004 First audition

The throbbing of eagerness made Lan Li a little excited. He couldn't help but clench his fists to prevent his heart from surging too much and deviating from normal.

Although this was only his first Hollywood audition, the wooden touch from his feet was no stranger to him. This Broadway stage slowly awakened his performance experience in the West End of London in the past few years. After his brain activity reached its peak, he calmed down, and every pore on his body opened, breathing the air around him greedily, allowing himself to integrate with the stage.

"From left to right, everyone left the list in turn." A voice came from the bottom of the stage, and explained it concisely, "After saying your name and age, wait for the next command, do you understand?" The almost substantial eyes and emotional tone made the atmosphere of the stage tense more and more. The other party seemed very satisfied with the effect, and then announced the start of the audition directly, "The first place on the left, please leave the list."

The first actor introduced himself with a trembling voice. The tension of the audition was amplified to the extreme in the open space of the Broadway Theater. The ubiquitous amplification and echo effect created an illusion of tinnitus. The mental pressure and dull atmosphere pressed tightly on his chest like a huge rock, and he could clearly feel the tension of his vocal cords.

However, Lan Li did not pay attention to other people's auditions, but focused on immersing himself in his thoughts and clearing his brain. Even the roles, auditions, and performances were all eliminated, trying to achieve a state of calmness and concentration, and then keep it.

"Next."

Lanli took a step forward, but did not stop immediately, but walked straight to the "t point" position directly in front of the stage, which was the center of the stage and the focus of the spotlight. Taking a firm foothold, Lanli began to introduce herself, "Good afternoon, I am Lanli Hall, 20 years old this year." Confident but not ostentatious, concise but not cumbersome.

"Are you British?" A questioning voice came from the audience. Due to the unclear light, it was difficult to tell the source of the sound. "How about your American accent?"

"Which area?" Lan Li's calm answer caused a small commotion in the audience.

The accent is part of the performance, but it is not easy to learn. Anne-hathaay's British accent when he first starred in "Becoming Jane Austen" was criticized by film critics. Even actors from college, not everyone can capture the subtle differences in accents in different regions. For example, the difference between Boston accent and New York accent is very small. Renley's answer seems professional and confident, but he is inevitably a little arrogant.

After pausing for a moment, the voice just now spoke again, "Texas." This is not a problem, after all, the southern accent is still very obvious.

"So, I'm auditioning for a Texan who volunteered to join the army?" Lanley's thick southern accent immediately made everyone on the scene's eyes lit up not only because of the accuracy of the accent, but also because the standard London sound contrast before was too strong, making it hard to believe that this was the sound made by the same person, "I don't know if it's a soldier or an officer? I guess he shouldn't be a typical cowboy."

More importantly, Lan Li's words were not readily available. He noticed that the roles and contents of each actor were different. The first actor was asked to perform a cry, while the second actor was asked to perform a fearful mood. Therefore, he guessed that the casting director should find a suitable role based on the appearance and age of each actor, and then start the audition.

Just from the keyword "Texas", Renli vaguely outlines the character image.

"Oh? Why do you say that?" A curious voice came from the other side, with a slight smile in his words. He turned around and looked at it. It was Tom.

This was the first time Tom spoke since this audition. Renli could even feel the envious and jealous eyes of other competitors around him falling on his shoulders, burning so hard that it hurts a little.

"Because I'm not a typical cowboy." Lanli's upright answer sent a low laugh from the audience. Lanli rolled up the sleeves of her shirt that had fallen down again, adding, "at least it doesn't look like it's not."

"Haha." Tom couldn't help laughing loudly. Lanley in front of him was indeed nothing to do with the cowboy. His slender body, slightly curly short hair, and a shallow smile... The contradictory temperament of elegance and unruly, indulgence and restraint were naturally integrated, as if he would not be embarrassed even if he fell into the street. "I can't refute this." He paused for a moment, "You don't look like a soldier, at least you shouldn't appear on the Pacific battlefield."

This is a complaint about Renly's identity as a British man. The focus of the "Pacific War" is the American soldiers.

The joking mockery was not sharp, and it was even a little humorous, which caused everyone around to laugh, but it broke the audition rhythm of Lanli, which was not good news for him. However, Lanli did not seem panic and said calmly, "I only know that Hollywood does not allow homosexuals to play homosexuals, and blacks to play blacks, but never knows that British people are prohibited from playing Americans here." After that, Lanli raised his lips slightly and said meaningfully, "Interesting."

