Chapter 2256 What I want is the blue out of blue

Cao Heng returned to Luoyang and lived for more than ten days.

He suddenly received news from Cao Shu that he wanted to go to Chang'an together.

Early the next morning after receiving the news, he came to Luoyang Palace and waited in the front yard.

After waiting for a long time, Cao Shuo appeared in his sight accompanied by Deng Zhan and Zhu Ao.

When Cao Heng saw Cao Shuo smiled: "I came here early today."

"With the lesson from last time, the child did not dare to go to bed late the night before." Cao Heng replied: "I was afraid that it would delay my father's major event."

"Is it still a person who knows the importance of it?" Cao Shuo nodded: "Have you been to my grandmother and mother?"

"I've been there the night before. It's still early now, so I didn't do it to disturb them." Cao Heng responded with a respectful response.

"Yes, I know how to do things." Cao Shuo greeted: "Follow me to Chang'an."

Cao Heng agreed, and he followed after Cao Shu passed by.

After leaving the palace, Cao Heng saw a team of hundreds of people waiting outside the gate.

There are two generals at the front of the team.

One of them was wearing a green robe, with a face like a heavy date, and the long beard floating on his chin was already a little white. Who could it be if it weren't Guan Yu?

The other person had a black face as if the bottom of a pot, and his gray beard was sticking out like a steel needle, especially his pair of round eyes. Even if he didn't stare at him deliberately, he could scare people. It was Zhang Fei.

Since joining Cao Shu, Guan Yu and Zhang Fei have made almost no achievements and retained the title of general, only because they are extremely brave.

Seeing the two of them and the team behind them, Cao Heng asked Cao Shu: "Father, although the journey from Luoyang to Chang'an is not very far, the terrain is very complicated. There are many mountains, rivers and ridges. If I don't beware of it, I'm worried..."

"The world belongs to the Great Wei. If there are thieves in the mountains and rivers, wouldn't I, the King of Wei, have done a very failure?" Cao Shu interrupted him: "Bandits were only released from poor mountains and bad waters. If I meet thieves blocking the way, I can only say that I have not done the King of Wei well, and the people are still living a discomfort, and I am forced to become a bandit."

Cao Shu said this, and of course Cao Heng couldn't say anything else, so he had to lower his head and replied: "What my father said is that I'm too abrupt."

He patted his shoulder twice, Cao Shu didn't say anything more, and greeted everyone: "Get on the horse!"

On the back of the horse, Guan Yu and Zhang Fei walked behind Cao Shuo, while Cao Heng followed Cao Shuo to the right.

After the team set off, Cao Heng looked back and asked Cao Shu with some confusion: "Father, why didn't you see Mr. Guo?"

"You mean to be filial?" Cao Shuo asked.

"That's right." Cao Heng replied: "When you go to Chang'an, Mr. Guo should always accompany you."

"He must have to accompany him, but he just didn't wait here." Cao Shuo said: "You should be able to see him when you get to the city gate."

Only then did Cao Heng realize that Guo Jia had made an agreement with Cao Shuo that he would wait for them near the city gate.

When he was about to reach the city gate, he saw Guo Jia and two generals waiting there.

Behind them were hundreds of brightly-clad cavalrymen.

Two generals standing beside Guo Jia, one of them was silver armor and white robe. Although he was already middle-aged, he was still handsome and elegant. It was Zhao Yun, who had guarded Yanmen Pass with Cao Heng.

The general next to Zhao Yun was also very handsome, but he was a little more wild. Even when Cao Heng went to war next time, he would set off for Ma Chao to Xiliang.

Cao Shu or wait for others to come, Guo Jia stepped forward to greet him: "I have met the lord."

"Are you ready?" Cao Shuo glanced at everyone and asked them.

"Report to the lord, you're all ready." Guo Jia replied, and then asked Cao Shu: "Can you set off now?"

"Let's go!" Cao Heng waved his hand and walked towards the city gate first.

Guo Jia followed him on the left, while Zhao Yun and Ma Chao walked beside Guan Yu and Zhang Fei respectively.

After leaving Luoyang City, Cao Shuo asked Guo Jia: "Is it sure Chang'an has been fully built?"

