Volume 8 Hundred Years of Resentment Chapter 57 The Real Beginning
The war began, and other combat troops were dispatched one after another.
As early as around 1:30 a.m., the Republic Air Force entered the highest combat readiness state, and hundreds of combat aircraft from multiple 1c air wings were launched and standby.
For the Air Force, how to use limited forces to complete the first round of strike missions has become a key factor in determining the combat process.
When deploying combat missions, the biggest problem Zhang Zhongxian faced was not the shortage of troops, but the need for the Air Force to redistribute combat forces before the operation began.
Although we have long known that the head of state will not start a war with India and the target of the Air Force is not India, but Taiwan and Japan, in order to complete the strategic deception work, the Air Force must take a stance to attack India before the war begins, so that the whole world believes that the Republic is about to send troops to recover South Asia.
When formulating a combat plan, you can imagine the troubles Zhang Zhongxian encountered.
Until the night of the 22nd, the main force of the Air Force was deployed in the southwest and northwest regions of the Republic. According to the report submitted by CIA to the Pentagon and the White House, in order to launch a combat operation to recover southern Tibet, the Republic assembled about two-thirds of the tactical aviation troops, two-thirds of the support air force and about half of the strategic aviation troops, and deployed a total of more than 400 tactical combat aircraft, more than 700 aircraft, and more than 120 bombers. It is based on this intelligence that the United States made a prediction that the Republic's Air Force could defeat the Indian Air Force and destroy the Indian military system within 24 to hours.
As it is, the problem now is that the power must be diverted.
The Air Operations Department deployed in the southwest region; Fortunately, the transfer from Sichuan and Yunnan to Fujian and Zhejiang was only 1,500 to 2,000 kilometers. All tactical combat aircraft can complete the transfer flight without refueling, or strike Taiwan's military targets with one refueling, and return to the air bases in Fujian and Zhejiang after completing the combat mission. The key problem is that the main force of the air force is not in the southwest region, but in the northwest region.
In order to achieve strategic deception, the army can only do fake things.
For example, when the Republic starts a war against India, it is not to resolve the problem of how to recover southern Tibet. Instead, how to stabilize Pakistan and allow Pakistan to launch a smooth attack in Kashmir. Only when Pakistan stabilizes its position and restrains the main force of the Indian army and the national army in Kashmir can it launch an attack on southern Tibet. Without sending ground combat troops to Kashmir, the Air Force can only shoulder the important task of supporting Pakistan's combat field. In this way, the Air Force must deploy the main combat troops in the northwest region.
Not to mention the tactical aviation troops deployed near Yecheng, there are as many as the wings.
Before the war began, about half of the tactical aviation and half of the support aviation units of the Air Force were deployed in the northwest region. These aviation units were transferred to the southeast region, which was equivalent to spanning the entire Republic. The nearest transfer flight distance was more than 3,500 kilometers, and the transfer flight distance was about kilometers. Even when the j-11 fighter was carrying a secondary fuel tank, it could only fly about kilometers. The j-15 fighter could only fly about 3,000 kilometers. More importantly, the transfer aviation units were not only transferred combat aircraft, but also needed to transfer supporting facilities.
If in the usual case, the air force's supporting facilities can be airlifted by transport aircraft.
As early as 2015, the Heguo Air Force achieved "air-based" implementation. All necessary logistics support facilities were deployed on motor vehicles: air transported by tactical transport aircraft. Even large equipment can be air transported by large transport aircraft. This means that the air force's mobile deployment can be completely completed by transport aircraft.
The problem now is that the transport plane has been drawn to support the airborne troops.
In accordance with the combat plan formulated by the General Staff, all transport aircraft were sent to transport airborne troops.
When formulating an air combat plan, Zhang Zhongxian had to solve this problem first.
The solution is not without it, but it is very difficult, that is, through "interleaved support", ground support forces deployed in the southeast region provide support for combat forces.
It seems that this is just a matter of substitution, but it is not that simple!
The air force's support work adopts a "dedicated person responsibility system", that is, each ground support personnel is fixedly responsible for the combat aircraft they support, and any problems will be borne by them. Taking the j-14 fighter as an example, one j-14 fighter has two mechanics and mechanics, who are responsible for supporting two engines and fuselages, one electronics division, and one electrical division, and the electrical equipment of the fighter; one fighter squadron has one ordnance and 24 ordnances.
The ordnance division is responsible for the ammunition management of the squadron, and the two ordnance officers are responsible for the ammunition supply of one fighter. During daily maintenance, all types of support personnel must leave maintenance logs after completing maintenance work, seal the fighter's maintenance window, and then hand over to the airport's security personnel; if they find that the sealing room has been moved the next day, the security personnel must be responsible, and the support personnel do not bear any responsibility; in this way, all support work corresponds to individuals.
