Chapter 55: Victoria and the Annoyance

Night falls again. The masked man jumps between buildings.

The wind passed by his ears, under his ribs, and between his fingers, which made him feel like a free flying eagle soaring in the sky. The whole city was dormant in the shadows, like an extremely huge monster, and he was the only freedom factor on the back of the monster, sweeping his eyes across every corner of the city.

Finally he stopped at the edge of a seven-story building. The night wind blew the corners of his clothes, but the people on the street below could not see it. A man was caught and he was whispering to explain something.

The wind brought the sound into his ears, and at the same time he saw the man take out two injections from his pocket and handed them to the law enforcement officer who surrounded him. The law enforcement officer looked at the handwriting on it with the light of the flashlight, and the masked man also saw it clearly. They were two pain-relieving injections... They could also be said to be drugs.

The law enforcement officer put him in his bag and raised his hand to slap the man in the face. The voice was crisp and loud. The man stumbled and stood up straight again. So he had a second slap, followed by the third and fourth. Until his cheeks were swollen and the corners of his mouth were bleeding, the four law enforcement officers kicked him down and left.

But this seemed to make the beaten man happy - because he was not sent to prison. He got up from the ground and did not go home. He spat in a dark red spit and bowed and ran towards somewhere along the shadows on both sides of the street.

The whole process was seen by the masked man, but he was just watching it.

This is a transaction that each person needs, and there are no so-called victims. Or they are all "criminals".

So he jumped between the buildings again, like an eagle patrolling his territory.

This is a city with a population of nearly one million, and strange things happen every moment - even on a curfew night. Within two hours, he saw many people. Some were caught and taken away, some were beaten up, and others were lucky enough to do what they wanted to do.

But both the law enforcement officers and what he saw were only part of many things. The Masked Man did not find an opportunity - an opportunity to help him achieve justice. He has not found a completely "innocent" person tonight.

So he slowly wandered to the vicinity of the palace. There were wide avenues nearby, but the buildings on both sides were not high - not higher than the spire of the palace.

However, just as his feet landed on the roof, he saw a person. A young woman was hiding in the shadow of the roof railings, looking in the direction of the palace with concentration. She looked so focused that she did not find that the masked man had walked behind her.

Then she heard a voice sounding behind her: "You know, the patrolers may not always walk on the street. They may also come to the top of the building to take a look."

The woman's body trembled slightly. In the blink of an eye, it disappeared. But the masked man grabbed a handful of the void on his left, and pulled the woman's arm to pull her out of the void.

"I'm not them." said the masked man quickly, "Just just give you a reminder."

The woman jumped again without saying a word, but this time the masked man appeared on the street on the other side of the building with her.

"Don't do this. There are sensors nearby." The Mask reminded again.

The young woman gasped slightly and ran silently into the shadow of an alley next to the street. But the masked man followed closely behind.

The woman finally stopped and leaned her back against the wall. She looked at the masked man with wide eyes and gasped, "Who are you?"

"Don't you know me?" The masked man seemed a little surprised.

"I know you. But what I asked is, who are you? You are—"

The woman's words were interrupted. The masked man stepped forward with interest: "Are you a member of the organization?"

A dangerous light suddenly burst out from the woman's eyes, but it soon dimmed - she knew that she could not suppress the man.

"Aren't you?" she asked back.

But the other party did not answer positively - in fact, it was also an answer - instead changed the topic: "I found you were looking at the palace. Are you planning to assassinate the emperor?"

The woman pursed her lips and looked around with her light. After being sure that there was no route to escape, she gritted her teeth and said, "I said no. Do you believe it?"

"Ha. Of course I believe it." The masked man stepped back two or three steps, keeping the distance between the two to a level that no longer makes the other party feel depressed, and said, "You can't kill him. No one can."

The woman was unconvinced to refute, but knew that the other party was telling the truth. She hesitated for a while between slipping away immediately and staying the two options, and spoke discouragedly: "I just want to try my luck. I was wondering if the emperor would come out for a walk tonight, and I had something to say to him."

The masked man was stunned. Then he smiled gently: "You girl is quite interesting. Tell me, what are you going to say to him?"

The woman stared at him for a while before saying, "I want to talk to him. I want to tell him not to be an emperor, not to curfew, not to classify people according to their abilities - just like goods. I also want to tell him that many officials are now corruption and they are not as good as he thought."

The expression was not visible on the masked man's mask. But he could hear from his voice that his interest was getting stronger and stronger. He asked, "How do you know that he doesn't know?"

"Because he was not that kind of person before!" the woman said excitedly, "He used to be the hero in my heart - he must not know how difficult it is for us to live now! He also does not know that those people under him have done bad things!"

The Masked Man was silent for a moment and shrugged: "How old are you this year?"

"Seventeen years old. What's wrong?" the woman asked fiercely - as if she knew why the other party asked her age.

"So you have awakened your abilities." The masked man sighed slightly, "Your abilities are rare. But I have to advise you that if you continue like this... your abilities will be a pity. You can jump around. But others also have ways to prevent you from jumping. For example, now."

As soon as he finished speaking, the alley lit up.

It is not illuminated by the light, but some dark blue light.

The light came from two small square boxes on the walls on both sides of the entrance of the alley - the surfaces of the two small things were jumping with electric light, and it quickly connected into a line, and then the line passed through the narrow space at the speed of light. The woman was swept by it and instantly felt something was missing in her body.

When she saw three more people in black suits appearing at the entrance of the alley, she realized that she was blocked by agents from the Security Bureau. She subconsciously planned to activate her ability, but found that she had temporarily become an ordinary person.