Hollywood also has a dark history. What Lan Li said is the facts, which have happened or are happening. The laughter at the scene suddenly became sparse, and everyone's expression was more or less awkward, looking at each other.

Tom couldn't help but rub his nose to hide his embarrassment. Steven, who was sitting next to him, immediately came to make fun of it, and shouted "Ouch" and made others lower their heads and smile, which made them really hard.

Tom used a speechless eyebrow, and Steven hurriedly looked at the stage and avoided eye contact, "So, you don't look like a cowboy, you don't look like an American, or even a soldier. Why did you come to audition?"

While joking, Steven dug a hole for Renley, and the other candidate actors behind him all showed sympathy. It seemed that Renley's audition today was going to ruin.

Unexpectedly, Lan Li spread her hands and shrugged innocently, "Because I am an actor?" The slightly raised ending sound seemed to be seeking everyone's affirmation, and expressing her confusion and helplessness. With a squirting, Tom slapped his thigh and laughed out loud. Steven, who was sitting next to him, was choked and couldn't speak.

Tom then realized his disobedience. Considering that the others around him had worked too hard to hold back their laughter, he quickly tidied up his clothes and said seriously again, "Why don't you perform a part of Shakespeare?"

Tom's words made everyone's laughter still not hold back, and it overflowed quietly, because the "Pacific War" had nothing to do with Shakespeare; Tom made such a request, obviously making a joke about Lan Leslie Hollywood's stereotypes about British actors are always related to drama and Shakespeare.

Things seem to have deviated a bit, and all signs are moving in a direction that is unfavorable to Renli. Such auditions have become a talk show.

But Lan Li didn't mind at all. On the contrary, he decided to seize this opportunity and show his abilities. Whether he has the talent for acting is now the time to see the truth!

He lowered his eyes and adjusted his breathing. He almost just blinked his eyes and had already selected the play, selected the role, selected the scenes, and then reawakened the memory of the lines deep in his mind.

Tom's smile slowly calmed down. He turned to look at the casting director, indicating that the other party could continue the audition. Generally speaking, the audition performance content was formulated by the casting director. Tom and Steven sat here to provide more reference opinions.

Lanley's outstanding accent just now attracted some attention from Tom and became a small adjustment between him and Steven, but this was just a small wave. In the Hollywood world, there were countless actors who could be called talented or even genius, with one more, one less, and one less, and nothing worth making a fuss. Such waves quickly calmed down.

Tom opened his mouth, but before the sound could be heard, he saw Steven leaning forward slightly. The eyes hidden behind the lenses became unprecedentedly focused, and even the burst of interest could be faintly seen, which made Tom turn his head reflexively and look at the stage again.

I saw that Lan Li, who was standing in the center of the stage, had a wonderful change. It was not that he changed his clothes or stretched his movements, but that he was a temperament change that could not be described in words.

At this time, Lan Li was still standing tall. Due to the height difference between the stage and the audience, the grandeur of her entire body was more and more prominent. However, the slightly tight shoulder lines outlined a touch of sadness between the interweaving light and shadow. It seemed that you could feel the surging emotions suppressed deep in your heart, so sad that you could not help but still barely support it. A few changes made the aura of the entire stage quietly settle down.

Tom couldn't help but raise his eyebrows, put down his legs and looked at the stage intently. Then Renly raised his head.

Lan Li staggered two steps to the side, and the mourning between his eyebrows and eyes surged upwards, and was replaced by anger, like the sea under the storm, calming to the heart, "Ah, great Caesar! Did you fall like this?" The sad mood was so fragile that it seemed to break when you touch it. The heroic spirit of the building burst out in the long dragging shadow, "All your great achievements and all your glorious victory have disappeared?"

The tall body was almost unable to hold on, and collapsed with a bang. His knees weakened and he knelt on the ground, relying on his hands to support him stubbornly. "Goodbye! Dear heroes, I don't know what you mean. Who else seems to be poisonous in your eyes and should bleed for him." The desperate and tragic words were a little indignant, and even the slightest gritting sound could be vaguely heard, "If it were my words, then I could die at the same time as Caesar, and let the sword in your hands end my life with the most noble blood in the world, and there is nothing better to do!"

Suddenly, he raised his head and looked at the audience with a sharp look. The burning gaze stinged the eyes of every audience member as much as the substance. The unswerving determination and determination projected over, making everyone feel ashamed and dared not look directly at it.

Three lines, just three lines, everyone's emotions were twisted into a rope, firmly controlled by a person's hands: the unique figure in the center of the stage.
