Five hundred and eighty-eight. The spy who can never be caught

On May 25, 1940, the British MI5 received a tip: The big spy Murray appeared on London Regent Street in central London and took a taxi to leave. The London police immediately sounded the alarm, laid eyeliners at various docks, hotels, and streets, and sent a large number of police to investigate. Witnesses all reported that the Murray they saw was a strong and thin middle-aged man. He was always dressed in decent clothes and tied with a black and white tie. The most prominent feature was his big teeth.

Since then, news about Murray has been heard from all over the UK. His footprints seem to have traveled all corners of the UK.

However, the strangest thing is that British police detectives couldn't even find their own figures.

The British police station's carpet search lasted for a year was fruitless. The detectives traveled all over the southeast, northwest and north of the UK, searched Scotland and England, but still failed to find this "the most cunning Nazi spy".

In 1941, the British police announced that they would temporarily give up looking for Murray. Since then, many Nazi spies have been arrested one after another, but Murray remains mysterious.

Murray was the chief leader of the German Gestapo spy and the only German spy that Britain did not catch during World War II. His most famous trait was "crawl". In 1940, the then director of the London Police Department commented on the document that Murray was "the smartest spy in Germany". The British government spent nearly 15 years to investigate, but Murray was still at large.

All those who have come into contact with Murray say that he likes luxury life and often goes to high-end bars and nightclubs. He seems to be a vain person, but he is the most cunning spy.

The spy that can never be caught-Murray

Cairo, November 13, 1942.

News of Montgomery's failure on the front line had reached Cairo. The British were originally prepared to keep it strictly confidential, but the news was still exposed.

The Egyptians were happy and inspired, while the British and their allies were worried.

Egypt is really too important to Britain, especially the Suez Canal.

The Suez Canal is Egypt's golden waterway. Its opening is Egypt's pride and a great feat in human history. The canal is 175 kilometers long and it connects the Atlantic Ocean, Mediterranean and Indian Ocean well. The opening of the Suez Canal greatly shortens the voyage between the East and the West. Since its opening, the Suez Canal has become the most important and busiest waterway in the world, and is an important way for Egypt to generate revenue, so it is also called Egypt's "lifeline".

In 1856, France first gained the power to dig the Suez Canal. The excavation of the Suez Canal also owed Egypt a huge foreign debt. By 1869, although the Suez Canal was fully connected, Egypt's finances were overwhelmed by that time. Finally, in 1875, the Egyptian government had to sell 44% of the shares of the Suez Canal under its name to the United Kingdom at a low price. At that time, although France owned 52% of the shares of the Suez Canal, because France's shares were privately owned by France and were relatively scattered, while the British stocks were all held by the British government, and the United Kingdom had troops in the canal area, so Britain was equivalent to gaining the actual highest control of the Suez Canal.

The Egyptian government, which sold the canal stocks at a low price, was still insolvent after all, and a year later it had no choice but to declare fiscal bankruptcy. As a result, Britain and France also took the opportunity to take charge of Egypt's fiscal power, and Britain managed Egypt's income, France managed Egypt's expenditure, and both countries firmly controlled their economic lifeline. At this point, Egypt was actually controlled by Britain and France, and the Egyptian governor was just a puppet.

The Suez Canal, which is the "lifeline" of Egypt, is also the "lifeline" on which Britain, France, especially Britain rely on to safeguard global interests. The two countries that control the "lifeline" are responsible for the daily management of the canal through the International Suez Canal Company, which is specially responsible for the daily management of the canal. The company also sent representatives in Cairo, who can contact the Egyptian government directly at any time. In this way, the Suez Canal, built by 120,000 people in Egypt, built with bones, the treasure plate that should belong to the Egyptian people, eventually mostly took most of its wealth into the pockets of British and French colonists.

On both sides of the Suez Canal are a military base 104 kilometers long and 4.8 kilometers wide, which is also the location of the British garrison. The flag of the International Suez Canal, which flutters in the wind on the canal, clearly declares the status of "the country among the country". In 1936, Britain pretended to consider Egypt's "security" and allowed Egypt to sign the 20-year "Anglo-Egypt Treaty". The treaty said in black and white, "The British army enjoys the right to station in the canal area", and Alexandria was the military port of the British Empire.

