Chapter 30 Entering Cedar Town for the first time
"Lord Oren, did you just unleash your dragon power on the two guards?" Rai asked in a low voice.
Euron smiled proudly: "It's just a little bit. I also combined it with psychic powers to directly project the dragon's power into the heads of those two fools."
Rai shook his head: "Lord Euron, your dragon might be a hundred times more powerful than fear magic. If you are not careful, you will crush the spirit of the guards."
"If they become truly cerebral palsy, they will cause trouble!"
"Let me negotiate next time!"
Euron shook his head, slapped Rai's ears with his tail dissatisfied, and then got back into his hood.
Rai was so frightened that he almost screamed. He had not forgotten Euron's true power.
Fortunately, the Power Dragon's control of strength is meticulous, comparable to high-level combat professions, and his head can still be saved.
The brown-haired conjurer touched his head and began to observe the environment in Cedar Town.
Cedartown is clearly not wealthy.
Most of the buildings on both sides of the street are simple wooden houses. Strings of garlic and onions hang from the eaves, and a large number of pine cones are spread out in front of the door. Peeled pine nuts are scattered on the ground.
But judging from the appearance, the quality of these pine nuts is actually pretty good.
The residents on the street are very plainly dressed, basically wearing a simple short coat made of magnolia, and an old ancestral cotton coat on top. The exposed backs of the hands are lined with veins, and the skin is dark yellow and rough.
Not to mention the streets, they are simply made of dirt, sand or cobblestones.
Countless footprints are stacked on top of each other, rushing through busy life.
Occasionally, you can see some adventurers wearing armor and grunting and complaining through the bustling crowd.
The adventurers also all look poor, and their professions are almost all warriors and archers. In Rai's perception, they are basically black iron-level rookies, and their life aura is quite weak.
"There are quite a lot of people here!" Euron muttered in his hood.
Even if he is nestled in a hat, Oren can rely on the power dragon's sensing ability to observe a large amount of life energy.
Ley smiled and said, "Yes, the population of Cedar Town is indeed surprisingly much larger."
"But I made some observations, and it should be related to Cedar Town's superior environment."
"Natural resources are very rich. Large pine forests are lush, healthy and fruitful."
"The pine cones all over the mountains and plains can provide high-quality oils and nutrients to the townspeople."
"This relieves the pressure on food to a certain extent."
"There are a lot of squirrels, hares, elk and other animals in the mountains, and they can also provide high-quality meat."
"The best thing is that these pine cones don't need to be planted at all, and they can be stored for a long time. It can be said to be food falling from the sky."
Euron turned around in his hood and guessed: "According to you, those strong pine trees are the ones that nurture the thousands of creatures in the Hyrule Mountains?"
Rai touched his chin: "In the final analysis, it is still the influence of spiritual veins. The concentration of magic power in the soil of the Hyrule Mountains is very high, and all the pine trees grow extremely healthy. This is why there are so many pine cones that you can't even pick up."
Euron asked again: "Then why is this town so poor? Isn't it possible to sell pine nuts and pine wood products?"
"I heard from Nu Yan that even this Cedar Town can't produce any oil or water."
Ley thought for a while: "The most important problem should be transportation. Those pine cones cannot be transported at all. Naturally, they cannot be converted into economic benefits."
"Lord Euron may not know that to the south of Cedar Town is an ancient battlefield where the War of Wrath took place thousands of years ago."
"That battlefield is filled with huge undead energy and is called the Tomb of the Dead. A large number of undead creatures appear in it, and it is known as the small plain of despair."
"This resulted in the main road from Cedartown to the south being directly cut off."
"As for the Hylar Mountains to the north of the town, let alone that."
"Thanks to the hard work of the two adults, Fury Flame and Laoshan, for many years, very few people dare to pass through Hyrule Mountain now."
"As for the east and west sides of Cedar Town, there are dense forests and swamps, and it is very difficult to open a road."
There was a movement in the hood, and Oren said in surprise: "Wait a minute, what did you just say, Wanku Tomb?"
"No wonder I always feel that the wind from the south makes dragons a little uncomfortable. If the undead energy in the Tomb of All Dryness is so powerful, Ustalon will probably take advantage of this!"
Rai's face also darkened: "It's not very possible. It's most likely that it has become their base!"
"When the academy sent Christine and I here, in addition to looking for the Tears of the Star God, we also had a small mission."
"That is to assess the activity level of the undead in Wanku Tomb. Then contact Isti's court mage to warn of the danger on the border."
"But it's no longer needed now. There is no doubt that Wanku Tomb has become a devil's cave!"
Euron was a little irritated after hearing this, so he got out of Ley's hood and wanted to get some air.
Suddenly everyone around was shocked and exclaimed.
"Oh my god, why is there a dragon in this town!"
"Is it a young dragon? Why is it hidden in that man's hat?"
"Go and report to the guards!"
When Euron saw this, he quickly quacked twice to show that he was a pseudo-dragon that could not speak.
The townspeople were stunned for a moment, then quickly moved away from Rai, leaving a large circle.
Everyone was whispering.
"He's actually a mage! What does the guard do for a living? How can we let him in?"
"Your Excellency, Cillian! Please pray to the Holy Spirit to protect us from the poison of witchcraft!"
"He will put a curse on our food and kidnap our little daughter to become a witch!"
Rai suddenly felt helpless. Xillian's church power radiated throughout the south and began to spread to the middle and back. Under the instructions of the Creator Church, these ordinary people had a natural fear of arcane spellcasters.
Of course, there are no such outrageous rumors even in Xillian's scriptures.
Kidnapping your daughter to become a witch? How could such a good thing happen?
Do you mortals know how much money and effort it takes to learn magic?
Rai felt a little speechless.
Euron was lying on Rai's shoulder: "You mages are really unpopular. The Silian Church has a very deep prejudice against magic."
"Why does the church hate you mages? Is it just because of the teachings of the true God?"
Rai sighed: "I don't know, but I'm sure that it's not just mages that the church hates. They also have trouble dealing with magical creatures."
"Fairies, dragons, giants, and even mermaids in the sea, they all regard them as savage beasts."
"But Lord Euron, what do you think the church hates most?"
Euron slapped Ley with his tail: "Don't show off!"
Rai groaned and touched his red neck: "The church hates the paladin the most!"
Euron suddenly became interested: "Isn't the Paladin a holy warrior who believes in gods? Amion's true god is Silian. Why does the church hate its own warriors?"
Rai smiled: "It's a long story. Lord Euron, you need to know a concept."
"To all groups, heretics are more detestable than heretics!"
During the conversation, they had walked around half of the town, but they still could not find any trace of the temple.
Rai scratched his head: "If I had known to let Christine come over, maybe her half-baked prophecy magic would be of great use here."
Euron grabbed the conjurer's shoulder and shook his head: "Ley, Ley, why don't you go to the local tavern to find out about information like this?"
The beautiful silver "pseudo-dragon" stretched out one of its wings and pointed at a dilapidated-looking two-story building on the corner of the street.
At the door of the small building, a tall and fat waitress was having a fierce scolding battle with the homeless man at the door.
