Eight hundred and ninety-one. Reinforcements(1/2)

On October 12, 1966, the Axis Army's leading troops advanced to Odford, which was only one step away from London.

General Gandera, who was desperate, arranged the infantry brigades of the two British government forces and an armored regiment on the front line of Odford, and was commanded by General Denardo. At the same time, he ordered the army on both wings to quickly get rid of the entanglement of the guerrillas and advance towards Odford, in an attempt to slow the advancement of the Axis Army here.

General Denardo is the cousin of Prime Minister Wilkins, and his loyalty is not a problem. Although he has no outstanding strengths in command, in the present situation, General Gandra would rather use a not very good general than to ensure his loyalty first.

As for General Denardo himself, he was also very clear that his fate was completely linked to the Fenton government, and he had no way out. No matter how difficult the battle was, he had to fight here until the last moment.

His family is also on the Galaxy, and there is no news yet, but General Denaldo doesn't care. In his opinion, his family's life is far less important than his personal career.

On the afternoon of the 12th, the "Skull Lancers" troops appeared in Odford under the command of Major Strupp and launched a tentative attack on the British government forces as soon as possible. The propaganda offensive of the Axis powers never stopped, and a large number of leaflets fell on the government forces' positions, but it did not seem to have achieved much effect. Everyone here was ready to fight to the end.

Major Strupp was not a reckless person. He knew very well that with the power of his commando, he could not defeat the enemy in front of him. After a brief attack, he quickly ordered the troops to enter a defensive situation and waited for the arrival of the main force.

In the air, the planes of the Axis Army appeared continuously, desperately smashing steel to the enemy's positions. The rising flames even the haze in the sky was completely dispersed.

"The enemies here are a little different." That night, when the Central Assault Cluster Command, commanded by General Jonner, arrived at the battlefield, Major Strupp reported this: "Their determination to resist is very tenacious, and our propaganda offensive has no effect at all. I think it can be solved only through combat."

General Jonner was not too surprised. Using changes in the situation to persuade surrender can often play a role, but not every time it can be effective.

"Since that's the case, then use war to end it all." General Jonnar said very calmly.

On October 13, 1966, the Axis Army, with the German SS Skeleton Division as the main force, wanted Odford to launch a large-scale attack.

At this time, a group of battles were fought everywhere throughout the British battlefield. A large number of French troops and local British guerrillas fought together with the Allies who reinforced London. They did not demand to eliminate many enemies. They were just seeking the greatest convenience for the decisive war in London.

As for the fighting enthusiasm of the Allies, except in London, the direction of the London direction was obviously not high. Most of them, including some senior commanders, were completely unfavorable about the prospects of the war. They even showed pessimistic and war-weariness. This was very prominent in the war, and it could even be said to be a bit passive and slacking off. These emotional changes allowed the Axis Army to calmly achieve their combat goals.

In the early morning of October 13, in the drizzle of light rain, the roaring armored vehicles launched a fierce attack on Odford under the cover of artillery fire.

General Denaldo almost used all his skills and desperately commanded the troops to carry out defensive operations. However, as mentioned earlier, his command level was not very high, nor had he experienced such battles several times. Therefore, from the beginning of the battle, he had put his troops in a tough battle.

On several occasions, he had just issued an order, but he soon regretted it and issued a new order temporarily, which left the officers and soldiers at a loss. Therefore, the entire battlefield and the British government forces seemed in chaos.

However, although they were full of complaints about the command changes, the officers and soldiers of these governments were as loyal to the Fenton government as their commanders. Even if the situation was so passive, they showed no sign of giving up. Even if some positions fell into the hands of the Axis Army, these British soldiers would launch counterattacks regardless of their own efforts and try every means to retake the positions.

No matter what their position is, at least one thing is that from World War I, to World War II, and to World War III, the British army never missed any war. They accumulated a lot of experience in the war, and the British army performed very well in each war.

A unit that has been baptized by the third world war can often become a highlight on the battlefield.

General Jonner was not in too much hurry. For him, it was the most important thing to advance steadily, gain a steadily advantage, and turn this advantage into a winning streak bit by bit.

One morning, the troops of both sides were strangled together, fighting with red eyes, shells and bullets kept flying in the air, and every time they fell, they often took a large number of lives. Even the new recruits who had just joined the army would be excited under such a war and completely forgot about life and death.

This is something that cannot be learned in any textbook. Only by experiencing the battlefield personally can you know what shock is.

Although the British government forces performed very bravely, there is no doubt that they are losing the initiative on the battlefield. In just one morning of attack, they lost a large number of armored vehicles. The casualties of the soldiers were even more shocking.

Air attacks were the main factor in all this, and the Allied Air Force seemed to have lost the courage to appear in the sky on a large scale after the Battle of Southampton, which forced the British in Odford to fight hard in the absence of air support.

General Denardo asked London to provide himself with sufficient air support several times, but the answer he received was almost the same every time: London was also bombed. The Allied air support forces were seriously insufficient.

Damn it, this made General Denaldo very angry. He is now fighting hard on the front line, and can those damn Americans not even meet their own small requirements?

He would not blame the Fenton government at all. He knew that President Fenton and Prime Minister Wilkins were in a somewhat awkward situation. If they wanted to ensure that London would not be lost, they had to rely on the power of the Americans. And those Americans, especially General Gandera, had already arranged a large number of elite troops and almost all supporting forces to be used on the battlefield centered on London. It can even be said that they might not have believed that Odford could successfully defend himself from the beginning.

