769 Missing the Golden Ball

In January of the northern hemisphere, London is rainy and rainy, while Los Angeles is still shining with sunshine and warm as spring. Without the attendance of Renly Hall, the Hollywood Hilton Hotel is still full of stars and bustling.

The TV series department is undoubtedly a bumper year, with popular works such as "Homeland Security", "Game of Thrones", "American Horror Story", "Atlantic Empire", "Breaking Bad", "Pride Wife", and "Downton Abbey" appearing, competing for various awards.

Popular actors such as Kate Winslet, Diane Lane, Zoey Deshanel, Alec Baldwin, Matt LeBlancranston, etc. will also attend the ceremony.

The film department is relatively a Little Year. There are no highly anticipated box office giants entering the awards season competition, nor are there any magnificent epics or masterpieces entering the awards season competition. They are more focused on small costs, small patterns, small stories, and small lives. To some extent, it weakens the highlights of the ultimate showdown of the awards season. However, there are countless top superstars this year.

Steven Spielberg, Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Martin Scorses, Woody Allen, Meryl Streep, Judy Foster, Charlize Theron, Allen Solkin, David Finch, Christian Bale... These names are the backbone of Hollywood, and each name represents a story, a history, and the attention that follows.

Rooney Mara, Ryan Gosling, Natalie Portman, Michelle Williams, Shailene Woodley, Jonah Hill, Michael Fassbender, Rose Byrne, Melissa McCarthy... These names represent the future of Hollywood, some are new generation actors, and some are new names that suddenly emerged in the past year.

Nearly two hundred guests, more than four hundred reporters, as many as six hundred spectators, and more than six hundred onlookers. The Golden Globe Awards ceremony is still lively; in the eyes of many people, Lan Li's absence is actually Lan Li's regret. After all, Lan Li should be the well-deserved focus of attention at this year's awards ceremony, and even compared with George, Ryan, and Brad, it is not inferior.

However, after the four-hour awards ceremony came to an end, many people's views seemed to have shaken. Now it seems that Renley's absence may not be such a bad choice.

I don’t know if it was because I received the lessons and warnings from last year, or because this year’s gossip and complaints were not very good, Ricky Gerves’ performance at the award ceremony that night was much more restrained. The performance was so well-behaved that it would not make people drowsy, but it did not reach the level of constant laughter, which also affected the ratings to a greater or lesser extent.

The 69th Golden Globe Awards ratings were 16 million, and the ratings were 5:00, which fell by 15 percentage points compared to last year. The decline was not large and within an acceptable range. However, considering this year's star-studded All-Star lineup, such performance is inevitable.

Ironically, even though the overall performance declined, the Golden Globes was still the most watched non-sports live broadcast program on NBC TV. This reminds people of the joke in Ricky Gerves' opening remarks, "The first host hosted the world's second largest award ceremony, and the live broadcaster was the third largest in the United States... Sorry, it is the fourth largest TV network."

Just as the ratings decline and the popularity of topics cooled down, the list of winners for this year's Golden Globes is really unremarkable.

In the competition for best drama films, the "help" with rave reviews returned in a defeat, and the "Hugo" who was definitely beyond expectations in the industry did not take advantage of the victory to pursue it. Instead, the "descendants" who focused on the mid-life crisis had the last laugh.

But in fact, the overall reputation of this work is far inferior to Alexander Payne's previous two works, "Glass of Drink Life" and "About Schmidt", which are not satisfactory than the "campus storm" in the early years. On the other hand, the advantages of "help" and "Hugo" are not as obvious as imagined. The trend of the award cannot be considered disappointment or regret, it is just calm.

In the competition for the best films in music comedy, the "artist" broke out with a big and small unpopularity, defeating the box office dark horse "bridesmaid", defeating the unstoppable "I Against Cancer", and defeating Woody Allen's best performance in the past 20 years, which really made people fall into the eye.

During this year's awards season, drama movies and music comedy movies are completely different in two aspects.

The average level of drama movies is very good. The overall quality of a series of works is very close. There are no particularly bad works or particularly outstanding works. This makes it more difficult to choose. The Golden Globe Awards simply gave six nomination seats in one go.

On the other hand, music comedy movies have clear strengths and weaknesses. The four works, "Midnight Paris", "I Against Cancer", "Artist" and "Brathermaid" have obvious advantages, and the quality of other works is largely different. Among them, except for "Brathermaid" as a pure vulgar comedy, which is similar to the status of "Hangover" back then, the other three works are not the same.

