Volume Eight, Hundred Years of Resentment, Chapter 108, Peaceful Mediation

The country sent troops to attack Ryukyu Island, both within the expectations of the outside world and outside.

Japan entered the industrial era from a backward small country that was closed to the country and was in a corner, and became a world power. The first step it took was to capture and annex the Ryukyu Kingdom, which was originally a Chinese vassal state in the 19th century. By the time the outbreak of World War II, Ryukyu had become the most important military fortress outside Japan. During World War II, Ryukyu was occupied by the US military, and it was not until 1972 that the United States "returned" Ryukyu. In the following decades, the United States carried out military occupation of Ryukyu, and Japan only enjoyed nominal sovereignty. It was not until 20177 that the Japanese military government came to power that it "driven" the US military out of Ryukyu and restored its entire rule over Ryukyu.

It was also from this time that the "property issue of Ryukyu Islands" came to the surface.

Historically, China has never recognized Japan's sovereignty to the Ryukyu Islands. As early as 1879, China (Ming Qing) and Japan negotiated the Ryukyu issue: China proposed to divide the Ryukyu Islands into three parts, Amami Oshima, which is close to Japan's mainland, is Japanese territory, the Ryukyu Island in the center and the nearby islands are independent Ryukyu Kingdom, and the Xiandao Island in the south are Chinese territory; Japan proposed to divide the Ryukyu Islands into two parts, Ryukyu Island and its northern islands are Japanese territory, and the southern guide islands are Chinese territory. In 1943, at the Cairo Conference, the United States, Britain, China, and the Soviet Union agreed that China and the United States jointly trust the Ryukyu Islands. From 1945 to 1972, China always believed that the Ryukyu Islands were illegally occupied by the United States. Until 2C27, the Taiwan authorities did not legally recognize the sovereignty of the Ryukyu Islands belong to Japan.

Compared with history, it can be seen that there are too many reasons for the Republic to send troops to Ryukyu.

In a practical sense, capturing Ryukyu is a necessary step for the Republic to realize its war interests.

After the end of World War II, in order to block the Soviet Union and the Republic, the country established the "first arc island defense line in the Western Pacific" from Japan to Singapore in the Western Pacific region. The Ryukyu Islands are an important link connecting Japan and Taiwan.

Although Heguo has sent troops to Taiwan to achieve national unity, in the long run, if the Republic wants to enter the vast Pacific Ocean and consolidate its local defense line, it must control the Ryukyu Islands. After controlling the Ryukyu Islands, the eastern defense line of the Republic will extend eastward by 800 to 1,200 kilometers, forming a "confrontation" pattern with Guam controlled by the United States, greatly expanding the depth of defense, and fundamentally solving the security problems in the most prosperous eastern coastal areas of the Republic.

Anyone who knows that if the Republic decides to attack Japan's mainland, it will suffer heavy losses that cannot be borne, and it will take the second best to realize national interests by capturing the Ryukyu Islands.

With the mobilization of the Republic's marine warfare, it became a matter of time to capture the Ryukyu Islands.

The news, military commentators, and even intelligence agencies in other countries did not expect that the Republic did not dispatch the Marines, but the airborne troops undertake the main combat tasks. Everyone did not expect that the defenders of Ryukyu Island collapsed in just one day!

The battle was progressing quickly. Duchiwei, who served as the special military adviser of the US President, did not expect it.

As a soldier who knows the best of the Republic's airborne troops, Duqiwei not only fought with the Republic's airborne troops and suffered a great loss. At that time, he did not expect that the Republic would dispatch airborne troops to capture the five elders. The two marine divisions in the command of Duqiwei were wiped out. This time, Duqiwei did not expect that the Republic would only send a quick anti-revolutionary brigade to cooperate with the airborne troops without sending the Marine Corps. He also achieved a major victory within one day!

As news spreads in various places one after another, fighting on Ryukyu Island is no longer a secret.

After learning that the Republic's airborne troops were equipped with extremely advanced performance and could even easily defeat the T20 airborne tank. Duqiwei's first reaction was that the defenders on Ryukyu Island persisted for up to 3 days. The Marines were rushing to the battlefield and were likely to be sent to other islands.

It has to be admitted that the US local intelligence system and military mechanism are very advanced.

On the 30th, the Pentagon made an interim summary based on the experience and lessons learned by the intelligence agency, Cia and NSA in the combat operations of the Republic of Ryukyu Island. The report was handed over to Westwood by Duqiwei himself and gave a detailed introduction to the president. In fact, the report was also drafted by Duqiwei himself.

According to Du Qiwei's summary, there are three key points for the Chinese airborne troops to defeat the Ryukyu Island defenders.