The masked man stepped forward and blocked her behind him. He turned his head and asked, "What's your name?"

The woman was stunned for a long time until she saw one of the agents walking towards this side with a pistol, and said, "Victoria."

The masked man was stunned for a moment before he could see clearly that the girl was a mixed-race man.

But at this moment, she had a decisive expression on her face, as if she really planned to die in this alley with the one in front of her.

The agent ten meters away raised his muzzle: "Raise your hand, turn around, lean against the wall, take your time."

But the Mask Man didn't do it. He even continued to say to Victoria: "I really don't know if you're lucky or unlucky tonight."

So the agent fired without hesitation and hit the masked man in the forehead.

However... Then there was another sound of jumping in the alley - it seemed that the bullet penetrated the masked man's head and shot on the wall.

But seeing that the masked man's mask was intact, the agent immediately understood what was going on - this man was moving too fast, almost exceeding the speed limit that the human retina could capture.

The agent was not panicked. He took two steps back with the gun and made a gesture. So a blonde man in the middle pressed his hands with a sudden pressure - everything sounded silent between heaven and earth.

In this area near Mask Man and Victoria, the time flow rate has been slowed down by ten times.

"Kill him." said the agent who controlled the time. The three people reached a consensus because they realized that even a small force field limiter could not weaken the power of the Mask Man - his abilities were infinitely close to the King.

Just as the two people next to him raised their guns, Victoria slowly opened her mouth and said, "You..."

The agent fired. Two bullets shot at the forehead of the masked man - the moment the bullet entered the slowing range. The time controller removed his ability. This means that the reaction distance left for the masked man is only twenty centimeters, which is equivalent to a person firing against his head.

However, all two bullets were taken away, and the three agents did not even see the other party's actions.

The time controller slowed the flow of time around them fifteen times without hesitation. At this time, Victoria said the first word - "Quick..."

The Mask man moved. He shook his head like a normal person in the slowdown fifteen times and said, "It's a good job. Unfortunately, it's meaningless."

At this time, the two agents used their fingers to force the trigger and the trigger was pulled down. But in the end the bullet flew into the sky. When the masked man rushed out of the slow-speed area, they also failed to see it. Before they found that the gun in their hands had been taken away, the three of them were all lying on the ground.

It was not until this moment that Victoria finished the third word. It was just like one sentence: "Go away quickly."

"Then let's go." The masked man waved his hand and broke the generator stuck to the wall, and the alley fell into darkness again.

Victoria looked at him in confusion and the three people on the ground. No more than two seconds since the agent fired the first time he shot, she didn't know what happened in this second.

"...You killed them?" she asked with wide eyes.

"Not yet," said the masked man, "Do you want me to kill them?"

Victoria stared at the three of them for a while and shook her head: "No."

The masked man smiled: "That's the point. Girl, don't fight and kill."

There were chaotic footsteps outside the alley. Within ten seconds after the gunshot, support came. But the masked man pulled up one of Victoria's arms, and the two disappeared into the void at the same time.

Five minutes later, the two appeared somewhere south of the city. Victoria did not expect that the masked man would have the same power as her and be even stronger. This discovery made her excited. Then she developed a vague feeling - which girl would not be like this when facing a powerful person who saved her life?

She couldn't see the expression of the masked man clearly, but from his body language, she could notice that the incident just now had no effect on him - the other party seemed quite happy.

But his next words made Victoria less happy. He said: "You'd better hide in these days. Do your organization have safe houses?"

Victoria frowned in confusion: "Why? Didn't those three people be beaten down by you? They couldn't see what I looked like."

The masked man sat down on the edge of the rooftop rooftop and said to her face to the sea: "In that environment, they really can't see you clearly. The problem is, the little girl - there are surveillance cameras around the palace. Otherwise, why do you think we were blocked? How many times have you been hiding on the rooftop there?"

Victoria pursed her lips and whispered: "It's just a second time."

The masked man turned to look at her and laughed: "That's it? If you waited for your third time to catch you, they would have gone to military court long ago."

Victoria was speechless and pinched the corner of her clothes awkwardly. After a while, she asked, "How could you know so much?"

The masked man shrugged: "No one knows much, they have been locked up."

The sea breeze blew over, bringing coolness and a slight smell of the sea. Victoria sat by the rooftop like a masked man, shaking her legs one by one. She felt that what this person was saying should be right.

But... she was not thinking about this. She secretly turned her head to look at the person beside her. He was wearing a mask and didn't know his appearance. But he had a good figure and a very young voice - he said that he was the same age as him.

However, sometimes he seemed old-fashioned and had an unquestionable decisive meaning in his words, which made her confused about the other person's age again.

So she thought for a long time before she plucked up the courage to ask, "What do you look like? What's your name?"

The masked man turned his head and looked at her.

Victoria's heart suddenly jumped up. She added: "Well...you can't tell me. I know you want to wear a mask--"

But the masked man raised his hand and took off the mask. What he showed was a plain face. It was not good-looking or ugly. He said he was 21 or 22 years old, and said he was 28 or 9 years old - this was a passerby's face.

Victoria stared at him for a while, feeling a little disappointed.

She heard the other party say again: "My name is Hao Fan."

She pouted: "If you don't say it, just don't say it."

But Hao Fan smiled, took her hand and wrote two words on her palm: "It's not that annoying. It's Hao Fan."

Victoria smiled embarrassedly, pulled her hand back, feeling that the little disappointment in her heart disappeared: "Oh oh oh - why is this name? It's quite interesting."
