3431 Expedition to Borneo

Zaichun, Singapore carefully inspected the huge scale of Eurasian ocean trade. With a complex mood, Zaichun's fleet began to set off and headed straight east to Kalimantan Island, which is what the Chinese call Borneo in ancient times!

This is the earliest area where Chinese forces infiltrated in Nanyang. For Brunei's oil, Xiao Letian began to establish the Kentun District at the earliest. It was precisely because of the wealth here that the Tsarist Russian fleet attacked.

During that war, the Chinese uprising broke out in Borneo, defeating all the local kings and completely unifying the Brunei region, and encompassing the northern part of Borneo.

The Dutch forces hurried in the Matapura area in the southern part of the island and did not dare to move at all. The fierce war scenes in the Brunei area shocked the merchants of this country.

Even the Lanfang Republic began to secretly negotiate with the Chinese people. After countless bargaining and long-term observations, the Lanfang Republic secretly joined the Chinese alliance.

However, the Lanfang Republic did not announce it to the public at the beginning, including the Sulu country, which secretly contacted the Chinese nation. Before the French-Prussian War was over, the Chinese nation would not disclose this secret.

Until the European war situation was basically determined, the left-behind minister Xiao Hexin launched the Luzon strategy, and the Lanfang Republic and the ancient Sulu Kingdom officially announced their joining the Chinese Federation.

Zai Chun did not enter Borneo with great fanfare, but sneaked in secret under the protection of the CIA, while the British fleet anchored near the island of Grand Natuna and waited quietly.

Emperor Tongzhi was received by Huang Wanxia and others, and conducted a intensive inspection of Borneo for two weeks without disturbing the military and civilians of Borneo.

Zai Chun was even more shocked this time. He never expected to go to Europe for such a short time. Borneo had such a big change, which was completely different from the time of the uprising.

Along the coastline, there are all gathering areas of Chinese people, and the port terminals are densely built. In the distance are plantation areas, even modern factories burning coal have appeared.

A further horizon is the constantly developing farmland. The rice ripe in the Southeast Asian region will not be wasted. The Chinese farms hire a large number of Borneo natives, especially women.

Huang Wanxia felt a little ashamed when she saw those hard-working native women, and there was also a shady background behind the surface tranquility and peace.

Since most of the refugees who fled from the mainland are men, it is difficult to continue without women. Gradually, there is a very ugly business, population trading!

The rich Chinese people began to spend a lot of money to buy indigenous women in the forest, and the business became bigger and bigger. In the end, the headhunters in the dense forest even went to catch women from other tribes and sell them to the Chinese for money and goods.

Of course, all this is prohibited by Chinese laws, but some things are prohibited by law but cannot be implemented. Anyway, those indigenous women were forced to sell them and gave birth to children for the bachelors, while the local government also issued a certificate of household registration for these people.

Huang Wanxia knew that the Chinese people were changing bloodlines for these barbarians. In the long run, the primitive tribes in the rainforest were destined to die one by one. Apart from integrating, their only remaining ending was death.

Zaichun's excitement was obviously not on the native women who planted rice. He was more concerned about the efficiency of the Chinese people in developing wild land.

The tropical rainforest is indeed not suitable for people in the Central Plains to live. There is too much rain here and the forest is too dense!

But don’t underestimate the Chinese’s enthusiasm for construction. Repairing the earth is the blood talent of the Chinese. Will the nation that can build the Great Wall still be afraid of a rainforest?

Steam-powered water pumps imported from Prussia began to work. People cast dams to drain the accumulated water from the swamp and began to build roads deep in the rainforest.

At first, we could only walk on the dirt road, but gradually the dirt road became wider and wider, and gravel roads appeared here, and then narrow forest tracks were built.

One by one, the logging camps began to be established on the edge of the forest, and the precious redwood, yellow rosewood, and the wenge woods became the wealth of the Chinese people.

Hundreds of thousands of lumberjacks along the forest were working day and night, and behind them were hundreds of thousands of road repairmen who built the railway into the forest.

This is a war between people and rainforests for survival space, and the battle is speed!

Zai Chun was already stunned. The huge banyan tree required six or seven people to hug it. Under the cutting of the lumberjack, the huge banyan tree fell in front of him like a mountain.

The forest gradually turned into scars in front of people, and the open space quickly turned into farmlands and villages where humans lived.

All the natives of the primitive tribes of Borneo looked at all in front of them and were afraid, especially when the train was pulling truck after truck of wood through mountains and hills, their hearts were desperate.

Although these tribes are like savages, they are not stupid. They know that their dependence on survival is the rainforest. Without the protection of the forest, they cannot fight these pioneers holding foreign guns.

In the endless rice fields, there is no place for primitive tribes to hide. Villages, cities and roads like chess games have changed the pattern of the whole world.

What shocked Zai Chun was not only the spectacular scene of human beings snatching space from the forest, but of course the completion of the first oil well in Brunei!

"Kowtow bug? Why do you always kowtow on this iron rack?"

Near a wasteland near Brunei Bay, the first oil well explored by the Chinese people has begun to kowtow and oil is produced, and the steam power drives the connecting rod structure to rotate continuously.

The steam engine here burns coal, and in a blink of an eye, the pipes are flowing with dark and sticky oil!

The Brunei Oilfield has become an internship base for the University of Geosciences and the University of Technology. More than 600 college students gather together to study how to explore, develop, and use this kind of burnable underground black water.

Xiao Letian attaches great importance to this oil field and even built a terminal for oil field purpose!

Buckets of crude oil were pushed onto the ship, these were all test items and were sent to laboratories in the Northern Industrial Special Zone and Ryukyu Naha for more scientists to study.

The Chinese petrochemical industry has gradually taken shape and has reached the forefront of the world!

Zaichun clenched his fists and sweared in his heart, "When I return to the Qing Dynasty, I will also find this kind of oil. Although I don't know what this kind of thing is useful."

"But I know that every step of the master is meaningful! He will never do useless work."

After half a month's inspection of Borneo, Emperor Tongzhi couldn't sleep all night, and nothing he had studied involved in military affairs.

It's strange to say that what Zaichun is most interested in now is the construction of these ordinary places. He likes to watch road construction and bridge construction, he likes to watch steam engines drain swamps, and he likes to see kowtow machines for oil mining.
