey, are you okay?" A concerned male voice came from the audience.

A short man carrying a briefcase was struggling to climb onto the stage.

"Do you know this person? Congressman Frey."

"My chief private secretary handles most of my government affairs."

That was believable. Annick stepped forward and helped him.

"Thank you, Mr. Inspector, this is such a high stage. By the way, I am the chief secretary of the congressman. My name is Marvin."

This Mr. Marvin is really young and seems to be in a bad mental state. His hands are trembling.

"Hello, Mr. Marvin, just stand with the congressman. I don't have much energy to take care of you at the moment. Are you scared? I see you are shaking badly."

"I thought it was a bomb attack. After all, there were only a few explosions at the beginning of this month. Although I was scared, I still squeezed through with all my strength. It's good that the MP is fine."

Mr. Marvin didn't look like he was lying, and Councilor Frey also praised him a few times when he heard this.

The chaos did not last long. After most of the citizens escaped from the theater, as the door was opened and the police present opened the curtains of the windows on the second floor, light returned to the theater.

"I think they just wanted to ruin the rally and embarrass me."

Councilor Frey said after regaining his composure.

"Maybe, I don't know why the murderer gave up the plan." Annick replied while looking inside the theater.

"Annick, we have been fooled this time, and the murderer has succeeded." Captain Parker jumped on the stage, with a look of displeasure after being fooled, and his eyebrows were knitted together.

"You succeeded? The congressman is still here fine." Annick asked in confusion.

"Then, I guess the murderers have accomplished what they really wanted to kill." Captain Parker pointed to the aisle of the VIP seats, where a man was lying on the ground, with blood constantly flowing from his body.

"Is this? Mr. Mick is dead?" Marvin called out from behind.

Huh? Annick felt something was wrong and didn't think much about it.

"Captain, come and help me protect the congressman. I'll go take a look at the body."

After handing over the escort duty, Annick jumped off the stage and shouted at the police and security personnel on site.

"There are doctors or military doctors on site. In short, people with medical experience can come and help."

A man wearing a Dunpin uniform came over. He looked to be in his thirties and had obvious crow's feet at the corners of his eyes.

"Mr. Inspector, let me help. I worked as a military doctor for several years before retiring."

"Okay, let's take a look together." After speaking, Annick turned the body over.

Mick's face was pale, his lips were black, and there was a lot of white saliva at the corners of his mouth. It was completely different from the high-spirited look he had on the stage ten minutes ago.

There is a fruit knife stuck in the abdomen, which is very common. It is located below the lungs and above the navel, which is probably the position of the small intestine.

Mick's clothes were very neat, except for his tie, which was turned out of his coat. It was a black tie, and it felt of good quality.

The military doctor looked at Mick's eyes, then opened his mouth and inspected it carefully. Finally, he pulled out the fruit knife on his abdomen. The wound looked only about an inch deep but not large.

"Mr. Inspector, I am very sure that Mr. Mick died of poisoning. If nothing else, the prisoner took advantage of the chaos and stabbed Mr. Mick in the abdomen with a poisoned fruit knife."

"Why not stab him to death?"

"There is only one wound on the abdomen. It is not a fatal injury, and it is impossible to bleed to death in such a short period of time." The military doctor gave a definite answer.

"Then do you know what the poison is?"

"It only takes a few minutes from poisoning to death. It is definitely not one of the common mineral toxins. I think it is a toxin extracted from a poisonous frog in the rainforest of the southern continent."

Poison frog? Southern Continent? Forget it, these are not important. Annick cleared his mind and asked.

"Does this toxin need to come into contact with the blood to penetrate?"

"If it's fatal, there will definitely be blood, but direct contact will also burn the skin."

Hearing this, Annick fell into thinking. Only VIPs who received invitations could bring knives in. Because they were not searched, weapons were easy to bring in. How could they identify the target in a near-dark environment?

Then they searched around the victim, and sure enough, they found a wooden scabbard not far away. It seemed that on the one hand, the murderer prevented himself from touching the venom, and on the other hand, the presence of the scabbard made it difficult for the venom to evaporate.

"Sir Frey, please come over here. There are a few things I want to confirm with you."

Captain Parker escorted Frei over.

"Is this really Mick?" Frey looked surprised.

"You are more familiar with it than us, right? I would like to ask Mr. Frey, do you remember whether Mr. Mick has anything special in his tie today?"

"Special item?" Frey thought for a moment, "By the way, he has a tie clip with pearls on his tie."

Pearl tie clip? Pearl?

Annick thought about it and came up with a guess.

"Then does this young master of the Tui family have any political enemies?"

"Political opponents? No, the Tui family is very good at being a good person. There are people from both parties."

"Then, I think Mr. Frey made an exchange with the Tui family? They helped you enter the House of Commons, and your regional seat was given to this young master."

Frey's face turned ugly, and then he said: "Although I don't want to admit it, your statement is correct in some respects."

"Well, Mr. Marvin on the stage, I think you agreed to train him as your successor in the beginning, in exchange for his dedicated service to you." Annick pointed at Mr. Marvin on the stage, and then pretended to wave.

He waved his hand.

"Have you also found out about this? It's more of an exploitation. I think Marvin has also guessed our utilization relationship. But when I climb up to a minister's seat, it should be no problem to recommend Marvin for the position of parliamentary secretary.

"

"Hey." Annick sighed. "Captain, we have an unpleasant ending."

"Do you have the answer?" Captain Parker heard this and knew that Annick had probably identified the suspect.

"Part of it. There is still no clue about the bombing and Smith's murder. It is probably difficult to find out. But Mick's murder means we can catch the murderer, and there is no need for the Special Operations Department to use their magical lie detector."
