31. Cabin in the woods

"This is a hormonal relationship. I mean, I don't usually shirk it, but this time it's her problem." In the early morning, a middle-aged white man with a gray-black tie and a white shirt leaned against the water dispenser and said to a man about fifty who pressed the buttons in front of the coffee machine next to him. The man's hair was gray and bald, and he was obviously about to retire.

"For example, how to protect children and install protective doors?" The old man answered in a lack of interest, and his attention was on the coffee machine.

"Man, she modified the drawer." Seeing that there was no coffee coming down for a long time, middle-aged man pressed the coffee machine a few times, and the coffee flowed out of the mouth of the machine and was caught by the cup below.

He pointed and explained: "We don't even know if having a baby is OK. She doesn't know what she put in the drawer, and she can't open it."

Compared to others, it was even more annoying that he could not open the drawer.

"Can't open it at all?" Seeing the coffee come out, the old supervisor became a little more excited and his expression was no longer as free as before.

"No, it can be about an inch wide, it is only enough for you to put your fingers in." Middle-aged man said annoyed.

"It's really a nightmare." The cup was finally filled with coffee. The old supervisor replied as if he was dealt with it. He picked up the cup and turned away from the kitchen. Middle-aged man followed closely and complained, "Yes, it's too late. She also tossed the cabinet. If we had children, the child would have to grow to 30 years old to touch the cabinet door."

In the outside corridor, two people walked side by side on the second-floor aisle. People came and went downstairs outside the fence, which was very noisy. The figures of the white coats and the clean and tidy, and the silver-white corridor made it look like an institution like a scientific research center.

"It is natural for mothers to protect their children." The bald man wanted to advise him not to pay so much attention to the details. The aroma of coffee made him restless again.

"Don't say that, you must have had such a problem." The middle-aged man curled his lips and was dissatisfied with the old supervisor's fooling answer.

"Please... I'm not like you." The old supervisor shook his head and laughed.

Middle-aged man grabbed his hair with trouble: "If this continues, we will break up before we have children. It took me twenty minutes to open the damn cabinet and get the beer."

Rather than being upset that she locked the cabinet, she wouldn't let herself drink beer.

"Guys, guys." At this time, behind the two, a woman in a white coat holding a document quickly caught up with an anxious look.

She brought a message: "Stockholm failed."

"Really? I thought they were doing well." The old supervisor spoke in a normal tone and didn't even look back.

"What's going on?" the middle-aged man next to him asked quickly.

"I haven't watched the video yet, I just heard everyone say that." The woman replied. The black bags of her eyes that she had not slept well last night made her look much haggard.

The middle-aged man shrugged: "Life is like a box of chocolate, and no one knows what will happen in the next second. The Swedes are unreliable and the whole world knows."

"Now only the Japanese side and us are left." The woman said anxiously. Her anxiety was in sharp contrast to the leisurelyness of the two.

The middle-aged man didn't care about the answer and even told a cold joke: "This is not the first time this situation is. Japan has done a good job before. Since we are still ranked second, let's work harder."

The three of them walked up the steps and came to the first floor of the platform.

This is a wide circular platform, with staff talking on the second floor platform. Several small, uncovered two-seater cars were parked in the white line area of the corner platform. The two of them got into one of the starting cars and listened to the woman's nagging.

"But if we fail, then..."

"Okay, we have not made any mistakes since 1998." The old supervisor said at this time.

The middle-aged man also spoke, telling her not to be so nervous: "We know what we are doing, Lin. Even if we don't know, we will write it down."

"You'd better not mess it up." The woman held the document and said dissatisfied, but she had no choice but to do anything about it. Most of the employees in the base had such an attitude except for newcomers. Their peace and security have made them lazy.

There is only one busy time a year, and when faced with those guys, the poor ordinary people selected are completely at the mercy of others, and there is no risk. But for some reason, women have a very bad premonition at this moment.

In Japan, the ghost summoned by the girls' school students has not successfully killed a single person until now.

I hope I'm overthinking... Now at 9:30, there are still more than ten minutes left, and those students will drive to the hut in the forest.

"Oh~ do you mean you won't participate in this year's bet? It's so much money."

"I mean, this matter is very important." The woman frowned. She didn't like the word bets mentioned by middle-aged men. In her opinion, this was a very disrespectful attitude towards life.

"Okay, I know what you want to say." Middle-aged man said, turning to the old supervisor in the co-pilot: "It was a problem with the chemistry department in 1998, right?"

"What..." The woman was puzzled. Before she could ask, the middle-aged man deliberately changed the subject and drove away with meaningless words.

"Where are you working, say wait, I remember it again, now."

"Hu..." After leaving the nagging woman, the middle-aged man breathed a sigh of relief and said to the old supervisor who was fiddling with a coffee cup beside him: "If everyone is so nervous, this weekend will be hard to bear. Will you go to my place on Monday? I want to find some electric drills to save my cabinet and beer."

The old supervisor looked down at the cup, as if it was not coffee but gold inside.