But who would have thought that the "Midnight Paris" blessed by Woody has a reputation that surpassed the "latest point of the game" and "Midnight Barcelona". The industry generally believes that the old man has returned to his youth; and the "I Against Cancer" blessed by Renli, the overall quality of the work has led the way in the awards ceremony season, and has received great praise from performances to scripts to themes. As a result, both works lost to "artists". There are no big-name directors, no big-name actors, no big-name producers, and even works produced by France that commemorate the golden age of Hollywood, and have made a bloody road.

This is not a shock, but it is not a surprise. It is just a matter of...it's hard to describe.

In sharp contrast, the award of the best director. Martin Scorsis stood out with the "Hugo" and won his third Golden Globe trophy.

This year is Martin's year.

Since the "Casino Storm" in 1995, Martin has fallen into the obsession of chasing Oscars. After that, his works have fallen into the rut of the Little Golden Man. This is true for works such as "New York Gang", "Flyer", "Walkward", etc., and their skills have become more neat and parallel. In the early years, the atmosphere and sharpness of "Taxi Driver", "Angry Bull", and "Good Guy" disappeared. "Walkward" was able to win the award that year, more because of the old man's vote of merit. He suffered all his hardships and achieved perfect merit.

However, after gaining the Little Golden Man, Martin let go of his hands and feet. First, a "Shut Island" shocked loyal fans, and then this year's "Hugo", which was full of childlike fun and strange camera language, reawakened the deep love of movies for every audience. The 70-year-old man still showed his enthusiasm and received unanimous praise from the public opinion community.

After defeating old rival Woody Allen, defeating Mesozoic directors Alexander Payne and George Clooney, and defeating the unknown Michel Hazanavicius, Martin once again became the hottest in this year's awards season.

Objectively speaking, if the best film in the plot is awarded to "Hugo" and corresponds to the best director, then the Golden Globe Awards will be much more interesting, and the third stage of the awards season will be much more interesting. Unfortunately, the Golden Globe Awards have chosen to divide the cake as always, so the list of winners becomes boring.

Compared with Best Picture and Best Director, this year, the competition for the actor department is more suspenseful and topical.

Meryl Streep led the way with the "Iron Lady" and was easily crowned; Michelle Williams challenged Marilyn Monroe in "My Week with Monroe", which received high praise, strongly defeated a competitor and won the award successfully; the "help" Octavia Spencer laughed to the end.

Among them, both actors play real characters in history. In addition to their vivid performances, they are also challenging their own limits. It can be predicted that Meryl and Michelle’s competition for this year’s Oscars will inevitably become fierce.

George Clooney, the "descendants" in the plot, won the third Golden Globe Award; Jean-Duyaldan, the best actor in the musical comedy category, stood out as an "artist"; Christopher Plummer, the "beginner" in the finally fulfilled his long-cherished wish.

The list of male actors' awards continues Hollywood's usual style, respecting the elderly but not the youngest. The 28-year-old Jonah Hill, 32-year-old Ryan Gosling, 22-year-old Renly Hall, and 35-year-old Michael Fassbender, are all ignored; and the three winners, the youngest, are already forty years old this year. Among them, Ryan and Renly, two superstars, have doubled up and down, which can be said to be the most lost person at the award ceremony.

Objectively speaking, the industry is generally optimistic about the duo of Renly and Michael in the competition for the best actor in the drama category this year.

The former devoted the most eye-catching love film performances since Anne Hall in 1977, "Brokeback Mountain" and "Blue Valentine's Day" to the most eye-catching love films since "Anne Hall" in 1977. Many film critics compared Renly with Heath Ledger, who died young; the latter was restrained and delicate in "shame", with great skill and no craftsmanship, and invisible performances, showing the depth and internal strength of European actors to the fullest, almost breaking into the entire Hollywood vision with the attitude of a comet, and its momentum was even more fierce than Ryan five years ago.

But both of them lost to George.

The competition for the best actor in music comedy is originally a showdown between Jean-Duyaldan and Renly Hall. Both actors have obvious advantages in the performance itself and the overall work. In North America, Renly's call is slightly higher, and his age is the biggest shortcoming, but his performance of four nominations in two years has impressed countless people; unfortunately, Renly lost to Jean in the end.

It is generally believed that it is probably the result of the vote split: some people voted for "love crazy", while others voted for "I am fighting cancer", so the votes were dispersed, resulting in returning empty-handed.

So, can the Gemini Renly and Ryan continue to shine above the next Oscars? After the Golden Globes ended, the questions were not only not answered, but became even more confused.
