Chapter 10 The King

The meeting originally lasted for three days. However, for well-known reasons, the process of the meeting the next day was suspended.

Li Zhen had known that such a result would be, so when he received the news, he was still lying on the bed and talking to Zhang Kesong on the phone. Then he received another notice - the nominal supreme ruler of the empire, Zhu Zhaoxu, the Emperor Zhenyuan, wanted to summon him.

He was not surprised by this, and knew that the emperor might have to say something to him.

The emperor still lived in the palace, separated from the South China Sea by a wall. This reminded him of the scene when he first met the emperor - the emperor was the crown prince at that time. He had no impression of that young man because he was originally from two worlds. He only remembered that the prince inherited the blood of the Zhu family and had a slightly longer face than ordinary people, but he could also be called a handsome man.

So he spent half an hour taking care of his appearance and changing into formal clothes - he had not worn formal clothes for many years since the junior high school graduation ceremony. Fortunately, Yanjing is the imperial capital, and industry and commerce have always recovered faster than other places. His guards spent three hours to find a dress shop.

The dress that was not customized was unexpectedly fit. The material was the best material, with moon-white dark brocade pine cloud patterns, and the cutting was also appropriate. Li Zhen looked at himself in the mirror and suddenly felt that he had traveled back many years ago - at that time he was discussing with several classmates how to cut the knife for matching dresses and bring it to the graduation ceremony.

It was very comfortable to wear a slightly loose and soft dress, and Li Zhen was even in the mood to hum a song.

Later, the royal car that picked him up arrived, but it was really just here to pick him up - there was no police car leading the way or guarding vehicles. It was just a lonely car.

This means that the emperor does not want to make this matter popular, which shows that what he wants to say is not good news.

It took him an hour to walk from the hotel where he stayed to the palace, but Li Zhen didn't take him alone.

After getting off the car, he was then led to the gate of "Qinzhai" in the north corner of Taiqing Palace Garden - this place used to be the emperor's imperial study, and now it is also.

He was watching the scenery along the way. You should know that even in the palace today, not everyone can enter. Unfortunately, the scenery at present disappointed him, and many places were under construction. He even saw several bullet holes on a red pillar, which shows how terrible things happened here a few months ago.

There was a curtain between him and the imperial study room in front of him. The waiter who led him should go in and inform him first. But when the waiter was about to lift the curtain open, the person inside first picked the curtain open.

Li Zhen looked at the man and found that it was a familiar face.

Zhu Zhaoxu walked out by himself.

The young emperor smiled at Li Zhen and nodded to the waiter on the side: "It's enough to have two of us here."

The waiter bowed respectfully, took two steps back, and then turned around and walked away.

Zhu Zhaoxu looked at the waiter's back and smiled and said softly: "I feel good now when I am a prince - you know that many rules are still the same."

Just like a billionaire saying that he envys a leisurely fisherman even more - Li Zhen knew that such words could not be true. Otherwise, why bother to make a fuss until bullets were shot into the palace? But now he is not an "imperial man", but a "Luzon man". In a sense, he himself represents the new country in the south. So he smiled like an emperor and said gently: "Yes."

Zhu Zhaoxu walked to him and stretched out his hand: "Let's go. It's been several years since we last met."

Li Zhen followed the emperor in a good manner and walked side by side into a corridor west of the study.

The emperor wore a white dress today, in a retro style, which looked comfortable and appropriate. The slightly cool gentle wind came through the corridor, making him feel a little fairy-like.

After taking a few steps, Li Zhen responded to his words just now: "Actually, if you think about it, we were still very happy at that time."

Zhu Zhaoxu looked at Li Zhen with a side face and said, "I have talked with General Dai."

He paused and said, "I also know what happened in the venue."

Li Zhen did not expect that this young emperor would get into the topic so soon. But after a little accident, he developed a slight favor to this person - this kind of straightforwardness is always better than hypocritical politeness, especially for his identity.

So he said, "You don't look panicked."

Zhu Zhaoxu smiled: "Because sixteen hours have passed. To be honest, I haven't slept since 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon. I think I'm not alone in this state - few of the forty-seven people who attended the meeting yesterday could sleep. You dropped a bomb."

"But I'm talking about the truth." Li Zhen sighed slightly, "It's a pity that people's feelings for the truth are very complicated."

Zhu Zhaoxu took two steps silently and asked again: "We - I mean the entire human world, really don't have the power to fight?"

Li Zhen smiled and shook her head: "No."

There was no expression on Zhu Zhaoxu's face. After hearing Li Zhen's words, he nodded and said in the rhythm of taking four steps to say one sentence: "Then I believe you. However, it is difficult for others to believe you so much. It is impossible to convince everyone by the strangeness yesterday, there will still be someone..."

