Chapter 31 The Sleepy Red Fox

Sleepy Red Fox is the only tavern in Cedar Town, so the customer flow is quite good.

The barmaid Kelly chased away the fifth homeless man today, with her hands on the waist of the bucket, and was about to go back to deal with the difficult customers, when suddenly her eyes lit up.

Today there is a new face!

He was a tall and thin man with brown hair, wrapped in a fur cloak to keep out the cold. He looked like he had some southern ancestry, and his face was chiseled but the lines were very soft.

But what is more eye-catching is the small silver-scaled dragon on his shoulder looking around. The dazzling golden eyes, gorgeous scales, and the muscular yet elegant and agile body of a feline.

Is this a demon pet pseudo-dragon? This man is actually a mage!

Kelly had been a waitress for many years and had seen many people from all walks of life. She had a sharp eye and recognized Ley's identity immediately.

Although due to the influence of the teachings of the Cillian Holy Cult, Cedar Town is resistant to magical creatures and spellcasters. But Kelly, as an excellent service staff, naturally refuses to accept anyone who comes.

What's more, mage masters are usually very rich. Although the clothes of the man in front of me are not gorgeous, the fabrics and furs are of the highest quality.

That astonishingly beautiful pseudo-dragon is definitely not something that an ordinary mage can raise!

Kelly put on a smile and greeted her: "Welcome to the Sleepy Red Fox! Is this your first time here?"

"It doesn't matter if you are not familiar with this place. Let the loyal Kelly serve you! Come on, let's find a place to sit down first."

Rai was slightly startled, a little surprised, and then followed the enthusiastic waitress to a seat near the bar.

"Come on, let's go! You old scoundrels! Just order a glass of ale and you'll be here all morning, you'll take advantage of me! There are guests coming now, please make room for me!" Kelly waved her thick arms menacingly.

.

Several townspeople who were chatting and spanking immediately left in despair.

Lai had no choice but to sit down and took the menu forced by Kelly.

The recipes are purely hand-drawn, and they are obviously made by a specialized cartographer. The various vegetable and fruit dishes are vividly drawn, and detailed explanations and notes are given, which is quite attentive.

This menu is apparently only available to certain customers.

"Mr. Master, please take a look first and call me if you need anything!" After saying that, Kelly went to greet other guests in a hurry.

Rai sighed and looked at the situation inside the tavern.

Although the outside looks a bit shabby, the interior of the pub is surprisingly well repaired.

Some herbs and bacon hung from the high ceiling, and the three stoves were working at full capacity. The aroma of barbecue, ham and stew filled the air, mixed with the aroma of hops and pine nuts.

Although there are many people and noisy atmosphere, the pub is well ventilated and there is no strong smell of sweat or odor.

Seeing the waitress walking away, Euron leaned close to the human mage's ear and asked in a low voice: "Ley, do you want to order something?"

"How can I be in such a mood!" Rai smiled bitterly, "But if Lord Euron is interested in dining, we can order some."

He thought that ordering more dishes would also help in negotiating with the tavern staff. Then it would be easier to pry information out of their mouths.

Oulun rubbed the dragon's claws impatiently. Although he knew he was here to do business, he was really a little greedy.

From the time he was born until now, the best thing he has eaten is Carmorne's barbecue.

But now that I think about it, there wasn’t even any seasoning on that barbecue!

Oulun curled up and picked up the recipe with his paws, looking at it with interest.

Rai was not that unprofessional. He made a gesture with the hand in his sleeve, secretly cast a sharp ear spell, and began to eavesdrop on the chat of the guests in the tavern.

The guests chatted about all kinds of things, and most of them were useless nonsense.

"Taxes have been raised again recently. Those vampires in the town hall are really making people miserable!"

"Have you heard that old William couldn't afford it, so he sold his land to the farmer and was directly reduced from a freeman to a tenant farmer!"

"It is indeed miserable, but who is not miserable!"

"The Wanku Tomb area is also very worrying. In the barren hills to the south, at night, there are skeletons walking around everywhere!"

"And do you know that the widow who lives in the north, the blacksmith's daughter, and the two farmers and their families outside the town have all disappeared one after another. Those useless guards can't find anything at all!"

"What did the adventurers say?"

"..."

Rai frowned when he heard this. It seemed that Ustalon had already made some moves in the Tomb of Wanku.

If that ancient battlefield was fully activated by Ustalon, Rai simply couldn't imagine how horrific the consequences would be.

The endless army of undead and blasphemous evil things will be the nightmare of all races.

Moreover, it is entirely possible to defeat more and more undead creatures!

Dead friendly troops can easily be transformed into undead, instead adding a large number of new troops to the enemy.

By then it will grow like a snowball, and may even overwhelm the entire Isti territory!

The most paradoxical thing is that Isti's pastor was passive and did nothing. The whole incident was full of weirdness.

Rai rubbed his chin, the more he thought about it, the more frightened he became, and his face turned a little pale.

"Ley, I'm ready!" Euron's voice will be heard, awakening the conjurer from his worries.

Rai looked at the silver-scaled dragon who was always full of confidence, and for some reason, he felt inexplicably more at ease.

With such a powerful dragon of power sitting in the Hylar Mountains, things might turn around!

"I want this red wine braised venison, honey-fried crispy chicken with pine nuts, and ham-wrapped honeydew melon." Oulun clicked on the menu with his toe paws and spread his wings slightly in excitement.

Rai nodded: "Okay."

"And this, stir-fried rabbit with wild vegetables, stewed lamb, milk pie, fruit and vanilla cheese, and rock sugar sirloin pie."

Rai frowned: "Lord Euron, is this a bit..."

"And these, garlic bread, fish pudding, mushroom cream soup, vinegar salad, roast swan!"

Rai: "..."

Half a minute later, Ley called the barmaid Kelly.

The conjurer sighed, took out the menu and circled a few dishes.

"Is that all, sir?" Kelly was slightly disappointed, "Wait a moment, I'll make arrangements right away!"

Ley stopped her: "Wait! I mean-"

"On this menu, except for the circled dishes, I want everything else!"

Kelly's mouth opened wide, and then she burst into laughter: "Okay, sir! But can you finish eating by yourself?"

Rai waved his hand feebly: "If there is anything left, please pack it for me!"

Kelly happily copied the menu and responded repeatedly. Just as she was about to turn around and let the kitchen start the fire, she was stopped by Rai.

"Oh, by the way, Kelly, I want to ask you about someone."

Now the real drama is coming. Kelly wipes her hands and her face becomes serious: "Master, please tell me."

Rai crossed his fingers: "I heard that there is a true saint in your town. He has the divine power to heal wounds and get rid of diseases. I have a friend who is sick and needs his help."

"Can you tell me his address?"
