15. The day after tomorrow
Antarctic State-Larsson B Ice Shelf
The endless snowy sky, or the entire Antarctica is based on a huge piece of ice.
A lonely small camp is located on this ice shelf, and there are no signs of life, seals, penguins, or something else except here.
On the exploration vehicle, the American flag was shaken by the bitter cold wind. The temperature here is below zero for many years, just like now, at minus 26 degrees Celsius. This is already very warm.
This is a temporary base, with two small tents standing opposite the exploration vehicle, with props and equipment to be used. Two figures were busy in the cold wind, and they stood in front of the drilling craft in the middle of the camp.
The sunset is setting, and the clouds in the sky reflect deep yellow. Glaciers stand like mountains in the distance.
It’s just that the clouds in the northeast are gloomy and the black clouds are pressing down, indicating an upcoming storm.
So Jack and others planned to leave after exploring the place. It was still time.
"Did you see clearly how to do it?" Next to the drilling machine, an older white male in his forties asked his companion loudly.
"Yes, I think I've found the trick." The white man was eager to try. Frost hung on the two of them, their beards and eyelashes, and their faces were red with cold.
The older white male smiled and said, "You'd better do it. If you screw up the ice core, the boss will twist my head off."
"don’t worry."
He then left, walked to the drilling machine, bent down and picked up the cylindrical metal tube, which contained each ice cube for surveying.
His hands were a little stiff, so he held a thick metal tube one meter long in his arms, pulled the exploration car and walked up. The car was not as cold as outside, but it wasn't much better.
"We got twenty-six feet (7.9 meters) deep." The middle-aged white man said, placing the metal tube on the rack, which had already placed more than a dozen identical metal tubes on it.
"Did you let Jansen control the drilling machine alone?" A white man's eyes left the microscope in the narrow space of the car and said to him. He was the leader Jack, who looked a little younger than the middle-aged man, and the years also left traces on his face. But it can be seen how handsome he was when he was young.
"Well, he can do it."
Outside, the white male held the drilling machine with his hands stiffly and his legs spread apart. His movements were straightforward, and he looked like a novice.
Jensen didn't know why his legs were spread apart, probably to make himself stand more steadily?
He was thinking in his mind, staring at the machine drilling downwards.
Crack-Crack-
A crack was formed on the ice surface not far away, and branches were like branches and continued to spread.
Jansen felt relieved and the drilling machine had successfully obtained another ice information. He sighed and finally did not mess it up. Turn off the power of the drilling machine.
And at this moment, some crisp sounds also penetrated into his ears.
Jansen's movements froze, and turned his head to look at his left.
A huge crack was creating a flat ice shelf covered with snow. He turned around and stared at the crack passing by his feet and continued to extend into the distance.
There was a sudden shock under his feet, and the ice rocks under his feet fell by several centimeters.
A vibration came from under your feet.
In the exploration vehicle, Jack left the microscope and looked at each other with a middle-aged man, and saw the disbelief in each other's eyes.
Want to suffer!
The two hurriedly ran towards the car door and pushed it open.
"I did nothing!" Jansen, who was squatting on the ground and observing the huge crack, quickly stood up and spread his hands. He was standing by the drilling machine, and two cracks were branches passing by him one by one.
As the words fell, the ice layer under Jensen's feet suddenly fell by one meter.
"Give me your hand! Don't worry about the drilling machine!" The two of them were shocked. They rushed out of the exploration vehicle and lay down in front of the crack and handed their hand to Jansen. The moment they pulled him, the ice fell, including the drilling machine falling into the abyss.
A two-meter-long, bottomless crack appeared in front of the three of them.
Jack noticed that there were three metal tubes opposite the ice. He suddenly realized that there must be the reason for the cracking of the ice. Regardless of the middle-aged man's obstruction, he took two steps back and jumped over and hugged the metal tube in his arms.
It was not so smooth when he came back. He successfully crossed the cracks that were still falling ice. However, after handing the metal tube to the middle-aged man, the ice cracked and fell suddenly. Fortunately, the two of them reacted quickly enough to successfully pull him up.
"What is that!!!" Jansen shouted in shock, and the three of them lay several meters outside the crack, still in shock.
"The whole ice shelf is cracking, that's it!" the middle-aged man asked, pointing to the distance. Several people looked over.
This ice shelf has a height of 1,400 square kilometers and is divided into two by this deep ravine.

United Nations Conference on Global Warming
"We found evidence of catastrophic climate migration ten thousand years ago. These greenhouse-effect gases gathered in the ice core, showing the out-of-control warming of the climate, pushing the earth into the ice age. This has lasted for two centuries." Jack in a suit stood in front of the podium, with the seats below the stage being the United Nations Council of various countries.
This is a slightly smaller conference room. It looks crowded and lively. Translators from all over the country sit against the wall to translate.
The UAE director pressed the question button, and the translator on the side translated his words into English: "I was confused by you. I thought you were discussing global warming, not the Ice Age."
"Yes, it's a bit contradictory. But global warming can lead to a trend of climate cooling." Jack opened the screen next to him, and drew a sea line chart on it. Then he conducted some popular science.
"Excuse me, when do you think this will happen, Professor." asked the French delegation director.
"I don't know, maybe a hundred years, maybe a thousand years, but I know. If we don't act quickly, our descendants will pay for it."
The one who pressed the button this time was the US Vice President, and the question he raised this time was about money.
Losing trillions of dollars for a illusory greenhouse effect.
"Imho Mr. Vice President. If we don't take action, the price will be higher. Our climate is very fragile. At the rate of our burning of crude oil and polluting the environment, the glaciers will disappear soon."
The vice president helped out his glasses: "Our economy is as fragile as the environment. Maybe you should remember a little before making such a sensational statement."
Jack sneered: "Wow. The ice that broke last time was almost as big as Rhode Island. Maybe some people think it's sensational."
The vice president chuckled, with a strong sense of disdain.
The meeting ended in an unhappy end, and no one paid attention to Jack's words. In addition to Jack himself, there were also civilians.
Coastal buoy observation station
The buoy on the east coast George briefly talked about showed a warning, and the temperature dropped by 13 degrees, and no one cared about it.
International Space Station
Several people gathered in front of the window, three vortex storm clouds were entrenched on the huge and beautiful blue planet.