Driven by this mentality, even if President Fenton or Prime Minister Wilkins wants to give General Denardo a helping hand, there is no good way.

If that's the case, let yourself create a miracle here.

General Denaldo had already made up such a determination in his heart.

Finally, Denardo once again refused the enemy's negotiations to surrender. On the contrary, he put all the last reserve team in his hand into the battlefield. At this time, the British general had already set off a decisive battle on the battlefield!

Jonard expressed respect for Denardo's bravery. However, he was not satisfied with the command of the enemy commander. In Jonard's eyes, the enemy's defense system was full of loopholes, and Denardo had no way to persevere until tomorrow.

Yes, even if he can't hold on to it tomorrow, Jonner is very sure of his judgment.

He fought against each other and invested new troops in the most tenacious enemy defense, and continued to put strong pressure on the British government forces. At the same time, the "skeleton Lancers" commanded by Major Strupp also began to move towards the flank of the British government forces. On the left wing of Odford, it was surprising that Denaldo's defense was so weak that it seemed that Denaldo had never cared about the enemy's breakthrough from the flank.

This was a huge mistake, but for Denardo, it was already the limit he could do, a hot battlefield. The attacks higher than the waves made the British general of the Fenton government busy and had no time to deal with it. His uncontrollableness was also well reflected in his staff members. His staff members even seemed to be more panicked than their generals.

This is a qualified soldier, but definitely not a qualified commander!

At 12:30 noon, the "Skull Lancer" completed a breakthrough on the left wing of Odford, cutting off Odford's British army into two parts. The balance of victory had completely turned to the Axis army.

After hearing this news, Denardo stayed there for at least 5 minutes without knowing what to do. His head was in a mess and he could not think of a response. It was over, and it seemed like he was over. Since he was ordered to defend Odford, Denardo did not think he could succeed, but the failure was so rapid that he could not imagine.

The echo between the two brigades and an armored regiment was completely cut off, and at this time, the entire British government army had become a turtle in a jar.

His chief of staff finally made a very good suggestion: ordering the Norard Armored Regiment to quickly tear a hole in Germany and rescue the besieged troops. But after a long period of thinking, Denardo rejected the suggestion:

"I don't think the Norad Armored Armored Regiment is capable of doing this, and even if they are lucky enough to succeed, the Germans can quickly encircle the siege, so that even the Norad Armored Regiment will fall into a terrible siege. In this case, why should Mr. Trass give them the same fate as us?"

Chief of Staff Tras nodded silently. He could understand General Denaldo's mood at this moment. He not only bravely fought, but also cherished his soldiers very much. If it was not necessary, he would not want to see his subordinates die in vain.

"Our two brigades are completely surrounded and lack all the support we need." General Denaldo said slowly: "It seems unrealistic to count on London support now. Tesla, before the enemy completes the complete encirclement, orders the soldiers to break through."

Each breaks through? Tesla was surprised: "General, now I think what we should do is to defend on the spot. If each breaks through, the troops will fall into complete chaos and we will be defeated in the shortest time."

General Denaldo shook his head slowly: "No. I still stick to my order. This is their only chance to survive. Moreover, one must be added to my order, and I allow all officers and soldiers to surrender to our enemies on the spot."

Tesla sighed deeply, knowing that the commander's determination could no longer be changed.

At 13:30 pm on October 13, 1966, General Denardo, commander of the British government army, issued an order to break through. In just half a day, under the powerful offensive of the Axis Army, the British army of Odford collapsed.

At this time, the British troops on the entire Odford battlefield were in chaos. They evacuated their positions in panic and looked for a way to break through. However, more people chose to surrender.

Before, they were willing to fight to the end, but when there was a major turning point in the battlefield and even their commanders lost confidence, a change in their mentality was inevitable. However, the way these British soldiers chose to surrender was intriguing. Most of them chose to surrender to the First Division of the Royal Army, rather than the Germans.

In fact, if you think about it carefully, their choice is understandable. No matter what, they surrendered to the British, not the Germans. This may make them more psychologically acceptable.

Jonner doesn't care who the enemy surrenders to. In his opinion, all he wants is: victory!

The British army of Odford collapsed completely. By the time night fell, General Denardo was left with less than a platoon of troops. He was not prepared to surrender at all. He asked himself to return to London no matter how difficult it was. He was there. Even as an ordinary soldier, he could still fight to the end!

Gunshots were everywhere, although they were much more sporadic than during the day.

Those damn enemies were probably cheering for their victory at Odford, General Denaldo thought in annoyed.

"Hey, who!" Suddenly, a gunshot started.

General Denaldo and the people around him hurriedly lay on the ground. They saw a large number of Germans appear.

General Denaldo smiled bitterly. After all, these Germans discovered it.

Perhaps this will be his burial place. In this situation, General Denaldo became calm. He glanced at him and found that there was less than one platoon of troops around him, and he was no match for these Germans in any case. He whispered to his subordinates: "Hey, boys, you have completed your mission and can surrender now."

"No, General, we fight with you."

Hearing this, General Denaldo was a little moved, but he shook his head stubbornly: "Young men, the battle is over, listen, the battle is over. You are still so young, you shouldn't have died so early. As a general, I order you to put down your weapons and surrender!"

His soldiers looked at each other and then sighed heavily at the same time.