"It is indeed completely built." Guo Jia replied: "Since the lord decided to set the capital of Chang'an, the soldiers and civilians there have been rushing for progress every day, and they are afraid that the delay will last long, so the lord will no longer set the capital there."

"Chang'an and Luoyang were once the capitals of the Han Dynasty, and Dong Zhuo migrated from Luoyang to a large number of people. There should be a thriving crowd, but I heard that Chang'an is now very depressed." Cao Shu said: "Chang'an is a good place, but unfortunately it has become what it looks like in the years of war."

Guo Jia also sighed: "The lord is compassionate to the world, but others may not necessarily be like this. When Dong Zhuo moved to Luoyang, he did not take the migrant people seriously. Countless people were killed and hungry along the way, and starved to death everywhere, which made people really unbearable to look at him."

"I have heard people say all the things Fengxiao said." Cao Shu nodded: "That's why I encourage people from all over the world to live in more ways and not move people, and try not to move. You should know that migration is like moving, and the people are like furniture. Every migration is a test for the people. Many people die halfway, which is like losing furniture. If you want to decorate your home more luxuriously, the best way is to create furniture at home, rather than moving furniture from other places."

"It's really appropriate for the lord to compare the people into furniture." Guo Jia replied.

"Of course it's appropriate." Cao Shuo said: "Furniture not only decorates our home, but also our property. If others want to take them away from us, we must fight back and not allow anyone to hurt our interests."

Guo Jia agrees with Cao Shuo's explanation very much.

For those who are in charge of the world, the people are sometimes insignificant, and they will be fiddled with like furniture.

But after all, the furniture belongs to your own home, and you can do it no matter how you fiddle with it. If someone breaks into the house to fiddle with it, it will be a battle that will never end...

Cao Heng, who was following the side, listened to the two of them, but he had no intention of interrupting.

He didn't miss a single word about what Cao Shu said.

He never thought that in his father's eyes, the people were actually the property of the Wei Dynasty...

"What do you think?" Cao Shu turned his head and looked at Cao Heng, and asked him: "What Fengxiao and I just said, do you have different opinions?"

"I just think the people..." Cao Heng said hesitantly: "Should they be regarded as furniture-like property..."

"It will be protected only by treating it as property." Cao Shu smiled slightly: "For example, if I have a golden bead on my hand, whoever comes to steal me will definitely fight him. But if the person standing next to me is just an irrelevant person, what does it have to do with me? Whether or not to help depends on my mood. Even if I am in a good mood, I will weigh the pros and cons and whether I can do it better than others. Only when I have a full grasp will I choose to do it at any time."

Cao Heng nodded, he already understood what Cao Shu meant.

As a high-ranking person, it is absolutely impossible to treat the people as their families.

More high-ranking people just regard the people as laborers they ruled and offered to them, not to mention their relatives, they were even worse than their property.

Cao Shu regards the people as his own private property. Whoever touches his property will take ruthless measures against those people, letting them know that the property of the Wei Dynasty cannot be touched.

Relatively speaking, Cao Shu's perception is also more beneficial to the people.

"Don't take furniture too seriously." Although Cao Heng had already understood, Cao Shu continued to say to him: "If a home has no furniture, it will be a bare wall. For a home, furniture is far more important than we imagined. We need to buy and add it, and we need to abandon those that are not suitable for home. Only when there is choice can we gather. In order to make us value it, more people will gather around the Great Wei court."

"I already understand what my father means." Cao Heng responded immediately.

Cao Shu said again: "Don't underestimate furniture. In order not to be barely alone, we have to protect them. We are a house. Without furniture, it is just an empty house. Who would like an empty house? Sooner or later, it will be ruined and eventually disappear in this world."

On the way to Chang'an, Cao Heng could hear him speak some astonishing theories every day.

These theories sound incredible, but after Cao Shu made simple annotations, Cao Heng immediately thought that this is the truth.

The team walked for a day and did not arrive at the next city, but missed Sutou.

As the sky gradually darkened, Cao Shu ordered to stay on the spot.

The soldiers accompanying him set up tents.

When Cao Shu dismounted, he asked Guo Jia: "Did Fengxiao bring good wine?"

