Chapter 5 Registration

A week later, Jiang You received a WeChat message from Tang Butian, asking him to register with the Tangjiang City Public Security Bureau.

Tangjiang Municipal Public Security Bureau is in Ning'an District, about an hour's drive away.

Jiang You walked to the door and looked up at the sky. The clouds were thick and white with gray. He turned around and locked the door, called a taxi with his mobile phone, and walked towards the exit of Cultural Street.

After getting in the car, the taxi driver glanced at him and said, "Go to the Municipal Public Security Bureau?"

"Yes." Jiang You pulled on his seat belt.

The driver stepped on the accelerator, "Going to do something?"

"Yeah, let's go register." Jiang You looked at the increasingly gloomy sky outside the car window, "It looks like it's going to rain today. I didn't put in a few pots of flowers. I hope the rain hasn't fallen when I get back."

"It's impossible. How can the government be so efficient? It's okay if you don't have to run back and forth a few times."

"Isn't it?"

The taxi turned a corner and drove onto the elevated highway.

The speed of the car increased.

"You know, in the Xinwan Building not far from here, someone jumped off the building recently. It is said that even now, it is not clear whether he committed suicide. There are so many high-tech methods now, they are all over the top, but there are no people.

I can't go back home, it's so pitiful." The driver shook his head and sighed, "I heard that Zente Entertainment originally wanted to commit suicide, but now it's gone."

Zente Entertainment is the most profitable game company in China. In recent years, it has continuously expanded its business territory by investing in emerging startups.

"Didn't Xiaocha say he was going to go public?" Jiang You adjusted his sitting posture.

"It's not that easy to go public. I took a few chatty passengers over there in Xinwan, all after ten o'clock in the evening. I heard them say that now they are speculating on concepts and telling stories, and the profit is several thousand dollars.

Years later, you can’t see it now.”

"It's hard to do business now. Except for a few restaurants on the street, business this year is obviously much worse than last year."

"You opened a shop on Cultural Street?"

"yes."

"do what?"

"Selling postcards."

"That's because the business was not good. Now that crayfish are on the market, a friend of mine does this. In this season last year, the profit was hundreds of thousands."

"I've thought about it, but if I'm doing catering, I have to apply for a catering license, and I also need to do environmental protection and fire protection. Today I have to check this, and tomorrow I have to entertain that, and the house is too greasy to clean. It's not as easy as now.

"

"That's true."

Jiang You and the taxi driver chatted all the way to their destination.

The car stopped at the gate of Tangjiang City Public Security Bureau.

Jiang You got out of the car and looked up at the public security building. A few drizzles of rain were falling. He put his hands in his trousers pockets and slowly walked in.

On a weekday afternoon, there weren't many people in the lobby.

Jiang You walked to the machine where he took the number, and the guidance staff on the side asked him: "What do you want to do?"

"Tang Butian asked me to register. She said to give her name, and you will know."

The guide looked Jiang You up and down.

"Go to the twelfth floor. Enter the elevator and turn right to the second office." He pointed to the direction of the elevator. "The elevator is there."

"Okay, thank you very much."

Jiang You walked to the elevator and waited for a while before the elevator came. After everyone inside came out, he walked in and pressed the button for floor 12.

The elevator stopped at the 7th and 9th floors respectively, and several people in police uniforms came in. They glanced at Jiang You and then at the on-floor indicator lights.

When they reached the 12th floor, the elevator door opened and Jiang You walked out.

Turn right, second office.

He looked at the door plate of the Special Events Department hanging on the office door.

He knocked on the door.

"Come in." A clear male voice came out.

Jiang You turned the doorknob and pushed the door open.

The office is not big and is neatly tidied.

A young police officer with a fair face and a light blue T-shirt sat behind the desk at the front. When he saw Jiang You coming in, he put down his cell phone.

Jiang You saw the name tag on the desk with the word Sun Yu written on it.

"I am Tang Butian, please let me register."

"Oh, oh, okay," Sun Yu stood up, "Sit down for a while and I'll give you the form."

Jiang You pulled out his chair and sat down on the other side of the desk.

Sun Yu walked to the filing cabinet at the back of the office. He opened the glass cabinet door, took out a folder, pulled out a few pieces of paper, and walked back to sit down.

He handed the paper and pen to Jiang You, "This form is for you to fill in. This is a template. If you don't know how to fill it out, just ask me."

"Okay." Jiang You took the paper and pen.

"By the way, give me your ID card."

Jiang You took out a half-worn black wallet from his pocket, opened it, found his ID card and handed it to Sun Yu. Sun Yu walked inside and Jiang You heard the sound of the machine starting up.

He looked down at the form.

Sect, inheritance, magic weapon...

He turned his pen and filled in his name, ID number and mobile phone number at the top of the form, then signed his name and wrote the year, month and day at the bottom.

Sun Yu copied his ID card and came back. He saw Jiang You spinning his pen idly and asked, "Have you filled it out? Let me take a look."

He picked up the form and when he saw that it was blank, he frowned, "Why is it all blank?

"I can just see something special, and I can't see it all the time. I don't think Yin and Yang eyes are even considered."

"Then why did she ask you to register?"

Jiang You pressed the pen on the form, "One of my tenants jumped off the building."

"Oh, in that case in Xinwan, was he your tenant?"

"Yes, I also had good intentions. I was afraid that if something went wrong if his parents lived with me, she would find out."

"No wonder, let me give you a test?"

"OK."

Sun Yu stood up.

He walked to the filing cabinet again, opened the cabinet door, and after flipping through it for a while, he walked back to his seat holding a square album. He opened the album to the first page and placed it in front of Jiang You.

The pattern consists of dots of the same size and different colors.

"Color blindness detection chart?" Jiang You looked away from the pattern and raised his head slightly to look at Sun Yu.

"I think so too," Sun Yu picked up the phone, "Tell me the pattern you saw."

"Number 28."

"Okay," Sun Yu pressed his finger on the phone screen a few times, "What do you see on the next page?"

"elephant?"

"Okay, continue."

More than twenty minutes later, Jiang You finished flipping through the album.

Sun Yu breathed a sigh of relief and put his phone on the table.

"That's it? I thought these patterns had a hypnotic effect, and then I would enter a special place, such as a cave or secret room, with strange symbols flashing on the ground and around it, and some weird monsters would pounce on me."

"You usually like to read online articles, right?" Sun Yu paused, "When I first learned about this department, my reaction was similar to yours. People with special abilities see different patterns than ordinary people. It seems that they have different abilities.

The patterns are also different.”

"How many points can I get?"

"I don't know. I'm just an ordinary police officer. I work here for three months on rotation."

"Where's Tang Butian?"

"She is now the person in charge of Tangjiang City."

"Is she still studying?"