He paused: "Or I asked this. If anyone else does not agree with your judgment on this crisis and launches a large-scale attack on that ancient god, what will the result?"

"There will be no result." Li Zhen said, "Unless you lose hundreds of Liefeng nuclear bombs at once. However, even that is the case, it will be just a self-destruction."

He thought for a while, looked at the young emperor beside him, and whispered: "But I don't want to go that step either. Because then, it will have to deter us again - but this time it will not just make a ring of fire on some people's heads."

The emperor stopped and frowned slightly at Li Zhen for the first time: "...so?"

Li Zhen met his gaze and said in a calm tone: "Maybe it will destroy one or two small countries. It is not that kind of remote and backward small country, but that kind of country with certain influence. In a moment, there will be no armor left."

Zhu Zhaoxu's expression slightly stopped. But he immediately stretched his eyebrows and took another step, saying as if he was talking to himself: "If this is true... this situation is not impossible."

"It's almost inevitable," said Li Zhen. "I told General Dai that arrogance is a terrible thing, but unfortunately arrogance is also human nature. At some point this nature means enterprising spirit, honor, dignity - it's a good thing. But at other times... that will be the way to death."

Zhu Zhaoxu shook his head with emotion and nodded again: "Yes. So you and I can't stop this from happening."

"That's right." Li Zhen nodded with him and continued to say in the calm and almost cold tone just now, "But this is also a good thing. Humans will see the reality faster and more clearly, and will not waste too much time."

The young emperor stopped for the second time. He looked at Li Zhen in the wind for a while, and suddenly smiled on his lips: "It looks like you seem to be more suitable for this seat than me."

Li Zhen was stunned. This joke was a bit too much - for a monarch. But he immediately realized that an emperor, even a young emperor, would not make such a joke for no reason.

This sentence has some other meaning.

Li Zhen looked at Zhu Zhaoxu's eyes and a vague thought arose in his heart.

Since hundreds of years ago, the emperor has been the nominal supreme ruler of the empire, and they have no real power. However, what he remembered was what he said to himself in Murmansk King Meng—

This is a chaotic world. A chaotic world that is great and great.

Some things seem backward and savage at a certain stage. But if you change the situation, it will be difficult to say whether it is good or bad...especially now.

So he took a breath and said, "Your Majesty should not be born in the royal family. You should also be an excellent politician."

The emperor asked with interest: "Do you think so?"

"Yes." Li Zhen smiled again, "It's just because of humans."

The emperor shook his head without comment and took a few steps forward. Change the topic. This time his voice became a little low and sounded a little misty: "This morning the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has received twelve notes."

Li Zhen smiled as expected: "If you guessed correctly, you should ask me to be expelled."

"Yes. Some people even asked the International Court of Justice to judge you - crimes against humanity." The emperor shook his head as he walked, "I guess someone will leak some of the contents of this meeting in a dozen days. At that time, what you have to face may be the pressure of the whole world."

Li Zhen didn't say anything. The emperor paused and continued: "In this matter, the imperial position - at least the current position... I think you can understand."

"I can understand. There is no need to make things difficult for you. I have been prepared for a long time." Li Zhen said.

The emperor smiled gently: "Thank you. Actually, we can drag it out - if you want to stay for a while."

Li Zhen smiled: "I have nothing—"

But the emperor interrupted him: "For example, Pingyang. One of your friends still lives there-his name is Qi Yuanshan."

Li Zhen's smile froze on his face. At this moment, Zhu Zhaoxu had some illusion - meaning that a dangerous light burst out from Li Zhen's eyes, but it flashed by.

However, the two of them still looked at each other for a short time. After a second, they all dissimilarly glanced at each other.

"I heard that you had a good relationship in the past." Zhu Zhaoxu said slowly, "Actually you can take them out of Pingyang. As far as I know, Qi Yuanshan is not doing well now. When you come to Luzon, you can take care of him. After all... the ancient god will not attack Luzon - you are there."

Li Zhen was silent for a while, and said at a very slow speed: "No need. Everyone has their own lifestyle. Maybe the environment there is not suitable for him. But I still want to thank you - I do want to see him too."

The young emperor nodded: "Okay."

Then Li Zhen said: "Then--"

The emperor smiled: "I won't leave you for lunch."

Li Zhen leaned silently and turned away. After walking more than ten steps, a waiter came over to guide him. When he followed the waiter through the Taiqing Palace Garden, he couldn't help but look back and glance at the emperor.

The latter turned his back to him at this moment, as if he was watching the scenery.