In this way, the Suez Canal is not only a conveying point for Britain's economic interests, but also an overseas military base for Britain, which is the largest.

During World War II, Britain made great contributions to it. In the canal area, at that time, there were up to 15 divisions of troops, 65 air squadrons and the Royal Navy fleet in the Eastern Mediterranean, which was the base camp for Britain to fight in the East.

The importance of the Suez Canal to Britain is already obvious

Once Egypt is lost, the British Empire's hard-working operations in the Middle East will be thrown to the Germans, which is something the British will never want to see.

However, what else can Britain use to stop the German offensive now?

Maybe when you open your eyes tomorrow, the German tanks have appeared outside Cairo

The British were organizing the Battle of Cairo in panic. In Cairo, the uprisings were not calmed down at all, but became more and more intense, which also caused the sounds of the cafe and tavern withered a lot.

But there will always be guests.

Wang Weiyi pushed open the door of the cafe and walked in calmly. At the window of the cafe, a middle-aged man about forty was sitting, looking out the window in a daze.

Wang Weiyi sat down opposite him, ordered a cup of coffee, and then turned his eyes outside the window: "It's hard to imagine that Cairo would become like this."

"Yes, it's hard to imagine." The middle-aged man didn't seem to be surprised that a stranger sat opposite him: "I always wonder what it would be like if a German tank drove into it."

Wang Weiyi smiled faintly: "If you hear this by the British, you will be arrested immediately."

The middle-aged man also smiled: "What I can be sure is that the British are more willing to catch Baron Alexander."

As he said that, he lowered his voice: "His Excellency Baron, I am honored to meet you in Cairo. I have always heard your name and always wanted to see you, but I did not expect that our first meeting would be in such a situation."

"Murray, the big spy Murray" Wang Weiyi sighed: "Murray, the big spy that the whole of Britain is arresting, no one would have thought that you have arrived in Cairo now."

This middle-aged man is Murray, the legendary spy during World War II, a super spy who will never be caught.

During World War II, many super spies were active, but their identities were exposed or arrested without exception over time, with the exception of this super spy Murray.

Wang Weiyi looked at him carefully: "It is said that you have a big tooth, why didn't I see it?"

"Hisser Baron, that's just a disguise." Murray couldn't help but smile: "I have to give the enemy an illusion, ah, you may not know, because of the British's wrong information, many people with tooth were arrested inexplicably secrets."

"Good disguise." Wang Weiyi nodded: "Do you know your mission?"

"I know." Murray said seriously: "I received a secret order from Paris, General Nicholas ordered me to be dispatched. Baron, the news in Britain was too tight at that time. In order to avoid exposure, General Nicholas asked me to come to Cairo to continue his activities, and wait until the news in London calmed down before going back. I would only enable the contact information when I got the close situation yesterday. I think you need my help."

Nicholas, Nicholas Wang Weiyi sighed in his heart.

If Nicholas hadn't told him that Murray was a super spy he had arranged many years ago, maybe he still couldn't see what the most successful spy in history looked like.

Wang Weiyi adjusted his mood: "Murray, the German army is about to launch an attack on Cairo. I need all our strength in Cairo to work hard to welcome the arrival of the German army. I heard you have a way to instigate the 6th South African Armored Vehicle Regiment?"

"Yes, their regiment commander is my friend, of course, he thinks he is my friend." Murray said lightly: "I understand what you mean is to make the 6th Armored Vehicles of South Africa turn against each other when our people attack Cairo."

"Yes, that's what it means, are you sure?" Wang Weiyi asked immediately.

"No problem at all." Murray's answer was very affirmative: "But I need a huge sum."

Wang Weiyi smiled: "No matter how much money you need, I can provide it to you, but you must ensure the concealment of this rebellion. After completing this action, you will return to London. The British have temporarily stopped pursuing you."

"That is my honor, and I miss my life in London very much." Murray said with a smile: "His Excellency Baron, I feel honored to be able to serve you. Cairo will soon fall into our hands. I hope to see you in London."

"Yes." Wang Weiyi's voice was not loud but he was very sure: "You will see me in London soon!" (To be continued. Please search for Astronomy, novels are better, updated and faster!)