First, it is a strong strategic maneuverability based on the support of the air force of the Republic. From the beginning of the battle, it captured Kadena Air Base and Futenma Airport. The airborne brigade that initially participated in the battle only took one night to arrive at the battlefield and entered the battle. For this reason, the Heguo Air Force dispatched the y14c transport aircraft, the y15b transport aircraft 120, and dispatched nearly 500 times at one night to complete the airdrop mission with extremely high dispatch intensity. From this, it can be calculated that the carrying capacity and attendance rate of y14c completely exceed the US military's c130y, and the transportation capacity is about 50% higher. It can be airdropped in one airdrop service including airborne combat vehicles; y

The ability and attendance rate are also much better than the US military's C. The cargo is the same, and the attendance rate is at least twice that of C. When the combat radius does not exceed 2,000 kilometers, the mission cycle is less than 5 hours!

Air transport capability is the basis of the strategic maneuverability of the airborne troops. In the report, Duqiwei clearly stated that the military air transport capability of the Republic has far exceeded that of the United States. It is necessary to develop a new tactical transport aircraft as soon as possible, modernize and improve C or develop a new strategic transport aircraft, strengthen the strategic maneuverability of ground combat troops, and enhance the troops' timely response capabilities.

Second, the powerful tactical maneuverability granted by the new airborne combat vehicles. Before the KZ25 was put into service, the airborne troops were always "strategic maneuver" troops. After landing, the airborne troops often faced passive attacks due to their serious lack of tactical maneuverability. In previous airborne combat operations, the airborne troops immediately lost the battlefield maneuverability after landing, and could only defend on the spot and wait for reinforcements. In the battle against Ryukyu Island, the airborne troops of the Republic not only defended but also took the initiative to attack, completing the past only armored troops could complete the tactical offensive tasks and become a veritable "flying armored soldiers".

Tactical maneuverability is the main indicator of the offensive capabilities of ground troops. Duchway pointed out clearly that the US military lacks airborne combat vehicles like the KZ25, so the 82nd Airborne Division has never been able to act as the main force on the battlefield. To improve the US military's strategic strike capabilities, it is necessary to develop similar to the KZ25 airborne combat vehicles as soon as possible, accelerate the lightening speed of the 82nd Airborne Division and other ground troops, so that the ground troops can adapt to the rapidly changing forms of war.

The third is the joint combat capability of the Republic's navy, army and air force. In the past, joint combat capability has always been the strength of the US military, but in the Peninsula War, the US military's joint combat capability was questioned.

Although no one denies that the strong performance of the ** team during the Peninsula War caused the US military to suffer the heaviest losses, the US military's own problems cannot be ignored. As a rising star, the Republican ** team showed strong joint combat capabilities in the combat operations against Ryukyu Island, and all combat forces were timely and accurately invested in combat, especially the "cross cover firepower" provided by the Air Force and the Navy for the airborne troops, which was enough to make the US Air Force and the Navy ashamed.

Duqiwei emphasized "joint capability". In the report, he clearly mentioned that the US military must carry out military reforms, change the existing command system, and strengthen the coordination of various military groups in order to maximize the US military's strong strike capabilities in the war and win at the lowest cost.

The report was not released to the public until decades later, but its impact cannot be ignored.

It was this report that allowed Du Qiwei to become Secretary of Defense in 2028 and began to implement the largest military reform in US history since World War II, clearly put forward the military reform policy of "fast, light, precise, and joint", and largely adjust the arms procurement plan and increase the development of military equipment.

No one expected that Ducheway, who had failed on the Peninsula, would become the top officer of the Pentagon.

Of course, these are all later

With the Republic's departure from Ryukyu Island, the international situation also undergoes major changes.

The still hesitant EU finally reached an agreement at the meeting held on the night of the 30th, that is, to mediate war through diplomatic means and contribute to world peace and stability.

It seems that the EU has decided to start taking action.

In fact, the EU has already withdrawn.

On the 311th, the EU rotating country, Dutch Alphonta, visited Beijing with French President Jacquessi, and began the EU's "peaceful mediation" journey.

The EU adjusts its policies, and the United States also needs to adjust its policies.

On the afternoon of the 30th, Eastern Time, after Canada agreed to accept 1.5 million Japanese refugees and bear all the expenses to rescue Japanese refugees, the United States proposed to send ships to Japan to receive refugees, and in the name of the G37, it asked China to lift the blockade.

Although EU member states voted in favor at the meeting, they did not promise to send ships to Japan.

According to the results of the meeting, the French president will request to "release the blockade" to the Chinese Yuan in Beijing, with the United States responsible for organizing transportation forces, and Canada will be responsible for resettlement of refugees.

Of course, the United States’ goal is not to save refugees, but to use the refugee issue to make China “withdraw troops”.

Even if Canada promises to contain 1.5 million yuan and New Zealand promises to contain 50,000 yuan, it is still a drop in the bucket for more than 100 million Japanese refugees. Without any doubt, no matter how much efforts the G37 makes, no country or group of countries can solve the survival problem of 100 million Japanese refugees.

The change in the attitude of the country has already shown that the fuck* no longer has any hope for Japan.