"Although the journey to Chang'an is not far, you still have to bring some fine wine." Guo Jia replied: "Especially if you walk further and you will reach the Qinling Mountains. Once you enter the Qinling Mountains, the terrain is complicated, making it more difficult for us to move forward. If you don't have some fine wine every day, you will be afraid that you will not even start talking."

"Please get some fine wine." Cao Shuo ordered Guo Jia.

Guo Jia agreed, and then ordered a guard beside him: "Go and get a jar of good wine for the lord..."

"A jar?" Cao Shu interrupted him: "That's not enough. You can't drink alone. Are you and the generals watching?"

"The lord means..." Guo Jia asked.

"At least ten or eight o'clock, I'll invite the generals to drink." Cao Shu replied.

Guo Jia ordered the guards: "Follow the lord, go and get ten jars of fine wine."

After the guard left, Guo Jia said to Cao Shu again: "Lord, we don't bring much fine wine this time. If we drink this way, I'm afraid..."

"There are cities along the way," Cao Shu said: "In the past, there were not many people who made wine. That was because the food was tight, and even the gentry members were unwilling to easily take out grain to make wine. Today, although some places are still very depressed, there are a lot of food. Taking out some wine to make wine is nothing to the people. After drinking the wine we brought, we will add some from the cities we passed by. The generals accompanied me to Chang'an. Could it be that they would not even drink wine along the way?"

"What the lord said makes sense." Guo Jia responded.

Cao Shu then ordered: "Fengxiao helped me to invite the generals. It is almost late spring and the weather is not so cold. Tonight, we will light a bonfire outside the tent, and we will sit in the open air to eat and drink."

"I'll go now." Guo Jia agreed and then left.

Standing behind Cao Shu and waiting for Guo Jia to leave, Cao Heng asked, "Why did my father think of asking the generals to drink?"

"I know who are the generals who come with me?" Cao Shu did not answer, but asked Cao Heng.

Cao Heng replied: "Guan Yu and Zhang Fei, two generals, followed Liu Xuande in their early years. They were forced to surrender until their father defeated Yizhou. Since they became the ones who have not made any contributions, their father has never been willing to take down the title of general of the two. It's just that their thoughts are really hard to understand."

"If you can't figure it out, don't figure it out." Cao Shuo smiled slightly and said to Cao Heng: "This time I took them to Chang'an, in fact, I want to see their thoughts halfway. If I don't have the heart to submit to me, then let them be silent from now on. If I have the heart to submit to me and are willing to make merits for the Great Wei Dynasty, I don't mind giving them a contribution."

"The credit my father said is Xiliang?" Cao Heng asked.

"Besides Xiliang, do you think there is any other place that can be asked to make meritorious contributions?" Cao Shuo asked with a smile: "Would you like to let them follow you to attack the Huns?"

"If the generals were willing to go with me to attack the Huns, of course I would be willing." Cao Heng said: "The only thing I worry about is that it is difficult to control them without the prestige of my father."

Cao Shu laughed and patted Cao Heng on the shoulder gently: "Prestige cannot be achieved in a day or two. Now that you have experienced several wars, you are about to destroy the Jie people. You have some prestige in the Great Wei Dynasty. But if you want to control these generals, you are still not at the right time."

Going closer to Cao Heng, Cao Shuo said in a low voice: "I know these generals are difficult to deal with, so I didn't send them to you. If you want to control them, use all the young generals under your command first and let them see, my son is not only the title of the eldest son of the Great Wei Dynasty, but also has the ability on the battlefield."

"I will definitely not disappoint my father." Cao Heng bowed and said to Cao Shuo: "As sooner or later, I will let everyone know that I can inherit at least half of my father's ability."

"What you said reminds me of someone." Cao Shuo said with a smile: "Cai Ji, who was following me like General Deng and General Zhu, was far inferior to him when it comes to flattering him."

The flattery was exposed by Cao Shuo, and Cao Heng smiled: "Father clearly understands, I am not flattering, I am just talking about the heart."

"If you only have half of my abilities, the Great Wei will not dare to give it to you." Cao Shuo said: "What I want is to be better than the blue, and it is definitely not just inheriting some of my abilities and taking over the prince of the Great Wei from me!"