In this case, if the support force is adjusted, it will encounter a lot of trouble.
Don't say anything else, protect the person
We are willing to provide maintenance services for combat aircraft of other troops. As long as the plane is a trivial matter and there are casualties of pilots, no one can bear this responsibility.
In order to coordinate this work, Zhang Zhongxian personally went to the front line troops to deploy tasks.
In the end, the support personnel still used the original crew of each unit, but only borrowed the support equipment of other units. To this end, the Air Force had to launch a "war plan", requisition dozens of civil aviation passenger planes from major domestic airlines, and equipped each passenger plane with an air force navigator.
With airlifting power, the problem has not been completely solved.
According to the combat plan formulated by the General Staff, the combat aircraft participating in the first round of bombing will take off after 1:30 am on the 23rd, and after completing the mission, they will return to the air base in the southeast. Ground crew members will work until 1:30, and air transport can only start after 1:30. Because the first round of bombing will end before dawn, the first batch of combat aircraft will return to the air base at around 6 am, so ground crew members must arrive at the air base in the southeast before this to complete the maintenance and support preparations.
The entire airlift time is only hours, while civil aviation passenger planes take at least an hour to fly kilometers!
No minutes can be wasted during this period.
Fortunately, the major airlines in Heguo cooperated vigorously, not only sent the fastest civil aviation passenger planes, but also dispatched a large number of pilots who had served in the Air Force to carry out transportation missions. Zhang Zhongxian also made active preparations, not only arranged air force navigation for each aircraft, but also ordered the support air force command to fully be responsible for the support mission.
For fighter pilots performing strike operations, none of these problems exist.
At 1:30 a.m., hundreds of fighter jets deployed in the northwest and southwest areas took off one after another. Except for a few who headed to perform patrol missions near the China-India border, most of the fighters flew on the southeastern region. When they arrived over the central region of the Republic, the fighters carried out their first aerial refueling in batches.
In order to ensure that all fighter jets complete their combat missions smoothly, the Air Force dispatched all tanker aircraft.
In the round of aerial refueling, the 120jy-15b refueling aircraft provided thousands of tons of aviation fuel to fighters to ensure that the fighter completed combat missions. Subsequently, these refueling aircraft had to go to the air base in the central region of the Republic to refuel the fuel tank, fly to the southeast of the Republic, provide the second air refueling for the returning fighter jets, and provide support for fighters performing the second round of combat missions.
The tanker combat missions are arranged very closely, with almost no idleness.
At this time, the advantages of the electric transport aircraft are reflected. If it is a transport aircraft that uses an ordinary engine, it will take several hours of maintenance after completing the first refueling task. The maintenance volume of the electric motor is much less than that of an ordinary turbine engine, and the charging speed is much faster than that of a refueling speed.
After the tanker landed, it only took about 30 minutes to complete the takeoff preparation, which saved about 1 and a half hours compared to ordinary transport aircraft. During the Peninsula War, the -1y-15 transport aircraft used its high-intensity attendance frequency to prove the superiority of all-electric transport aircraft.
Relatively speaking, except for transport aircraft and tanker aircraft, the mission intensity of supporting aviation corps is not very strong.
In order to cooperate with the strike operations of the tactical aviation and strategic aviation, the support aviation team dispatched kj--22c, 12kz-19b and 12dy-14c, divided into two batches, and cooperated with the offensive troops to carry out combat missions. The kj-22c can patrol over the war zone for at least an hour after flying c kilometers; the kz-19b can patrol for at least an hour under the same circumstances, while the dy-14c needs an air charge to patrol over the war zone for an hour. Because the Air Force purchased 12 "air chargers" before the outbreak of the war (improved on the basis of the y-15, it can provide electricity for two fully electric aircraft in the air at the same time, and the fast charging time is 15 minutes), it has sufficient ability to provide support and support for all-electric aircraft such as the dy-14c.
There is no doubt that the Air Force faces unprecedented arduous tests.
In Zhang Zhongxian's words, the Air Force must use actions to prove its strong strike capabilities and prove that the country's huge investment has not been in vain.
Just after 5 o'clock, hundreds of combat aircraft that arrived over the southeastern region of the Republic turned to fight.
Because the main target of attack is the air force base in northern Taiwan, with the main purpose of destroying the flight runway, combat aircraft carry ammunition outside the defense zone with a range of more than 15c kilometers, there is no need to cross the middle line of the strait, and to complete the strike mission on the west side of the strait, or even over the southeastern part of the mainland.
Only some fighter jets that perform important strike missions launch attacks in ultra-low altitude penetration.
At 5:15, the first missile landed on the runway of Keelung Air Force Base.
In the next 0 minutes, more than 20 air force bases (including field airports) in northern Taiwan were bombed at high intensity.
Many people believe that the "Taiwan Strait War" will really begin from this time. (To be continued,)
