Pipes of the same material with the same inner diameter and thickness have increased their internal and external compression resistance to about 5 to 7 times after a layer of silicon 9-nanometer coating.

Through plating, the thickness of the pipes of the same inner diameter can be greatly reduced. The reduction in thickness means that more pipes of the same weight can be made.

In the current pipeline market, iron pipes with the same inner diameter are more expensive than new plastic pipes.

The emergence of silicon nano-plating can reduce the material used in pipes and reduce the production cost of iron pipes. Two technology transformation analysts discussed some details with Li Ying's group.

According to the current strength of silicon nanoplating, if the cost-effectiveness of iron pipes is to be maintained, the thickness of the pipe wall can be reduced by 60 to 70%, and the thickness of this pipe wall is still 2 to 3 times that of the previous one.

Iron pipes are stronger than plastic pipes, and their performance is even better than stainless steel pipes.

However, silicon nanoplating is not without its disadvantages. For example, in northern regions with large temperature changes, the service life may be affected.

In addition, the electroplating of positive silicon 9 can only be used on metal and glass items, but cannot be used on plastic, wood, or paper.

Despite a little drawback, Silicon 9 is definitely an excellent nanomaterial that is enough to change several industries.
